Thienoacenes consist of fused thiophene rings in a ladder-type molecular structure and have been intensively studied as potential organic semiconductors for organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) in the last decade. They are reviewed here. Despite their simple and similar molecular structures, the hitherto reported properties of thienoacene-based OFETs are rather diverse. This Review focuses on four classes of thienoacenes, which are classified in terms of their chemical structures, and elucidates the molecular electronic structure of each class. The packing structures of thienoacenes and the thus-estimated solid-state electronic structures are correlated to their carrier transport properties in OFET devices. With this perspective of the molecular structures of thienoacenes and their carrier transport properties in OFET devices, the structure-property relationships in thienoacene-based organic semiconductors are discussed. The discussion provides insight into new molecular design strategies for the development of superior organic semiconductors.  相似文献

Early osseointegration is important to achieve initial stability after implant placement. We have previously reported that atmospheric-pressure plasma treatment confers superhydrophilicity to titanium. Herein, we examined the effects of titanium implant material, which was conferred superhydrophilicity by atmospheric-pressure plasma treatment, on the surrounding tissue in rat femur. Control and experimental groups included untreated screws and those irradiated with atmospheric-pressure plasma using piezobrush, respectively. The femurs of 8-week-old male Sprague-Dawley rats were used for in vivo experiments. Various data prepared from the Micro-CT analysis showed results showing that more new bone was formed in the test group than in the control group. Similar results were shown in histological analysis. Thus, titanium screw, treated with atmospheric-pressure plasma, could induce high hard tissue differentiation even at the in vivo level. This method may be useful to achieve initial stability after implant placement.  相似文献

Racemic 8-[2-(2-pentyl-cyclopropylmethyl)-cyclopropyl]-octanoic acid (DCP-LA), a linoleic acid derivative with cyclopropane rings instead of cis-double bonds, contains possible four diastereomers such as α,α-, α,β-, β,α-, and β,β-DCP-LA. The present study examined the effect of racemic and diastereomeric DCP-LA on age-related learning and memory disorders using accelerated-senescence-prone mice 8 (SAMP8) and accelerated-senescence-resistant mice 1 (SAMR1). In the water maze test, the acquisition and retention latencies for SAMP8 mice were significantly longer than the latency for SAMR1 mice, indicating spatial learning and memory impairment for SAMP8 mice. All the racemic (1?mg/kg, per os) and diastereomeric DCP-LA (0.25?mg/kg, per os) significantly shortened the acquisition latency for SAMP8 mice, and racemic, α,α- and α,β-DCP-LA significantly shortened the retention latency, with the advantage greater than the acetylcholine (ACh) esterase inhibitor galanthamine. The results of the present study show that all the racemic and diastereomeric DCP-LA, has the potential to improve age-related learning and memory deterioration, the potential varying among them.  相似文献

Protein labeling and imaging techniques have provided tremendous opportunities to study the structure, function, dynamics, and localization of individual proteins in the complex environment of living cells. Molecular biology-based approaches, such as GFP-fusion tags and monoclonal antibodies, have served as important tools for the visualization of individual proteins in cells. Although these techniques continue to be valuable for live cell imaging, they have a number of limitations that have only been addressed by recent progress in chemistry-based approaches. These chemical approaches benefit greatly from the smaller probe sizes that should result in fewer perturbations to proteins and to biological systems as a whole. Despite the research in this area, so far none of these labeling techniques permit labeling and imaging of selected endogenous proteins in living cells. Researchers have widely used affinity labeling, in which the protein of interest is labeled by a reactive group attached to a ligand, to identify and characterize proteins. Since the first report of affinity labeling in the early 1960s, efforts to fine-tune the chemical structures of both the reactive group and ligand have led to protein labeling with excellent target selectivity in the whole proteome of living cells. Although the chemical probes used for affinity labeling generally inactivate target proteins, this strategy holds promise as a valuable tool for the labeling and imaging of endogenous proteins in living cells and by extension in living animals. In this Account, we summarize traceless affinity labeling, a technique explored mainly in our laboratory. In our overview of the different labeling techniques, we emphasize the challenge of designing chemical probes that allow for dissociation of the affinity module (often a ligand) after the labeling reaction so that the labeled protein retains its native function. This feature distinguishes the traceless labeling approach from the traditional affinity labeling method and allows for real-time monitoring of protein activity. With the high target specificity and biocompatibility of this technique, we have achieved individual labeling and imaging of endogenously expressed proteins in samples of high biological complexity. We also highlight applications in which our current approach enabled the monitoring of important biological events, such as ligand binding, in living cells. These novel chemical labeling techniques are expected to provide a molecular toolbox for studying a wide variety of proteins and beyond in living cells.  相似文献

