Attempts to improve the efficacy of pretransplant conditioning regimens have been published, the potential of a better antileukemic effect being impaired by more frequent and severe toxicities. The efficacy of an intensified regimen, TAM (TBI, high-dose cytosine arabinoside and melphalan), is evaluated by analyzing long-term follow-up of a homogenous group of 42 high-risk ALL patients allografted in first CR. Age at time of BMT was 25.9 +/- 10.4 years (3-41). Twenty-two patients had more than three adverse prognostic factors. Ten patients had a Ph chromosome. Probability of overall survival was 45 +/- 9%, and for all surviving patients median follow-up time was 66 months. Event-free survival was 40 +/- 8% at 7 years after transplantation and the expected relapse rate reached 31%. Twenty-two deaths occurred, six after a relapse but 16 appeared to be directly due to the BMT procedure. None of the pretransplant characteristics significantly affected outcome after BMT. TAM appeared to be an efficient antileukemic therapy for conditioning high-risk ALL patients before allogeneic transplantation, but was still very toxic. The use of TAM in adult ALL patients in first CR is not recommended and the real role of intensified conditioning regimens remains to be demonstrated. 相似文献

EPR dose reconstruction after accidental photon exposure based on materials irradiated in the vicinity of the victim (sucrose, medicine tablets, etc.) was used successfully in several cases referenced in the literature. However, accidental exposure may also occur with a neutron component such as in the Tokai-Mura criticality accident. The aim of this work is to investigate the potentiality of EPR dosimetry for mixed photon and neutron field exposure with different organic materials already used for photon exposure (sucrose) or with potential dosimetric properties (ascorbic acid, sorbitol, glucose, galactose, fructose, lactose and mannose). To assess the neutron sensitivity, the materials were exposed to a mixed radiation field of an experimental reactor with different neutron to photon ratios. The relative neutron sensitivity was found to range from 12 to 43% according to the materials. The potentiality of these materials for mixed field EPR dosimetry is discussed. 相似文献

The total phenolics, anthocyanins, flavan 3‐ols, carotenoids and antioxidant capacity of mashua (Tropaeolum tuberosum Ruiz & Pavón) tubers from 10 yellow and purple cultivars were determined at different maturity stages (5–7.5 months after planting) and sunning post‐harvest storage periods (7–35 days). Both the antioxidant capacity (ORAC and ABTS assays) and the content of the bioactive compounds tested varied markedly between cultivars. Purple varieties reached the highest antioxidant capacity during tuber development (271–446 µmol Trolox equiv g?1 DM, ORAC assay). The kinetics of accumulation or disappearance of the bioactive compounds tested during maturation was dependent both on the cultivar and on the compound considered. For anthocyanins, there was a marked increase during maturation in all the purple cultivars. During the sunning post‐harvest storage, the changes in antioxidant capacity (ABTS assay) and content of the bioactive compounds tested also varied between cultivars. A marked decrease in anthocyanins was observed for the anthocyanin‐containing cultivars. In general, the correlation between antioxidant capacity and the content of bioactive compounds varied markedly between cultivars. Antioxidant capacity in purple varieties correlated with total phenolics or flavan 3‐ols while only in some yellow varieties antioxidant capacity correlated with total phenolics. Mg2AlNiXHZOY nano-oxyhydrides formation is evidenced during pre-treatment in H2 at 450 °C of Mg2AlNiXOY nano-compounds leading to highly performant catalysts in ethanol conversion and H2 formation, particularly at low temperature, through catalytic steam reforming (SRE) and oxidative steam reforming (OSRE). Total conversion of ethanol is obtained in SRE and OSRE with high stability. A higher production of H2 (60 L h?1 gcat?1) can be achieved at a reaction temperature of 300 °C in OSRE conditions compared to SRE (10 L h?1 gcat?1) mainly because of a beneficial use of a high concentration of ethanol (14 mol%) in presence of O2. Moreover, carbon formation is decreased and a much lower input of energy of 50 °C is used to get a temperature of 300 °C when O2 is added. Different physico-chemical characterizations and in particular in H2 (TPR, H2-XRD, INS) and after tests allow to conclude that the presence of Ni2+ cations in strong interaction with other cations, anionic vacancies and hydride species on and inside the solid play an important role in the catalytic performance (conversion and selectivity) and stability. 相似文献

