The B2 talus slide at the Jin’an Bridge hydropower station is located on the left bank of the Jinsha River and very close to the left abutment of the dam. The stability of the dam is directly influenced by the engineering geological properties, formation mechanisms, and failure modes of the B2 talus slide. This paper highlights the investigation and analysis of the in situ engineering geological conditions of the slide area. The results indicate that the B2 talus slide is composed of three parts: the talus deposits consisting of a soil-rock mixture (SRM) in the upper part, unloaded and relaxed rock mass in the middle part, and bedrock with several tuff interlayers in the lower part. Based on topographic and geomorphologic analyses, the structure of the rock and soil, distribution characteristics, formation mechanisms, and influencing factors, the strength of the SRM in the upper part and the properties of the tuff interlayer in the lower part are the main factors affecting the stability of the slide. Additionally, the failure modes of the slide are likely to be circular in nature in the talus deposits, broken line sliding along the interface between the unloaded and relaxed rock and the upper boundary of the tuff and broken line sliding along the tuff interlayer. The strength parameters of the SRM and the tuff interlayer were obtained through laboratory experiments and theoretical inverse analyses. Additionally, a three-dimensional geological model of the slide was created using the aforementioned results and the software GoCAD. Limit equilibrium and finite element methods were used to evaluate the stability of the slide using two-dimensional and three-dimensional models. The results indicate that the slope is stable under natural conditions. However, the slope may be unstable, under special conditions, such as artificial excavation, flood discharge atomization, rainstorms, and earthquakes.  相似文献

Hybrid nanofluid boundary layer flow past a stretching surface with zero mass flux boundary condition is explored in this article. The main aim of this article is to analyze the electromagnetohydrodynamic role in a hybrid nanofluid containing silver and molybdenum disulfide nanoparticles. The self-similar solution is embedded to reduce the governing partial differential equation into algebraic equations and a shooting algorithm is applied to obtain the solution of the resultant boundary value problem. Variation in momentum, energy, and nanoparticle concentration is explained through graphical profiles. Nusselt number and drag force coefficients are computed for various flow parameters and their impact on the nanofluid and hybrid nanofluid is computed and presented and explained in a comparative fashion. It is observed that the velocity profile shows the opposite nature with respect to the electric field and magnetic field. For electric field parameter velocity accelerates whereas for magnetic parameter velocity diminishes. Nusselt number increases with electric field parameter and nanoparticle volume fraction.  相似文献

In this paper we describe the collection and organization of the speaker recognition database in Indian scenario named as IITG Multivariability Speaker Recognition Database. The database contains speech from 451 speakers speaking English and other Indian languages both in conversational and read speech styles recorded using various sensors in parallel under different environmental conditions. The database is organized into four phases on the basis of different conditions employed for the recording. The results of the initial studies conducted on a speaker verification system exploring the impact of mismatch in training and test conditions using the collected data are also included. In the present study we made an effort to deploy eco-friendly synthesized reduced graphene oxide/Lanthanum Alluminate nanocomposites (RGO-LaAlO3) and Lanthanum Alluminate (LaAlO3) as adsorbents to remove dye from the synthetic media. XRD, SEM, BET surface area and EDX have been used to characterize the above-mentioned adsorbents. The impacts of different factors like adsorbent dosage, the concentration of adsorbate and PH on adsorption were studied. The best fit linear and nonlinear equations for the adsorption isotherms and kinetic models had been examined. The sum of the normalized errors and the coefficient of determination were used to determine the best fit model. The experimental data were more aptly fitted for nonlinear forms of isotherms and kinetic equations. Pseudo-second-order and Freundlich isotherm model fits the equilibrium data satisfactorily. Methyl orange (MO) has been used as model dye pollutant and maximum adsorption capacity was found to be 469.7 and 702.2 mg g?1 for LaAlO3 and RGO-LaAlO3, respectively.  相似文献

