Perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) was first observed in thin films of cobalt-chromium alloys in 1974, and perpendicular magnetic recording was proposed in 1977. After less than ten years, a new technology for high-density magnetic recording is firmly established. This breakthrough of the science and technology of magnetic recording has been made possible mainly through the ingenuity and concerted efforts of Iwasaki and other researchers. The preparation, characterization, and application of the Co-Cr films featuring PMA have been extensively studied. This paper reviews the large number of reports on PMA films with emphasis in three areas: (1) processing of PMA films; (2) correlation of magnetic properties and microstructures of PMA films; and (3) state-of-the-art techniques for fabricating PMA films.Nomenclature PMA

This paper studies the stability analysis problem for time-varying delay systems. An appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional (LKF) is constructed where its derivative is a quadratic polynomial function of the delay. A novel negative condition of the mentioned quadratic function with two variable parameters is developed to ensure that the LKF derivative is negative, reducing conservatism on some similar results. Besides, an extended version of Bessel-Legendre inequality is introduced to be employed in the stability analysis of time-varying delay systems. Then, some stability criteria with less conservatism are derived for two kinds of the time-varying delay. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed stability criteria is demonstrated through three examples.

While the significance of oscillator dynamics and coupling structure to synchronization behaviors has been well addressed in the literature, little attention has been paid to the possible influence of coupling functions. In the present paper, adopting the scheme of dual-channel time-delayed couplings, we investigate how the synchronization behaviors of networked chaotic oscillators are influenced by parameters in the coupling functions. It is found that, with the introduction of the second coupling channel, the synchronization region, as calculated according to the method of master stability function (MSF), can be largely modified. In particular, by a slight change of the time delay, it is found that the synchronization region can be significantly adjusted, or even switched from non-existing to existing. We demonstrate this interesting phenomenon for both situations of processing and propagation induced time delays, as well as for different coupling functions. Our studies shed new light on the mechanism of chaos synchronization, and may potentially be used for the control of complex network dynamics. 相似文献
The numerical method for multi-dimensional integrals is of great importance, particularly in the uncertainty quantification of engineering structures. The key is to generate representative points as few as possible but of acceptable accuracy. A generalized L2(GL2)-discrepancy is studied by taking unequal weights for the point set. The extended Koksma-Hlawka inequality is discussed. Thereby, a worst-case error estimate is provided by such defined GL2-discrepancy, whose closed-form expression is available. The characteristic values of GL2-discrepancy are investigated. An optimal strategy for the selection of the representative point sets with a prescribed cardinal number is proposed by minimizing the GL2-discrepancy. The three typical examples of the multi-dimensional integrals are investigated. The stochastic dynamic response analysis of a nonlinear structure is then studied by incorporating the proposed method into the probability density evolution method. It is shown that the proposed method is advantageous in achieving tradeoffs between the efficiency and accuracy of the exemplified problems. Problems to be further studied are discussed. 相似文献
A new kind of composite buffering material was made by filling the voids of honeycomb paperboard with polyurethane. Drop tests were performed to evaluate the dynamic energy absorption capacity of the material. Based on the tests results, we analyzed the mechanical behaviors of the material under different conditions and obtained the inherent influencing laws of some factors on the material's dynamic buffering performance. It was shown that the dynamic buffering performance varied directly with impact velocity, and inversely with the void diameter, thickness and buffeting area of the composite material. 相似文献