The lithium storage properties of graphene nanosheet (GNS) materials as high capacity anode materials for rechargeable lithium secondary batteries (LIB) were investigated. Graphite is a practical anode material used for LIB, because of its capability for reversible lithium ion intercalation in the layered crystals, and the structural similarities of GNS to graphite may provide another type of intercalation anode compound. While the accommodation of lithium in these layered compounds is influenced by the layer spacing between the graphene nanosheets, control of the intergraphene sheet distance through interacting molecules such as carbon nanotubes (CNT) or fullerenes (C60) might be crucial for enhancement of the storage capacity. The specific capacity of GNS was found to be 540 mAh/g, which is much larger than that of graphite, and this was increased up to 730 mAh/g and 784 mAh/g, respectively, by the incorporation of macromolecules of CNT and C60 to the GNS.  相似文献

We established a novel system using denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) to quickly identify bacteria known to be responsible for spoilage in meat processing plants and meat products. We extracted bacterial DNA from swabbed samples at various locations in the plant and from meat products and performed PCR amplification, targeting 16S rDNA from the dominant organisms. The amplification products were subjected to DGGE, and the contaminating bacteria in the meat products and the plant were analyzed. This analysis indicated that lactic acid bacteria and spoilage-causing bacteria are widely distributed within the meat processing plant. We developed molecular size markers to identify the dominant organisms obtained from the plant and meat products. The establishment of the present method allows quick and simple identification of bacteria causing the possible deterioration of products and contamination and thus permits constant monitoring of any harmful bacteria within meat processing plants.  相似文献

The tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) provides an attractive means of producing foreign peptides in plants. In this study, a TMV-based vector was designed such that a fragment encoding 15 amino acids of the poliovirus peptide (PVP) derived from the viral capsid proteins VP3 and VP1 of poliovirus type 1 Sabin was inserted downstream of the six-base 3' context nucleotide sequence of the TMV coat protein (CP) gene. This design allowed readthrough at the amber stop codon, thereby producing the chimeric TMV particle with both intact CP and CP-fusion protein (CP-PVP) in Nicotiana tabacum cv. Samsun infected with the TMV vector. The TMVCP-PVP virus particle induced antibodies against PVP as well as TMVCP in mice after intraperitoneal immunization. These data illustrate the potential of the readthrough translation system with TMVCP for antigen presentation and vaccine production.  相似文献

The solubilities of copper, arsenic, antimony, and bismuth in silica-saturated iron silicate slag, equilibrated with molten copper which included the corresponding element, were measured at temperatures 1473 and 1523 K under oxygen pressures ranging from 10−1 to 10−7 atm. The results confirm that copper is dissolved as CuO0.5 in silica-saturated fayalite slag. Dissolution of As, Sb, and Bi was found to be dependent upon the oxygen potential, suggesting oxidic rather than atomic dissolution. The data obtained also support models in which these elements exist in the slag mainly as two different types of oxides, but occasionally these oxides coexist with neutral atoms. Based on these models, equations were obtained that related the solubilities of these elements in the slags to the oxygen potential in them. The knowledge obtained in this investigation will be helpful in eliminating deleterious minor elements in copper smelting.  相似文献

The service restoration to sound sections within a short period as much as possible, performed after the permanent fault occurs in a distribution system, is significant for maintaining power supply reliability. This paper proposes an efficient method to find service restoration procedures based on fault searching and the optimal work scheduling of crews, considering the power supply priorities of loads and the probability of occurrence of faults. The proposed method is composed of two-stage problems to reduce the outage sections efficiently: (i) the problem to find a series of searching procedures for unknown fault locations in the first stage and (ii) the optimization problem of work schedules of crews in the second stage. In the first stage, the order of operation of switches opened for searching for the fault direction is determined, constituting the searching tree. After that, the proposed optimization method can efficiently solve the work scheduling problem by formulating it as a mixed-integer linear programming problem in the second stage. The computational experiments using a large-scale distribution system model with many remote and manual switches show that the proposed method can provide efficient service restoration procedures within a reasonable computational time.  相似文献