A great deal of uncertainty still exists about intermediate metabolites and pathways explaining the biohydrogenation (BH) of 20- and 22-carbon polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA). Therefore, this study was conducted to provide further insight into the ruminal metabolism of 20:5 n-3 (EPA), 22:5 n-3 (DPA), and 22:6 n-3 (DHA), the main n-3 PUFA present in the marine lipids used in dairy ruminant feeding, and to examine potential differences between bovine and ovine. To meet this aim, we investigated the 20- and 22-carbon metabolites accumulated during in vitro incubation of EPA, DPA, and DHA with rumen inocula from cows and ewes. The PUFA were added at a dose of 2% incubated dry matter and digesta samples were analyzed after 24 h of incubation using complementary gas-liquid chromatography of fatty acid methyl esters and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry of 4,4-dimethyloxazoline derivatives. Results suggested that the main BH pathway of EPA and DPA would proceed via the reduction of the double bond closest to the carboxyl group (cis-5 in EPA and cis-7 in DPA); curiously, this mechanism seemed of much lower importance for DHA. Thus, DPA would not be a major intermediate product of DHA and their BH might actually follow separate pathways, with the accumulation of numerous unique metabolites in each case. A principal component analysis supported this hypothesis, with a clear separation between PUFA treatments in the score and loading plots. Within EPA and DPA groups, cow and ewe samples loaded separately from each other but not distant. No conjugated 20:5, 22:5, or 22:6 isomer compatible with the initial product of EPA, DPA, or DHA metabolism, respectively, was identified in the ruminal digesta, although this would not unequivocally exclude their transient formation. In this regard, results from DPA incubations provided the first indication that the metabolism of this very long chain PUFA may involve the formation of conjugated double bond structures. The BH of EPA, DPA, and DHA resulted in the appearance of several tentative trans-10–containing metabolites, showing a general trend to be more abundant in the digesta of ewes than in that of cows. This finding was speculated to have some relationship with the susceptibility of dairy sheep to marine lipid-induced milk fat depression. Differences in the relative proportion of intermediate products would also suggest an influence of ruminant species on BH kinetics, with a process that would likely be slower and less complete in cows than in ewes. 相似文献

A two-stage sorting task was used to probe Californian consumers’ opinions of twenty-five extra virgin olive oils based on visual assessments of the bottles. The modification of the simple sorting task aimed to encourage consumers to further discriminate products through sub-groupings of products within the groups they had already made. Sorting data were analyzed using a 3-way extension of classical multidimensional scaling called DISTATIS which explores the level of consumer agreement as well as the structure of the extra virgin olive oil products. Consumer agreements were explained by 46% of the variances found in the ways consumers sorted the bottles. Decreased amount of explained variance from the first stage to the second stage of the sorting task was observed in the olive oil product structures. Consumers were asked to describe the characteristics defining each group formed. Consumer comments were analyzed qualitatively prior to statistical analysis and were later used to understand the sorting results. Despite background differences in the usage of olive oil products, the majority of the consumers perceived the product set similarly. The two-stage sorting task allowed subjects to provide more criteria or multidimensional views of their perception of the products. 相似文献

Iterative fast Fourier transform methods are useful for calculating the fields in composite materials and their macroscopic response. By iterating back and forth until convergence, the differential constraints are satisfied in Fourier space and the constitutive law in real space. The methods correspond to series expansions of appropriate operators and to series expansions for the effective tensor as a function of the component moduli. It is shown that the singularity structure of this function can shed much light on the convergence properties of the iterative fast Fourier transform methods. We look at a model example of a square array of conducting square inclusions for which there is an exact formula for the effective conductivity (Obnosov). Theoretically, some of the methods converge when the inclusions have zero or even negative conductivity. However, the numerics do not always confirm this extended range of convergence and show that accuracy is lost after relatively few iterations. There is little point in iterating beyond this. Accuracy improves when the grid size is reduced, showing that the discrepancy is linked to the discretization. Finally, it is shown that none of the 3 iterative schemes investigated overperforms the others for all possible microstructures and all contrasts. 相似文献
