The advantages of the atomic layer deposition (ALD) method for preparation of tungsten, vanadium, titanium, and molybdenum oxide catalyst supported on mesoporous silica are discussed, with emphasis on the importance of synthesis conditions on dispersion, structure and activity of the resulting materials. A suite of complementary techniques such as DRS-UV/Vis, BET, 1H-NMR, XRD, and TEM were used to study the structural properties of the supported metal oxides, and probe reactions such as 2-butanol dehydration and ethanol partial oxidation were used to demonstrate the potential advantages of the ALD-prepared catalysts. Specifically, highly dispersed oxides of titanium, molybdenum, and tungsten oxide on mesoporous silica were synthesized using the ALD method. It is also demonstrated that attainment of high dispersions of vanadium oxide on mesoporous silica requires the presence of at least a single layer of titanium oxide due to the well-known poor interaction between vanadia and silica. The highly dispersed catalysts prepared here by ALD methods exhibited superior catalytic performance relative to those prepared using conventional incipient wetness impregnation.  相似文献

Mechanochemical degradation by planetary ball milling (PM) is used for postpolymerization modification of styrene homopolymers (PS). A complete factorial design was chosen to study the effect of radical scavengers, milling time, initial molecular weight, and revolution radius (Rp), on the shape of molecular weight distributions (MWDs) of PS. Size-exclusion chromatography analysis shows the feasibility of fine-tuning MWD of PS at up to 40% conversion. Distributions ranged from unimodal to bimodal in a PM with Rp = 150 mm at different stage of milling, whereas in a PM with Rp of 60.8 mm the adjustment of unimodal distributions is achieved. Initial polydispersity is more important to develop bimodal distributions when compared with initial molecular weight. Fourier transform infrared and X-ray electron spectrometry analysis show some suppression of PS degradation and complete oxidation inhibition of macromolecular radicals with the incorporation of radical scavengers, which we considered as additional aids when adjusting the MWDs.  相似文献

The search for more compatibility between ionic liquids (ILs) and polymer matrices in proton-exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) is one of the ways in which IL leaking from proton-exchange membranes could be minimized. In this work, it is presented the synthesis of an aromatic high temperature ionic liquid (HTIL), which, incorporated into an aromatic matrix such as sulfonated polyether ether ketone (sPEEK), is expected to diminish the IL leaking that normally affects PEMFC. Phenylethylammonium trifluoromethane sulfonate (PhetaTfO) was successfully synthesized and characterized. Its melting point of 88°C makes it to classify as a HTIL and it was employed as modifier of natural Montmorillonite, forming the phenylethylammonium intercalated montmorillonite (MmtPheta) and thus, ternary membranes containing PhetaTfO, MmtPheta, and sPEEK were prepared and characterized. Immersion tests demonstrated a higher compatibility of PhetaTfO with matrix when compared to the reference DemaTfO, which was reflected in up to 30% lower IL loss by the synthesized IL than the DemaTfO; X-rays diffraction (XRD) patterns demonstrated that the modified clay was properly dispersed inside the membranes, while dynamic mechanical analyses (DMA) results indicated a strong plasticizer effect along the increase of PhetaTfO content inside the membrane, while at the same time, the conductivity increased in an exponential manner, which permitted to identify an empiric exponential equation to evaluate the effect of concentration on ionic conductivity. The maximum conductivity obtained at IL concentrations of around 38 wt% was 0.2 mS/cm. It could expect high ionic conductivities of 10 mS/cm when the concentration of this IL is 60%; nevertheless, in order to achieve that, crosslinking treatments should be done to give the membranes enough mechanical resistance.  相似文献

With the advent of low-cost 3D sensors and 3D printers, scene and object 3D surface reconstruction has become an important research topic in the last years. In this work, we propose an automatic (unsupervised) method for 3D surface reconstruction from raw unorganized point clouds acquired using low-cost 3D sensors. We have modified the growing neural gas network, which is a suitable model because of its flexibility, rapid adaptation and excellent quality of representation, to perform 3D surface reconstruction of different real-world objects and scenes. Some improvements have been made on the original algorithm considering colour and surface normal information of input data during the learning stage and creating complete triangular meshes instead of basic wire-frame representations. The proposed method is able to successfully create 3D faces online, whereas existing 3D reconstruction methods based on self-organizing maps required post-processing steps to close gaps and holes produced during the 3D reconstruction process. A set of quantitative and qualitative experiments were carried out to validate the proposed method. The method has been implemented and tested on real data, and has been found to be effective at reconstructing noisy point clouds obtained using low-cost 3D sensors.  相似文献

This work presents a novel approach to tackle the music staff removal. This task is devoted to removing the staff lines from an image of a music score while maintaining the symbol information. It represents a key step in the performance of most optical music recognition systems. In the literature, staff removal is usually solved by means of image processing procedures based on the intrinsics of music scores. However, we propose to model the problem as a supervised learning classification task. Surprisingly, although there is a strong background and a vast amount of research concerning machine learning, the classification approach has remained unexplored for this purpose. In this context, each foreground pixel is labelled as either staff or symbol. We use pairs of scores with and without staff lines to train classification algorithms. We test our proposal with several well-known classification techniques. Moreover, in our experiments no attempt of tuning the classification algorithms has been made, but the parameters were set to the default setting provided by the classification software libraries. The aim of this choice is to show that, even with this straightforward procedure, results are competitive with state-of-the-art algorithms. In addition, we also discuss several advantages of this approach for which conventional methods are not applicable such as its high adaptability to any type of music score.  相似文献

