Numerous industrial and engineering systems, like, heat exchangers, chemical action reactors, geothermic systems, geological setups, and many others, involve convective heat transfer through a porous medium. The diffusion rate, drag force, and mechanical phenomenon are dealt with in the Darcy–Forchheimer model, and hence this model is vital to study the fluid flow and heat transport analysis. Therefore, numerical simulation of the Darcy–Forchheimer dynamics of a Casson material in a circular tube subjected to the energy losses due to the viscous heating and Joule dissipation mechanisms is performed. The novelty of the present investigation is to scrutinize the convective heat transport characteristics in a circular tube saturated with Darcy–Forchheimer porous matrix by utilizing the non-Newtonian Casson fluid. The flow occurs due to the elongation of the surface of a tube with a uniform heat-based source/sink. The similarity solution of the nonlinear problem was obtained using dimensionless similarity variables. The effects of operating parameters related to the flow phenomena are analyzed. Further, the friction factor and Nusselt number are also analyzed in detail. The present flow model ensures no flow reversal and acts as a coolant of the heated cylindrical surface; the existence of the magnetic field, as well as an inertial coefficient, acts as the momentum-breaking forces, whereas Casson fluidity builds it. The Joule heating phenomenon enhances the magnitude of temperature. The thermal field of the Casson fluid is higher at the surface of the circular pipe due to convective thermal conditions.  相似文献

In the present study we made an effort to deploy eco-friendly synthesized reduced graphene oxide/Lanthanum Alluminate nanocomposites (RGO-LaAlO3) and Lanthanum Alluminate (LaAlO3) as adsorbents to remove dye from the synthetic media. XRD, SEM, BET surface area and EDX have been used to characterize the above-mentioned adsorbents. The impacts of different factors like adsorbent dosage, the concentration of adsorbate and PH on adsorption were studied. The best fit linear and nonlinear equations for the adsorption isotherms and kinetic models had been examined. The sum of the normalized errors and the coefficient of determination were used to determine the best fit model. The experimental data were more aptly fitted for nonlinear forms of isotherms and kinetic equations. Pseudo-second-order and Freundlich isotherm model fits the equilibrium data satisfactorily. Methyl orange (MO) has been used as model dye pollutant and maximum adsorption capacity was found to be 469.7 and 702.2 mg g?1 for LaAlO3 and RGO-LaAlO3, respectively.  相似文献

The nickel‐iron hydroxide‐like catalyst for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is prepared by an improved coprecipitation method. The crystallization degree of hydrotalcite‐like compound is high, and the lamellar structure is homogeneous with no agglomeration, which helps to build efficient mass‐transfer layer channel of OH? ions. The NiFe layered double hydroxide (LDH)/carbon nanotubes (CNTs) electrode shows good performance and stability for OER. The potential of NiFe LDH/CNTs electrode is only 0.592 V (vs HgO/Hg) at 200 mA·cm?2 in 6 mol·L?1 potassium hydroxide (KOH) electrolyte, which shows excellent catalytic activity for OER. The NiFe LDH/CNTs electrode works continuously for 620 hours at 200 mA·cm?2, with the groove voltage only rises 0.1 V.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to determine the impact that institutional logics and, more specifically, organisational culture can have on humanitarian supply chain (HSC) collaboration. A framework was developed that explicates buyer–supplier collaboration in a humanitarian setting. Twenty-nine semi-structured interviews were conducted with buyers and suppliers. The data indicated that in a HSC, collaborative outcomes, such as new product development, inventory management, and product/service delivery, are influenced by the buyers’ and suppliers’ organisational cultures. Based on suppliers’ characteristics, they can be classified as humanitarian suppliers, commercial suppliers, and humanitarian and commercial suppliers. These groups have distinct organisational cultures. An unexpected finding is that suppliers that serve commercial buyers primarily claim to have encountered no issues in supply chain collaboration with humanitarian buyers, although they have different types of organisational cultures. The factors that lead to successful collaboration are identified as trust, commitment, information sharing and mutual respect. Simultaneously, dominant institutional logics are observed in the dyadic relationship.  相似文献

