The contribution of Fe to C2S polymorphs is effectively revealed for β-C2S formation and is not for α′- or α-C2S. However in co-existing of Na or K with Fe, the α-C2S is easily stabilized, though accompanied with small amount of crystalline Ca2Fe2O5 as the interstitial material. This effect of Fe on α- and β-C2S synthesis was investigated by XRD, chemical analysis and Mössbauer spectra observation. Comparing calculated Mössbauer parameters of α- and β-C2S with those of other minerals, it was confirmed that they included only Fe3+ at octahedral and tetrahedral sites with the ratio 30:70 in Na---Fe substituted α-form and with 63:37 in K---Fe substituted α-form. In β-C2S, Fe3+ was mostly situated at tetrahedral site. The formulas of α- and β-C2S were decided and shown as, (Ca1.88Fe0.05Na0.24)(Si0.88Fe0.11)O4, (Ca1.94 Fe0.09K0.18) (Si0.88Fe0.05)O4 for α-form and (Ca1.93Fe0.003Na0.04) (Si0.99Fe0.05)O4, (Ca1.94Fe0.01K0.04) (Si0.92Fe0.13)O4 for -form. 相似文献

In pigs, although ICSI is a feasible fertilization technique, its efficiency is low. In general, injected pig sperm are insufficient to induce oocyte activation and embryonic development. Pretreatments for disrupting sperm membranes have been applied to improve the fertility of ICSI oocytes; however, we hypothesize that such pretreatment(s) may reduce the ability of the sperm to induce oocyte activation. We first evaluated the effects of sperm pretreatments (sonication (SO) to isolate the sperm heads from the tails, Triton X-100 (TX), and three cycles of repeated freezing/thawing (3×-FT) for disrupting sperm membranes) on the rate of pronucleus (PN) formation after ICSI. We found that oocytes injected with control (whole) sperm had higher rates of PN formation than those obtained after subjecting the sperm to SO, TX, and 3×-FT. The amounts of phospholipase Cζ (PLCζ), which is thought to be the oocyte-activating factor in mammalian sperm, in sperm treated by each method was significantly lower than that in whole untreated sperm. Furthermore, using immunofluorescence, it was found that in pig sperm, PLCζ was localized to both the post-acrosomal region and the tail area. Thus we demonstrated for the first time that sperm pretreatment leads to a reduction of oocyte-activating capacity. Our data also show that in addition to its expected localization to the sperm head, PLCζ is also localized in the tail of pig sperm, thus raising the possibility that injection of whole sperm may be required to attain successful activation in pigs. 相似文献

Transparent conducting SnO2 powders doped with 10% Fe content were prepared by a polymerized complex method under acidic solutions, and annealed finally at 550 °C, and at 600 °C. These samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, magnetization, and Mössbauer spectrometry at room temperature. Rutile SnO2 phase was obtained for both samples, and the crystallite sizes were in the range of 13-14 nm. Both samples exhibit magnetization and the saturation magnetization was smaller for the sample annealed at 600 °C than for sample annealed at 550 °C. Room temperature Mössbauer spectra for both samples showed the presence of two different paramagnetic iron sites but no magnetic sextets. These results suggest that ferromagnetism originates from magnetic defects and not directly from iron ions. 相似文献

Analyses and interpretations of 1m‐resolution IKONOS, and 61cm‐resolution QuickBird images reveal that the distribution of strike‐slip offsets and ground deformation characteristics of the coseismic surface rupture produced by the 2001 M w 7.8 Kunlun earthquake occurred in the western segment of the strike‐slip Kunlun fault, northern Tibet. The 2001 coseismic strike‐slip offsets measured from IKONOS images range from 2 m up to 16.7 m, generally 3–8 m, which are generally consistent with those measured immediately in the field after the earthquake. The coseismic surface ruptures along which offsets were observed are mainly composed of a numerous of en echelon shear faults and cracks which are concentrated on a rupture zone ranging from a few meters up to ~500 m in width. The offsets measured along individual shear faults or crack are typically 2–7 m, but up to >10 m in several locations. Our results show that high resolution remote sensing imagery provides a powerful tool for measuring coseismic strike‐slip offsets and detecting the ground deformation produced by a large earthquake in the remote and high mountain Tibet region. 相似文献