Hydroxyapatite (HAP) is the naturally occurring mineral form of calcium apatite and the most studied material as a bone substituent. Considering HAP's inherent properties, this study explored changes in HAP's characteristics from doping with other metals such as Fe. To form pure HAP and Fe-HAP with different amounts of Fe, we used the hydrothermal approach, and the composites that formed were thoroughly analyzed for their crystallinity, surface bonding, morphology, magnetic behavior, mechanical strength, biocompatibility, hemocompatibility, and in vitro cytotoxicity. The powder XRD studies confirmed the samples' crystallinity, and the lowest crystalline size was 19.7 nm in 10Fe-HAP. The FTIR analysis confirmed the formation of HAP by the hydroxyl, phosphate, and carbonate groups. The FESEM demonstrated that the morphology of the pure HAP was rod-shaped, which transformed into spheres after Fe doping. The EDS analysis confirmed the successful formation of HAP and Fe-HAP composites. The magnetic studies indicated the diamagnetic behavior of the pure HAP, while the Fe-doped HAPs had a superparamagnetic nature with saturation magnetizations (Ms) of 2Fe-HAP, 4Fe-HAP, and 10Fe-HAP at 0.0062, 0.0092, and 0.029 emu/g respectively. Assessment of the mechanical properties, biocompatibility, hemocompatibility, and cytotoxicity indicated that the Fe-doped HAPs were superior to the pure HAP, and among the Fe-HAPs, the 10Fe-HAP) had the highest amount of Fe and the best characteristics. The studies also indicated that Ca2+ interactions influenced the cells via HAP doping with that of Fe, equally increasing the physicochemical and biological properties.  相似文献

Numerous industrial and engineering systems, like, heat exchangers, chemical action reactors, geothermic systems, geological setups, and many others, involve convective heat transfer through a porous medium. The diffusion rate, drag force, and mechanical phenomenon are dealt with in the Darcy–Forchheimer model, and hence this model is vital to study the fluid flow and heat transport analysis. Therefore, numerical simulation of the Darcy–Forchheimer dynamics of a Casson material in a circular tube subjected to the energy losses due to the viscous heating and Joule dissipation mechanisms is performed. The novelty of the present investigation is to scrutinize the convective heat transport characteristics in a circular tube saturated with Darcy–Forchheimer porous matrix by utilizing the non-Newtonian Casson fluid. The flow occurs due to the elongation of the surface of a tube with a uniform heat-based source/sink. The similarity solution of the nonlinear problem was obtained using dimensionless similarity variables. The effects of operating parameters related to the flow phenomena are analyzed. Further, the friction factor and Nusselt number are also analyzed in detail. The present flow model ensures no flow reversal and acts as a coolant of the heated cylindrical surface; the existence of the magnetic field, as well as an inertial coefficient, acts as the momentum-breaking forces, whereas Casson fluidity builds it. The Joule heating phenomenon enhances the magnitude of temperature. The thermal field of the Casson fluid is higher at the surface of the circular pipe due to convective thermal conditions.  相似文献

In polar oxide interfaces phenomena such as superconductivity, magnetism, 1D conductivity, and quantum Hall states can emerge at the polar discontinuity. Combining controllable ferroelectricity at such interfaces can affect the superconducting properties and sheds light on the mutual effects between the polar oxide and the ferroelectric oxide. Here, the interface between the polar oxide LaAlO3 and the ferroelectric Ca-doped SrTiO3 is studied by means of electrical transport combined with local imaging of the current flow with the use of scanning a superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID). Anomalous behavior of the interface resistivity is observed at low temperatures. The scanning SQUID maps of the current flow suggest that this behavior originates from an intrinsic bias induced by the polar LaAlO3 layer. Such intrinsic bias combined with ferroelectricity can constrain the possible structural domain tiling near the interface. The use of this intrinsic bias is recommended as a method of controlling and tuning the initial state of ferroelectric materials by the design of the polar structure. The hysteretic dependence of the normal and the superconducting state properties on gate voltage can be utilized in multifaceted controllable memory devices.  相似文献
