In this study the finite element method is used to analyse the notch effect and the behaviour of notch cracks in adhesively composite laminate under tension by computing respectively the stress concentration factor at the notch tip which characterize the notch strength and the stress intensity factor at the crack tip which characterize the resistance to the crack propagation. The effects of the adhesive properties and fiber orientation on the variation of both stress concentration and stress intensity factors are highlighted. The obtained results show that the notch strength is reduced in the layer of the laminate of which the fiber orientation is in the applied load direction; the resistance to the crack propagation is also reduced in this type of layer. The stress intensity factor at the tip of notch crack exhibits an asymptotic behaviour as the crack length increases.  相似文献

This paper concerns a numerical study by the finite element method of the cracked structure repaired by single and double bonded composite patches. The stress intensity factor is used as fracture criteria. The obtained results showed the advantage of the double patch compared to single on the reduction of the stress intensity factor at the crack tip. The effects of the properties of the plate and the patch and the adhesive on the beneficial effect of the double patch are highlighted. The adhesive properties must be optimised in order to increase the advantage of the double patch and to avoid the adhesive failure. The patch properties have a significant effect on the beneficial effects of the double symmetric patch.  相似文献

In this work, two indirect approaches are compared to estimate the efficiency of the cold metal transfer welding process with two different current waveforms. The first approach is based on an analytical heat transfer model coupled with thermocouple measurements. The second method includes numerical heat transfer simulation of aluminium filler on the galvanised steel sheet. Then a diffusional-growth model allows evaluating the thickness of the Fe–Al intermetallic layer that was compared it to that of the experimental one. Results show that both methods give very similar process efficiencies. The process efficiency reaches a high value (0.92) with current waveforms using high-intensity pulses of short duration, whereas it decreases to 0.78 with current waveforms using low-intensity pulses of long duration.  相似文献

This paper focuses on a new coupling solution for determining the elastic interfacial shear and normal stresses in an adhesive joint between a strengthening plate and a simply supported beam. The mismatch of the curvatures in the beam and plate is considered by including both the effect of the adherend shear deformations and the prestressed laminates model. This new method leads to the coupling of governing differential equations for the interfacial shear and normal stresses. Most of the other solutions in the literature assume that the beam and plate have an equal curvature to uncouple this effect. In this paper, however, a solution is presented to calculate the interfacial stresses of beams strengthened with a prestressed composite plate having a new rigidity model coupled with the shear lag effect, which are neglected by the previous studies. It is found that the present method can predict accurately stresses in the interior and near the ends of the adhesive layer, where the stress fields can be significantly influenced by the edge effects. A parametric study was carried out to show how the stress concentration and distribution are influenced by the dimensions of the adherends and the material properties of the strengthened beam.  相似文献

Novel green-emitting phosphors K2Zn1???xP2O7: x mol% Mn2+ have been successfully prepared using classical solid-state reaction method in air atmosphere, doped by different Mn2+ ion contents, namely x?=?0.5, 1, 1.25 and 1.5 mol%. The samples were characterized by the thermogravimetric (ATD/ATG/DSC), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), steady and time-resolved photoluminescence techniques. It was found that all K2Zn1???xP2O7: x mol% Mn2+ samples crystallize in the tetragonal phase with P42/mnm space group. Upon 425 nm excitation, K2ZnP2O7: Mn2+ exhibits an intense broad green asymmetric emission band peaking at 520 nm, owing to the 4T16A1(6 S) transition of Mn2+ ion in K2ZnP2O7. In addition, it is suggested that Mn2+ ions occupy more than one symmetry site in the host K2ZnP2O7. The optimal Mn2+ ion concentration in K2ZnP2O7:Mn2+ phosphor is 1 mol % and with the lifetime 9.81 ms.

In this study, the three-dimensional finite element method is used to analyze the effects of the patch shape on the efficiency end the durability of bonded composite repairs of aircraft structures. The stress intensity factor at the crack tip is used as fracture criteria. The determination of this factor allows us to estimate the repair efficiency. The analysis of the stresses distribution in the adhesive layer allows us to estimate the durability of the adhesion between the damaged plate and the composite patch. The obtained results show that the repair performances are closely related to the patch shape. It was demonstrated that the rectangular shape of the patch could be improved using an “H” shape of the patch. This last shape could also be improved using an arrow shape.  相似文献
