This research aims to study the effect of ammonium polyphosphate and expandable graphite on the intumescent coating formulations (ICF). The coating presented in this research article is based on carbon source expandable graphite (EG), blowing agent melamine, acid source ammonium polyphosphate (APP), epoxy resin as a binder with polyamide amine. The stability of the developed coating was verified at 950°C for 1-hour fire test. The results showed that the coating is stable and well bond with the steel substrate. The char was characterized by using FESEM, XRD, FTIR, DTA, TGA, XPS, Py-GCMS and Weathering Test. The morphology of the char was studied by SEM of the coating after furnace fire test. XRD and FTIR show the presence of graphite, borophosphate; boron oxide and sassolite in the residual char. TGA and DTG disclosed that EG improved the residual mass of coating. XPS analysis showed the char residue of IF5-APP-EG contains carbon and oxygen contents 47.50 and 40.70, respectively. Py-GCMS analysis described that the IF5-APP-EG released less gaseous compounds. The weathering test illustrated that's the char expansion of coatings samples was decreased due to the presence of a humid environment and UV light. The IF5-APP-EG showed the maximum char expansion, lower substrate temperature and high residual weight among the studied formulations.  相似文献

This study investigates the relationship between carbon emissions, income, energy consumption, and foreign trade in Pakistan for the period 1972–2008. By employing the Johansen method of cointegration, the study finds that there is a quadratic long-run relationship between carbon emissions and income, confirming the existence of Environmental Kuznets Curve for Pakistan. Moreover, both energy consumption and foreign trade are found to have positive effects on emissions. The short-run results have, however, denied the existence of the Environmental Kuznets Curve. The short-run results are unique to the existing literature in the sense that none of the long-run determinants of emissions is significant. The contradictory results of short- and long-run give policy makers the opportunity to formulate different types of growth policies for the two terms taking environmental issues into consideration. In addition, the uni-directional causality from growth to energy consumption suggests that the policy makers should not only focus on forecasting future demand for energy with different growth scenarios but also on obtaining the least cost energy. Furthermore, the absence of causality from emissions to growth suggests that Pakistan can curb its carbon emissions without disturbing its economic growth.  相似文献

The View Selection Problem is an optimization problem designed to enhance query performance through the pre-computation and storage of select views given resource constraints. Assuring the materialized views can be updated within a reasonable time frame has become a chief concern for recent models. However, these methods are crafted simply to fit a solution within a feasible range and not to minimize the resource intensive maintenance process. In this paper, we submit two novel advances in terms of model formulation and solution generation to reduce maintenance costs. Our proposed model, the Minimum-Maintenance View Selection Problem, combines previous techniques to minimize and constrain update costs. Furthermore, we define a series of maintenance time reducing principles in solution generation embodied in a constructor heuristic. The model and constructor heuristic are evaluated using an existing clinical data warehouse and state-of-the-art heuristics. Our analysis shows our model produces the lowest-cost solution relative to extant models. Also, they indicate algorithms seeded with our constructor heuristic to be superior solutions to all other methods tested.  相似文献

This paper extends the winding function theory for nonuniform air gap in rotating electric machinery. It shows that the winding function differs from that used in the symmetrical case, although several papers employ the uniform air-gap winding function to study electric motor performance under fault conditions. The extended theory will be particularly helpful in the study of squirrel-cage induction motors with a nonuniform air gap such as that caused by eccentricity of the rotor and stator.  相似文献

Y3Fe5O12 (YIG) prepared by conventional solid-state method can rarely be of high purity. However, this study suggests that high purity YIG can be produced via conventional solid-state methods, through stoichiometry modification. This is achieved by adding various amounts of excess Fe2O3 to control the YIG stoichiometric ratios. In this work, ferrite and yttria were calcined at 1100 °C (for 8 h) and sintered at 1420 °C (6 h). In most samples, the formation of YIG, with YFeO3 (YIP) and/or Fe2O3 as associated phases were detected. Uniform microstructures of YIG are also observed. YIP phase in YIG is found to be inversely related to the addition of excess Fe2O3, up to 8 wt%. At above 8 wt% Fe2O3 addition, YIP disappears, leaving unreacted excess Fe2O3 as a new associated phase. From the investigation, it is safe to conclude that the purity of YIG can be increased with the addition of excess Fe2O3.  相似文献

For maintaining security of distance relays, power swing blocking is necessary to prevent unintended operation under power swings. To be dependable, distance relays must operate whenever a fault occurs. Therefore, detecting faults during power swings is an important issue since the relay should be able to differentiate the fault condition and not be blocked during that time. This paper presents a new method for detecting a symmetrical fault during a power swing, based on extracting components of the current waveform using the Prony method. The merit of the method is demonstrated by simulating different faults during power swing conditions using the Alternate Transients Program version of the Electromagnetic Transients Program.  相似文献

This paper presents and examines a self-excited tubular induction generator for a free-piston generator system. The induction generator utilizes flux concentration by eddy currents. The paper shows that leakage flux is thereby reduced in the proposed generator and its performance is greatly improved. A three-dimensional finite-element method is employed to investigate its performance. A comparison of the calculated and measured results for standstill thrust force confirms the validity of the model.  相似文献

Experimentally measured optical properties of photonic crystal LEDs are reported here. Photonic crystal and photonic quasi-crystal structures were fabricated on GaN epilayer LED wafer material using both direct-write electron beam lithography and nanoimprint lithography. Some of these structures were processed to make finished LEDs. Both electroluminescence and photoluminescence measurements were performed on these structures. Devices were characterized for their current-voltage characteristics, emission spectra, far-field emission pattern, and angular emission pattern. These results are useful for fabricating photonic crystal LEDs and assessing their operational properties.  相似文献