In polar oxide interfaces phenomena such as superconductivity, magnetism, 1D conductivity, and quantum Hall states can emerge at the polar discontinuity. Combining controllable ferroelectricity at such interfaces can affect the superconducting properties and sheds light on the mutual effects between the polar oxide and the ferroelectric oxide. Here, the interface between the polar oxide LaAlO3 and the ferroelectric Ca-doped SrTiO3 is studied by means of electrical transport combined with local imaging of the current flow with the use of scanning a superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID). Anomalous behavior of the interface resistivity is observed at low temperatures. The scanning SQUID maps of the current flow suggest that this behavior originates from an intrinsic bias induced by the polar LaAlO3 layer. Such intrinsic bias combined with ferroelectricity can constrain the possible structural domain tiling near the interface. The use of this intrinsic bias is recommended as a method of controlling and tuning the initial state of ferroelectric materials by the design of the polar structure. The hysteretic dependence of the normal and the superconducting state properties on gate voltage can be utilized in multifaceted controllable memory devices.  相似文献

This paper presents a hand gesture based control of an omnidirectional wheelchair using inertial measurement unit (IMU) and myoelectric units as wearable sensors. Seven common gestures are recognized and classified using shape based feature extraction and Dendogram Support Vector Machine (DSVM) classifier. The dynamic gestures are mapped to the omnidirectional motion commands to navigate the wheelchair. A single IMU is used to measure the wrist tilt angle and acceleration in three axis. EMG signals are extracted from two forearm muscles namely Extensor Carpi Radialis and Flexor Carpi Radialis and processed to provide Root Mean Square (RMS) signal. Initiation and termination of dynamic activities are based on autonomous identification of static to dynamic or dynamic to static transition by setting static thresholds on processed IMU and myoelectric sensor data. Classification involves recognizing the activity pattern based on periodic shape of trajectories of the triaxial wrist tilt angle and EMG-RMS from the two selected muscles. Second order Polynomial coefficients extracted from the sensor trajectory templates during specific dynamic activity cycles are used as features to classify dynamic activities. Classification algorithm and real time navigation of the wheelchair using the proposed algorithm has been tested by five healthy subjects. Classification accuracy of 94% was achieved by DSVM classifier on ‘k’ fold cross validation data of 5 users. Classification accuracy while operating the wheelchair was 90.5%.  相似文献

Graphene conductive ink based microstrip line fed circular patch is presented in this paper. The main objective of this work is to replace copper with graphene which is an emerging promising material, in the field of patch antennas with conventional rigid substrates using a simple printing technique and to measure its performance. The prototyped screen printed graphene antenna is perfectly radiating and the return loss, VSWR and gain of the graphene antenna is found to be better than conventional copper antenna. Also, the bandwidth of the graphene antenna is 1.6 times greater than that of the conventional copper antenna on rigid substrate.

A junction device has been fabricated by growing p-type Bi2Te3 topological insulator (TI) film on an n-type silicon (Si) substrate using a thermal evaporation technique. Annealing using different temperatures and durations was employed to improve the quality of the film, as confirmed by microstructural study using x-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The pn diode characteristics of the junction devices were studied, and the effect of annealing investigated. An improved diode characteristic with good rectification ratio (RR) was observed for devices annealed for longer duration. Reduction in the leakage or reverse saturation current (\( I_{\rm{R}} \)) was observed with increase in the annealing temperature. The forward-bias current (\( I_{\rm{F}} \)) dropped in devices annealed above 400°C. The best results were observed for the sample device annealed at 450°C for 3 h, showing figure of merit (FOM) of 0.621 with RR ≈ 504 and \( I_{\rm{R}} \) = 0.25 μA. In terms of ideality factor, the sample device annealed at 550°C for 2 h was found to be the best with \( n \) = 6.5, RR ≈ 52.4, \( I_{\rm{R}} \) = 0.61 μA, and FOM = 0.358. The majority-carrier density \( \left( {N_{\rm{A}} } \right) \) in the p-Bi2Te3 film of the heterojunction was found to be on the order of 109/cm3 to 1011/cm3, quite close to its intrinsic carrier concentration. These results are significant for fundamental understanding of device applications of TI materials as well as future applications in solar cells.  相似文献
