Radiation damage due to 1 and 5 keV collision cascades in Fe90Cr10 in the presence of 0.1%, 0.5% and 1.0% He defects, relevant for fusion reactor steels, has been studied using molecular dynamics simulations. We show that with 0.1% interstitial He the effect on the damage production in the FeCr matrix is minor, while with 1.0% He, the number of Frenkel pairs is significantly increased in comparison to pure FeCr. The positions of the He interstitials and clusters depend on the Cr atoms and the amount of He inside the cascade region is increased by about 30% due to the cascade. With substitutional He less damage is formed in the FeCr matrix due to cascades.  相似文献

Samples of low-density polyethylene, free from additives, were kept at temperatures between 284° and 355°C under nitrogen containing 1.16% oxygen or less. Changes in molecular weight distribution (MWD) and degree of long-chain branching (LCB) were followed by gel chromatography (GPC) and viscosity measurements. Other structural changes were investigated by infrared spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Both chain scission and molecular enlargement occur simultaneously. Chain scission accounts for the formation of low molecular weight material and volatiles. Molecular enlargement reactions cause an increase in LCB and ultimately the formation of insoluble material. At lower temperatures (284°C) an increase in the high molecular weight end of the MWD is observed. The amount of olefinic unsaturation, carbonyl, and ether groups increase with degradation. Conjugated systems are formed. The formation of thin discolored and insoluble surface layers indicate that the attack of oxygen is diffusion controlled. The DSC thermograms undergo large changes at 333° and 355°C, increasing with time and oxygen content. A reaction scheme for the thermo-oxidative degradation of polyethylene is discussed. Both inter- and intramolecular hydrogen abstractions by peroxy radicals are suggested to occur. Thus, the formation of trans-vinylene and ether groups results from intramolecular abstraction, while internal carbonyl groups are formed by intermolecular abstraction. Chain scission will be accomplished by both routes and together with “back-biting” is suggested to accoun for the formation of volatiles. The formation of conjugated sequences causing discoloration is correlated with the formation of trans-vinylene groups. Because of the restricted accessability of oxygen under our conditions, the reactions discussed previously for pure thermal degradation1 are also considered to be important. The molecular enlargement observed is thus proposed to be mainly due to the combination of alkyl radicals even when oxygen is present.  相似文献

We present a new x-ray Raman spectroscopy end-station recently developed, installed, and operated at the Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Lightsource. The end-station is located at wiggler beamline 6-2 equipped with two monochromators-Si(111) and Si(311) as well as collimating and focusing optics. It consists of two multi-crystal Johann type spectrometers arranged on intersecting Rowland circles of 1 m diameter. The first one, positioned at the forward scattering angles (low-q), consists of 40 spherically bent and diced Si(110) crystals with 100 mm diameters providing about 1.9% of 4π sr solid angle of detection. When operated in the (440) order in combination with the Si (311) monochromator, an overall energy resolution of 270 meV is obtained at 6462.20 eV. The second spectrometer, consisting of 14 spherically bent Si(110) crystal analyzers (not diced), is positioned at the backward scattering angles (high-q) enabling the study of non-dipole transitions. The solid angle of this spectrometer is about 0.9% of 4π sr, with a combined energy resolution of 600 meV using the Si (311) monochromator. These features exceed the specifications of currently existing relevant instrumentation, opening new opportunities for the routine application of this photon-in/photon-out hard x-ray technique to emerging research in multidisciplinary scientific fields, such as energy-related sciences, material sciences, physical chemistry, etc.  相似文献

通过对发酵棉籽粕效果优良菌株的筛选、鉴定及其复合发酵最适工艺条件的研究,探讨发酵对棉籽粕脱毒效果及粗蛋白(crude protein,CP)含量等的影响.筛选并利用三株发酵效果优良的菌株(两株酵母和一株霉菌)对棉籽粕底物进行发酵,结果表明:与发酵前相比,底物中游离棉酚(free gossypol,FG)含量显著降低(P<0.05),并显著提高了CP含量(P<0.05).经工艺优化试验研究,得到较为理想的发酵工艺条件:底物组成为棉籽粕70%、玉米20%、糖蜜10%,添加3%硫酸铵,底物与水比例为1:0.6,三菌种(S1:S3:S6)接种比例为3:3:2,接种量为5%,自然pH.  相似文献

