A series of novel poly(ether-ester)s modified with fumaric moieties is synthesized by transesterification in the melt of dimethyl terephthalate (DMT), dimethyl fumarate (DMF), 1,4-butanediol (BD) and poly(tetramethylene oxide) (PTMO, M?n=1000 g/mol). The effect of the introduction of double bonds into both the hard and soft segments and their content on the structure and the thermal and rheological properties of the synthesized polymers are investigated. The introduction of double bonds into the polymer main chains increases the molecular weight of the copolyesters, but reduces the crystallinity of the hard segments and related properties such as modulus and hardness. The presence of double bonds improves the high temperature properties and thermal stability, especially the thermo-oxidative one, lowers the melting and crystallization temperature and increases the glass transition temperature. The incorporation of fumaric moieties into the macrochains improves the adhesive strength of the polymer to a metal surface.  相似文献

The antioxidant activity of different Satureja montana L. subsp. kitaibelii extracts was tested by measuring their ability to scavenge reactive hydroxyl radical during the Fenton reaction, using ESR spectroscopy. Also, the influence of these extracts on lipid peroxyl radicals obtained during lipid peroxidation of: (I) sunflower oil (37 ºC, 3h) induced by 4,4′-azobis(4-cyanovaleric acid) (ACVA) and (II) liposomes induced by 2,2′-azobis(2- amidino-propane)dihydrochloride (AAPH) was studied. n-Butanol extract had the best antioxidant activity (100% at 0.5 mg/mL in Fenton reaction system; 89.21% at 5 mg/mL in system I; 83.38% at 5 mg/mL in system II). The antioxidant activities of the extracts significantly correlated with total phenolic content. The antimicrobial activity of Satureja montana L. subsp. kitaibelii extracts was investigated. Petroleum ether, chloroform and ethyl acetate extracts expressed a wide range of inhibiting activity against both grampositive and gram-negative bacteria.  相似文献

The production of Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells enriched with copper and the effects of adding copper ions to different media on yeast cell growth and ethanol production were studied. In the media Cu(2+) concentrations of up to 0.094 mM had no effect on alcoholic fermentation, whereas higher Cu(2+) concentrations markedly decreased yeast cell growth rate and ethanol production. Under static conditions, the maximum amounts of copper uptake (i.e., 1.16 mg/g, 1.2 mg/g and 0.81 mg/g dry matter yeast biomass for glucose, sucrose and molasses media, respectively) were obtained after 8 h of fermentation, whereas under dynamic conditions smaller amounts of copper uptake (i.e., 0.98 mg/g, 1.02 mg/g and 0.7 mg/g dry matter yeast biomass for glucose, sucrose and molasses media, respectively) were obtained after 6 h of fermentation.  相似文献

Astrocytes are the principle macroglial brain cells. They are activated by different stressors and brain injuries. Quantum dots (QDs) can cause oxidative stress. This study shows a real-time imaging of primary cortical cultures and assessment of QD-induced activation of astrocytes in the brains of transgenic mice with the luciferase gene driven by the murine astrocyte promoter. This approach may be widely applicable for assessing the astroglia/tissue response to nanoparticles in live animals.  相似文献

We investigated the alterations of hippocampal and reticulo-thalamic (RT) GABAergic parvalbumin (PV) interneurons and their synaptic re-organizations underlying the prodromal local sleep disorders in the distinct rat models of Parkinson’s disease (PD). We demonstrated for the first time that REM sleep is a predisposing state for the high-voltage sleep spindles (HVS) induction in all experimental models of PD, particularly during hippocampal REM sleep in the hemiparkinsonian models. There were the opposite underlying alterations of the hippocampal and RT GABAergic PV+ interneurons along with the distinct MAP2 and PSD-95 expressions. Whereas the PD cholinopathy enhanced the number of PV+ interneurons and suppressed the MAP2/PSD-95 expression, the hemiparkinsonism with PD cholinopathy reduced the number of PV+ interneurons and enhanced the MAP2/PSD-95 expression in the hippocampus. Whereas the PD cholinopathy did not alter PV+ interneurons but partially enhanced MAP2 and suppressed PSD-95 expression remotely in the RT, the hemiparkinsonism with PD cholinopathy reduced the PV+ interneurons, enhanced MAP2, and did not change PSD-95 expression remotely in the RT. Our study demonstrates for the first time an important regulatory role of the hippocampal and RT GABAergic PV+ interneurons and the synaptic protein dynamic alterations in the distinct rat models of PD neuropathology.  相似文献

The quality of crystals depends on many factors that determine their granulometric properties. In order to obtain crystals of desired size distribution, proper selection of the operating conditions is of a great importance. Commonly, the unseeded cooling crystallization is controlled by selecting the appropriate cooling profile. The crystallization process can also be controlled by adding a certain number of seed crystals of a uniform size in the crystallizer at the saturation temperature. This paper investigates the influence of the process conditions (mixing intensity, cooling profile, batch time, saturation temperature and seeding) on the granulometric properties of pentaerythritol obtained by batch cooling crystallization. All investigated process conditions influence the crystal size distribution (seeded and unseeded experiments). On the other hand, the shape of crystals was the same for all experimental conditions. Optimal cooling profile, lower retention time, higher mixing rate, and smaller initial seed surface area improves the final crystal size distribution.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: The commercial development of plants as sources of antioxidants that can be used to enhance the properties of foods, for nutritional purposes and preservation as well as for prevention of oxidation‐related diseases, is currently of major interest. Rosehip (Rosa canina L.) is a rich source of vitamin C and polyphenols. RESULTS: Phytochemicals in rosehip tea were separated into three fractions: Fr1 (vitamin C, 39.17 mg kg?1), Fr2 (flavonoids, 451.05 µg kg?1) and Fr3 (phenolic acids, 504.69 µg kg?1). Quercetin and ellagic acid were the most abundant polyphenolic compounds. Rosehip fractions, primarily rosehip flavonoids (EC50 = 49 mg L?1), showed high antioxidant activity towards 2,2‐diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl radicals (DPPH?). Cell growth effects of rosehip fractions were assessed in HeLa, MCF7 and HT‐29 cell lines, with the lowest IC50 values being determined for rosehip flavonoids, (80.63, 248.03 and 363.95 mg L?1 respectively). However, the vitamin C fraction did not inhibit the growth of tested tumour cells. CONCLUSION: The results of this study confirm that vitamin C and flavonoids are responsible for the antioxidant activity of rosehip tea, while only polyphenols contribute to its antiproliferative activity. Beetroot (Beta vulgaris) pomace, processing by-product from food industry, was investigated in this work as a starting raw material. The contents of phenolics (1.87–11.98 mg GAE/g of dry weight) and betalains (0.75–3.75 mg betalains/g of dry weight) in the extracts were determinated spectrophotometrically. Some individual phenolic compounds, including ferulic, vanillic, p-hydroxybenzoic, caffeic and protocatehuic acids, were identified and quantified by HPLC. The antioxidative activity of beetroot extracts was tested using DPPH, hydroxyl and superoxide anion radicals by ESR spectroscopy. IC50OH (0.05–0.108 mg/ml), IC50DPPH (0.183–0.333 mg/ml), and IC50O2- (0.198–1.000 mg/ml) were calculated. The regression analysis produced moderate to high correlation coefficients between the scavenging activities and phenolics, and some individual phenolic compounds which indicated that beetroot pomace may be used as functional food ingredient. Cell growth effects were determined in MCF7 and MRC-5 cell lines, using SRB assay. IC50 values were in the range of 362.478–503.525 and 383–587.880 μg/ml in MRC-5 and MCF7, respectively.  相似文献
