Owing to the complexity of wafer fabrication, the traditional human approach to assigning due-date is imprecise and very prone to failure, especially when the shop status is dynamically changing. Therefore, assigning a due date to each order becomes a challenge to the production planning and scheduling staff. Since most production orders are similar to those previously manufactured, the case based reasoning (CBR) approach provides a suitable means for solving the due-date assignment problem. This research proposes a CBR approach that employs the k-nearest neighbors concept with dynamic feature weights and non-linear similarity functions. The test results show that the proposed approach can more accurately predict order due dates than other approaches.  相似文献

With the development of new technology and use of lightweight material such as composite laminates, new methods must be developed for in situ structural health monitoring of these materials. This paper introduces an approach for the detection of delamination present in GLARE aluminium specimens. The approach is based on the change in group velocity of Lamb waves with frequency–thickness product as the determinant parameter for the detection of delamination. Two methods are applied: a surface contact method, which utilises a wedge probe tuned to excite a single Lamb mode, and the embedded PZT method, which involves incorporating lead zirconate titanate (PZT) elements in the glass fibre reinforced resin matrix during the manufacture of the GLARE aluminium specimens. It was found that both methods enabled the detection of delaminations in the GLARE aluminium specimens, within certain limits, which are stated.  相似文献

A bibliometric analysis was performed to assess the quantitative trend of Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) treatment research, including intravenous injection of indomethacin and surgery. The documents studied were retrieved from the Science Citation Index (SCI) for the period from 1991 to 2002. The publication pattern concerning authorship, collaboration, original countries, citation frequency, document type, language of publication, distribution of journals, page count and the most frequently cited papers were performed. The results indicated that either treatment was not the recent emphasis of PDA research. The publishing countries of both treatments have also denoted that these researches were mostly done in Europe and North America. Both surgery and drug treatments had few international collaboration papers. English was the dominant language, and collaboration of two to six authors was the most popular level of co-authorship. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

A nano–microchannel flow mixer comprising a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) microchannel and a Nafion nanoporous membrane is fabricated. It is shown that when an electric field is applied across the device, an ion enrichment/ion depletion effect occurs near the nano–microchannel junction. The mixing performance of the proposed device is examined for three different samples, namely fluorescein (negatively charged), Rhodamine 6G (positively charged), and Rhodamine B (electroneutral). It is shown that a mixing effect is obtained only for the Rhodamine B solution. Thus, it is inferred that nano–microchannel devices such as that presented in this study and those presented in the literature are unsuitable for biomolecule detection applications since such molecules are generally charged.  相似文献

Accumulating studies have suggested that probiotics have beneficial effects on liver injury but the underlying mechanism has remained unclear. Toll-like receptors (TLR) expressed on immune cells and hepatocytes recognize bacterial components that are translocated from the gut into the portal vein. To date, it has been demonstrated that ethanol alone, without microbial components, is able to activate TLR, leading to promotion of proinflammatory cytokine production. Because the enhanced signaling of TLR triggers persistent inflammation, we hypothesized that development of hepatocyte TLR tolerance to repetitive stimulation plays an important role in protecting the liver from hypergeneration of proinflammatory cytokines. In this study, we showed that Lactobacillus casei MYL01 modulated the proinflammatory state induced by ethanol and investigated in detail the mechanism underlying the observation that L. casei MYL01 gave rise to TLR tolerance toward ethanol stimulation. The effects of L. casei MYL01 in the attenuation of ethanol-induced liver damage were due to enhancement of IL-10 production, which limited the proinflammatory process. Furthermore, better defense of hepatocytes against ethanol challenge by treatment of L. casei MYL01 was attributed to previous induction of toll interacting protein (TOLLIP) and suppressor of cytokine signaling (SOCS)1 and SOCS3 expression via activation of TLR1, TLR2, TLR6, and TLR9, an action that cross-regulated ethanol–TLR4–nuclear factor κB signal transduction events. This finding might help establish an in vitro platform for selecting hepatoprotective probiotic strains in terms of ethanol-induced liver damage.  相似文献