Monitoring of cloud computing infrastructures is an imperative necessity for cloud providers and administrators to analyze, optimize and discover what is happening in their own infrastructures. Current monitoring solutions do not fit well for this purpose mainly due to the incredible set of new requirements imposed by the particular requirements associated to cloud infrastructures. This paper describes in detail the main reasons why current monitoring solutions do not work well. Also, it provides an innovative monitoring architecture that enables the monitoring of the physical and virtual machines available within a cloud infrastructure in a non-invasive and transparent way making it suitable not only for private cloud computing but also for public cloud computing infrastructures. This architecture has been validated by means of a prototype integrating an existing enterprise-class monitoring solution, Nagios, with the control and data planes of OpenStack, a well-known stack for cloud infrastructures. As a result, our new monitoring architecture is able to extend the exiting Nagios functionalities to fit in the monitoring of cloud infrastructures. The proposed architecture has been designed, implemented and released as open source to the scientific community. The proposal has also been empirically validated in a production-level cloud computing infrastructure running a test bed with up to 128 VMs where overhead and responsiveness has been carefully analyzed.  相似文献

This study examines the development of an automated particle tracking algorithm to predict the hindered Brownian movement of fluorescent nanoparticles within an evanescent wave field created using total internal reflection fluorescent microscopy. The two-dimensional motion of the fluorescent nanoparticles was tracked, with sub-pixel resolution, by fitting the intensity distribution of the particles to a known Gaussian distribution, thus providing the particle center within a single pixel. Spherical yellow-green polystyrene nanoparticles (200, 500, and 1000 nm in diameter) were suspended in deionized water (control), 10 wt% d-glucose, and 10 wt% glycerol solutions, with 1 mM of NaCl added to each. The motion of tracked nanoparticles was compared with the theoretical tangential hindered Brownian motion to estimate particle diameters and fluid viscosity using a nonlinear regression technique. The automatic tracking algorithm was initially validated by comparing the automated results with manually tracked particles, 1 µm in size. Our results showed that both particle size and solution viscosity were accurately predicted from the experimental mean square displacement. Specifically, the results show that the error of particle size prediction is below 10 % and the error of solution viscosity prediction is less than 1 %. The proposed automatic analysis tool could prove to be useful in bio-application fields for examination of single protein tracking, drug delivery, and cytotoxicity. Furthermore, the proposed tool could be useful in microfluidic areas such as particle tracking velocimetry and noninvasive viscosimetry.  相似文献

A solution to the stabilization problem of a compact set by means of the Interconnection and Damping Assignment Passivity‐Based Control methodology, for an affine nonlinear system, was introduced. To this end, we expressed the closed‐loop system as a Port Hamiltonian system, having the property of almost all their trajectories asymptotically converge to a convenient limit set, except for a set of measure zero. It was carried out by solving a partial differential equation (PDE) or single matching condition, which allows the desired energy level or limit set E to be shaped explicitly. The control strategy was tested using the magnetic beam balance system and the pendulum actuated by a direct current motor (DC‐motor), having obtained satisfactory results. This work describes a neural network based architecture that represents and estimates object motion in videos. This architecture addresses multiple computer vision tasks such as image segmentation, object representation or characterization, motion analysis and tracking. The use of a neural network architecture allows for the simultaneous estimation of global and local motion and the representation of deformable objects. This architecture also avoids the problem of finding corresponding features while tracking moving objects. Due to the parallel nature of neural networks, the architecture has been implemented on GPUs that allows the system to meet a set of requirements such as: time constraints management, robustness, high processing speed and re-configurability. Experiments are presented that demonstrate the validity of our architecture to solve problems of mobile agents tracking and motion analysis.  相似文献

The mobile health (mHealth) and electronic health (eHealth) systems are useful to maintain a correct administration of health information and services. However, it is mandatory to ensure a secure data transmission and in case of a node failure, the system should not fall down. This fact is important because several vital systems could depend on this infrastructure. On the other hand, a cloud does not have infinite computational and storage resources in its infrastructure or would not provide all type of services. For this reason, it is important to establish an interrelation between clouds using communication protocols in order to provide scalability, efficiency, higher service availability and flexibility which allow the use of services, computing and storage resources of other clouds. In this paper, we propose the architecture and its secure protocol that allows exchanging information, data, services, computing and storage resources between all interconnected mHealth clouds. The system is based on a hierarchic architecture of two layers composed by nodes with different roles. The routing algorithm used to establish the connectivity between the nodes is the shortest path first (SPF), but it can be easily changed by any other one. Our architecture is highly scalable and allows adding new nodes and mHealth clouds easily, while it tries to maintain the load of the cloud balanced. Our protocol design includes node discovery, authentication and fault tolerance. We show the protocol operation and the secure system design. Finally we provide the performance results in a controlled test bench.  相似文献
