A method is proposed for increasing the resolution of an object and overcoming the diffraction limit of an optical system installed on top of a moving imaging system, such as an airborne platform or satellite. The resolution improvement is obtained via a two-step process. First, three low resolution differently defocused images are captured and the optical phase is retrieved using an improved iterative Gershberg–Saxton based algorithm. The phase retrieval allows numerical back propagation of the field to the aperture plane. Second, the imaging system is shifted and the first step is repeated. The obtained optical fields at the aperture plane are combined and a synthetically increased lens aperture is generated along the direction of movement, yielding higher imaging resolution. The method resembles a well-known approach from the microwave regime called the synthetic aperture radar in which the antenna size is synthetically increased along the platform propagation direction. The proposed method is demonstrated via Matlab simulation as well as through laboratory experiment.  相似文献

Innovative memory switch devices require reliable bistable conductance properties. It would be desirable if such bistable characteristics were available in robust solid state materials, such as diamond, which benefit from outstanding physical properties. A bistable current with reversible switching effect from surface transfer doped ultrananocrystalline diamond thin films measured by electron field emission is reported. This switching is manifested by the appearance of huge jumps in the current emission, up to four orders of magnitude, that occur at specific extracting electric field values. Persistent hysteresis is exhibited whenever the field is ramped down. It is proposed that these phenomena are the result of resonant‐tunneling through a double barrier junction composed of tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta‐C)/nanodiamond/adsorbent/vacuum. This finding may pave the way for the realization of novel types of memory switch devices with unprecedented performance.  相似文献

Language models (LMs) are important components of many applications that work with natural language, such as word prediction and completion programs, automatic speech recognition, and machine translation. In this paper, we introduce various types of improvements for LMs dealing with word prediction and completion in Hebrew. Whereas previous systems for the Hebrew language apply known variants of existing LMs without any alteration, this study presents two types of improvements concerning the LMs: one is general and the other is special for the Hebrew language. These improvements enable all tested LMs to improve their keystroke saving abilities.  相似文献

This study reports column tests and modelling results to assess the impact of hardpans and cemented layers on oxygen supply in mine waste sediments. The analysed sediment samples were obtained from a low-sulphide and low-carbonate polymetallic mine waste tailings impoundment located in the Freiberg mining district in Germany. The three samples were characterised by different degrees and types of cementation. After physical and mineralogical properties of the samples had been determined, breakthrough curves of oxygen were measured in column studies at different degrees of water saturation, and the diffusivities were assessed using a numerical modelling approach. Results demonstrate that cemented layers and hardpans in undisturbed sediments associated with fine-grained material operate as preferential pathways for diffusive gas transport during rewetting, leading to higher oxygen diffusivities compared to disturbed sediments. Under air-dry conditions, the disturbed samples show higher diffusivities than the undisturbed sample, indicating clogging of the porosity by precipitation of secondary minerals such as trivalent Fe oxyhydroxides acting as a barrier and thereby decreasing the diffusivity of the undisturbed sample. In contrast to sediments without cementation, diffusion experiments of sediments with cemented layers used in this study yield similar tortuosities in spite of their different grain size distributions, pointing to the important role of these heterogeneities for gas diffusion.  相似文献

The vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) induces pathological angiogenetic ocular diseases. It is a scientific challenge to develop carriers for the controlled release of inhibitors for VEGF present in the back of the eye domain. Carbon dots (C‐dots) functionalized with the VEGF aptamer are introduced and the hybrid nanoparticles are used for ocular nanomedicine. The C‐dots are applied as effective carriers of the anti‐VEGF aptamer across the cornea, yielding therapeutic levels upon topical administration. The hybrids show no toxicity for both in vitro and in vivo murine animal model, and further enable noninvasive intraocular concentration monitoring through the C‐dots inherent fluorescence. In addition, the hybrid C‐dots effectively inhibit VEGF‐stimulated angiogenesis in choroidal blood vessels. This inhibition is comparable to two commercially available anti‐VEGF drugs, bevacizumab and aflibercept. The hybrid aptamer‐modified C‐dots provide a versatile nanomaterial to treat age‐related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.  相似文献

Statistical results of all the 1621 failure analyses, which cover a four‐year effort, are presented. The failure analyses were part of an elaborate test and ESS process of a high‐reliability system. Of the failure analyses, 97.5% identified the root cause. The classification of the failures by 11 root cause classes, including the test and ESS process itself is provided. The distribution of failure root causes detected during the various phases of the process is shown. Each test phase was analyzed according to the share of failures found and the fraction of failures that occurred during that phase. Applying a linear formula that summarizes the relative efficacy of each test phase compares the performances of the various phases. The term efficacy is used to describe the ability of a test phase to reveal failures without generating new problems. Copyright © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper, we present the self assembly procedure as well as experimental results of a novel method for constructing well defined arrangements of self assembly metallic nano particles into sophisticated nano structures. The self assembly concept is based on focused ion beam (FIB) technology, where metallic nano particles are self assembled due to implantation of positive gallium ions into the insulating material (e.g., silica as in silicon on insulator wafers) that acts as intermediary layer between the substrate and the negatively charge metallic nanoparticles.  相似文献