We investigate the hydrogen adsorption on and diffusion through the MoS2 monolayer based on density-functional theory. We show that the hydrogen atom prefers to bond to the S atom at the monolayer, leading to enhanced conductivity. The hydrogen atom can also adsorb at the middle of the hexagon ring by overcoming an energy barrier of 0.57 eV at a strain of 8%. Also, we show that the MoS2 monolayer is flexible and any mechanical deformation of the monolayer is reversible because the extension of the Mo–S bond is much smaller than the applied strain. The monolayer can block the diffusion of hydrogen molecule from one side to the other due to a high energy barrier (6.56 eV). However, the barrier can be reduced to 1.38 eV at a strain of 30% and even totally removed by creating S vacancies and applying a strain of 15%. The MoS2 monolayer may find applications in sensors to detect hydrogen, and as mechanical valve to control the concentration of hydrogen gas.  相似文献

Understanding the process of domestic retrofit is important for learning and innovation. This is particularly the case for low carbon retrofits such as those undertaken under the UK's Retrofit for the Future (RftF) programme, with its aim to achieve an overall 80% carbon reduction by 2050. Current post-occupancy evaluation (POE) research has both theoretical and methodological limitations with implications for technical and behavioural research in the built environment. Drawing on relevant ideas and concepts from social practice theory and science and technology studies, principally prefiguration (constraints/enablement), black-boxing, heating and cooling practices, this paper demonstrates how the relationship between buildings and people could be reconceptualized as mutually constitutive and co-evolving through a process of ‘interactive adaptation’. The concept of ‘interactive adaptation’ is explored through a novel approach to integrating physical and social data collected from a sample of dwellings selected from the RftF programme. Analysis yields insights into the influences and pathways of interactive adaptation resulting from retrofit technology and practices. The implications of these insights for policy-makers, the research community and practitioners are discussed: end-use energy demand policy needs to be informed by a socio-technical approach.  相似文献

Mechanisms of laser polishing metals in a continuous scanning mode, as envisaged and analyzed in this paper, are rather complex, and experimental optimization of laser polishing metallic material is very time-consuming and difficult. Aiming at shortening the experimental time in achieving a better surface finishing of DF2 (AISI 01) tool steel by pulse Nd:YAG laser, we used the orthogonal experimental design for selecting the laser operational parameters. The results showed that the orthogonal design (OD) allowed the optimum technological parameters for the laser polishing to be obtained quickly and effectively. According to the OD analysis and experimental data, the attainable optimum laser smoothening/polishing parameters from this study are pulse energy (P)?=?1?J, feed rate?=?300–400?mm/min, pulse duration?=?3?ms, and pulse frequency (f)?=?20–25?Hz. The work in this paper demonstrates the relative superiority of orthogonal design in saving experimental times and providing good laser polishing surface in surface texturing and the smoothening process.  相似文献

Nitric oxide (NO) is an important molecule that exerts multiple functions in biological systems. Because of the short-lived nature of NO, S-nitrosothiols (RSNOs) are believed to act as stable NO carriers. Recently, sulfhydryl (SH) containing macromolecules have been shown to be promising NO carriers. In the present study, we aimed to synthesize and characterize a potential NO carrier based on bovine Cu,Zn-superoxide dismutase (bSOD). To prepare S-nitrosated bSOD, the protein was incubated with S-nitrosoglutathione (GSNO) under varied experimental conditions. The results show that significant S-nitrosation of bSOD occurred only at high temperature (50 °C) for prolonged incubation time (>2 h). S-nitrosation efficiency increased with reaction time and reached a plateau at ~4 h. The maximum amount of NO loaded was determined to be about 0.6 mol SNO/mol protein (~30% loading efficiency). The enzymatic activity of bSOD, however, decreased with reaction time. Our data further indicate that NO functionality can only be measured in the presence of extremely high concentrations of Hg2+ or when the protein was denatured by guanidine. Moreover, mildly acidic pH was shown to favor S-nitrosation of bSOD. A model based on unfolding and refolding of bSOD during preparation was proposed to possibly explain our observation.  相似文献

This paper presents one wafer level packaging approach of quartz resonator based on through-silicon via (TSV) interposer with metal or polymer bonding sealing of frequency components. The proposed silicon-based package of quartz resonator adopts several three-dimensional (3D) core technologies, such as Cu TSVs, sealing bonding, and wafer thinning. It is different from conventional quartz resonator using ceramic-based package. With evaluation of mechanical structure design and package performances, this quartz resonator with advanced silicon-based package shows great manufacturability and excellent performance to replace traditional metal lid with ceramic-based interposer fabrication approach.  相似文献