This paper presents results from large-scale four-point bending tests of 12″ X65 seamless pipes with circumferential defects subjected to different levels of internal pressure. The aim of the tests has been to investigate the effect of biaxial loading on the strain capacity of the pipes. The results from the tests show a significant effect of the biaxial loading. For cases without internal pressure, the pipes fail due to local buckling on the compression side of the pipe. Upon application of internal pressure the failure mode shifts to fracture from the defect on the tension side. The failure bending strain levels for these cases were 1.5–2.25%, whereas the local buckling occurred at strain levels in the range of 3.5–4%. The main reason for this appears to be that the biaxial loading increases the crack driving force for a given applied strain level. No significant effect of the biaxial loading on the ductile tearing resistance was observed. The results are of great importance for fracture assessment of pressurised pipelines loaded into the plastic region, as the biaxial loading effect observed is not accounted for in current fracture assessment procedures.  相似文献

This study examined whether the cognitive profile of subjects with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) with vascular disease differs from that of MCI subjects with no vascular disease. Consecutive MCI subjects with vascular disease (n=60) and matched MCI subjects with no vascular disease (n=60) were included in the study and were compared with healthy control subjects (n=60). The neuropsychological assessment comprised tests of speed and attention, episodic memory, visuospatial function, language, and executive function. Control subjects performed significantly better than did both MCI groups on the neuropsychological battery. MCI subjects with no vascular disease performed better overall than did MCI subjects with vascular disease, most clearly on tests of speed and attention, visuospatial function, and executive function. MCI subjects with and without vascular disease exhibited differences, both in terms of overall performance and of cognitive profiles. These differences can be largely explained by deficits in speed and attention and in executive function of the MCI subjects with vascular disease. Endothelin (ET)-1, alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (alpha-melanotropin; alpha-MSH), and basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) are keratinocyte-derived factors that interact synergistically to stimulate human melanocyte proliferation. ET-1 has a dose-dependent mitogenic effect on human melanocytes and a biphasic effect on melanogenesis: a stimulatory effect at subnanomolar concentrations, and an inhibitory effect at concentrations equal to or higher than 1 nM. Human melanocytes express ET B receptors. Brief treatment of melanocytes with ET-1 caused up-regulation of alpha-MSH receptor mRNA but did not alter ET B receptor mRNA level. ET-1 modulates the response of human melanocytes to UV rays (UVRs). Treatment of melanocytes with 10 nM ET-1 immediately after exposure to UVRs enabled them to overcome the G1 growth arrest. However, ET-1 did not inhibit p53 accumulation or p21(Waf-1/SDI-1/Cip-1) overexpression, nor did it reverse the hypophosphorylated state of pRb or the reduction in Bcl2 level in irradiated melanocytes. These results substantiate the role of ET-1 as a paracrine regulator that modulates the response of human melanocytes to UVRs.  相似文献

When the effect of the kairomone, tricosane, on parasitization byTrichogramma achaeae Nagaraja and Nagarkatti of eggs ofHeliothis zea (Boddie) was studied in petri dish tests, the greatest percentage parasitization ( = 64%) was obtained if the entire filter paper was treated. Treatment of smaller areas (about the eggs) resulted in decreased parasitism. In the greenhouse, highest parasitization ( = 71%) byT. pretiosum (Riley) ofH. zea eggs placed on pea seedlings grown in pie pans was obtained if the whole pan was treated; lowest parasitism ( = 29%) occurred when the pans were untreated. Parasitization was intermediate ( = 52%) in other pans treated only at selected spots. Dissections ofH. zea eggs collected from kairomonetreated and untreated field plots revealed that eggs ofTrichogramma spp. were more efficiently distributed (less superparasitism) among host eggs in treated plots.