Floral organs have evolved from leaves for reproduction, and the morphological analyses help to understand the plant diversity and evolution. Habenaria radiata (syn. Pecteilis radiata) is a terrestrial orchid living in wetlands in Japan, Russia, South Korea, and China. The habitats of this plant in Japan have been reduced because of environmental destruction and overexploitation, and thus it is on the Red List of Japan as a Near Threatened species. One of the three petals of the H. radiata flower is called a lip or labellum, which resembles a flying white bird, egret, or white heron, with its proposed function being to attract pollinators. To understand the diversity of H. radiata plants in different areas, we examined the lip morphology and phylogeny of populations from eight habitats in the Kinki area, Japan. The complex shapes of the lips were quantified and presented as a radar chart, enabling characterization of the morphological difference among populations. Phylogenetic analysis with microsatellite markers that we generated showed the variation of genetic diversity among populations, suggesting the different degrees of inbreeding, outbreeding, and vegetative propagation. Our approach offers a basic method to characterize the morphological and genetic diversity in natural populations. 相似文献

A quantification system for lysophospholipids (lysoPL) was developed, especially for blood samples, using liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS). However, the lysoPL measurement in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) has not been validated. Therefore, the present study aimed to validate the lysoPL measurement using CSF samples and to elucidate the possible clinical significance of the lysoPL measurement in CSF. For the validation, we observed a good precision and linearity in a sample with high lysoPL levels. The concentrations of lysoPL changed after incubation but the changes were smaller than those observed for serum samples. Moreover, we observed that the CSF levels of 16:0, 18:0 lysophosphatidylcholine, and 18:0, 18:1, and 20:4 lysophosphatidic acid were significantly higher in subjects with central nervous system invasion caused by hematological malignancies or carcinoma than in subjects with no abnormal CSF test results. In conclusion, an LC–MS/MS quantification system for lysoPL in CSF might be useful and could be applied to clinical laboratory testing. 相似文献

We have developed stacked nanocarbon polymer actuators that are composed of several nanocarbon polymer actuator films using nonwoven fabric as insulation layers. The nonwoven fabric prepared through electrospinning methods has extremely-low-density structures, which do not significantly prevent the motions of each nanocarbon actuator layer. Therefore, stacking several thin nanocarbon polymer actuators using nonwoven fabric as insulation layers is expected to increase generated force without decreasing the displacement of a one-layer actuator. We have prepared stacked actuators with one, two, three, four, and seven layers using this method. The displacement and blocking force of these actuators are measured and compared with those of one-layer actuators of different thicknesses. Displacement is weakly dependent on the thickness of the actuator films of the stacked actuators. On the contrary, it decreases considerably as the thickness of the actuator film of the one-layer actuator increases. In both cases, blocking force is proportional to the thickness of actuator films. We have developed a stacked actuator model based on a trilayer actuator model and confirmed the experimental results using the model. 相似文献

Abstract— A full‐color AMOLED display with an RGBW color filter pattern has been fabricated. Displays with this format require about one‐half the power of analogous RGB displays. RGBW and RGB 2.16‐in.‐diagonal displays with average power consumptions of 180 and 340 mW, respectively, were characterized for a set of standard digital still camera images at a luminance of 100 cd/m2. In both cases, a white‐emitting AMOLED was used as the light source, and standard LCD filters were used to provide the R, G, and B emission. The color gamuts of these displays were identical and the higher overall efficiency of the RGBW format results from two factors. First, a large fraction of a typical image is near neutral in color and can be reproduced using the white sub‐pixel. Second, the white sub‐pixel in an RGBW AMOLED display is highly efficient because of the absence of any color filter. The efficiency of these displays can be further enhanced by choosing a white emitter optimized to the target display white point (in this case D65). A two‐emission layer configuration based upon separate yellow and blue‐emitting regions is shown to be well suited for both the RGBW and RGB formats. 相似文献

Two patients with inflammatory breast cancer treated with a combination of radical mastectomy, irradiation, and immunochemotherapy are reported. After radical mastectomy, both patients were given a dose of 4000 rad and 5000 rad to the chest wall and parasternal lymph nodes, and 5000 rad to the axillary and supraclavicular lymph nodes. However, both patients died of recurrence within the irradiated field of the chest wall and metastatic spread to the neighbouring skin. Although in Japan the number of casualties from road traffic accidents decreased substantially during a period of improvement of safety measures, in recent years it has remained rather constant. To decrease accidents still further it is necessary to investigate the circumstances of road traffic accidents and the severity of resulting casualties in detail. For this purpose 167,721 cases of road traffic accident casualties occurring between February and April 1979, throughout Japan were analyzed. (1) It was found that 74.2% of all the cases suffered injuries corresponding to AIS-1; 30% of these involved neck injuries. (2) There were 2,654 fatal cases, 67% of which involved head injuries, chiefly cerebral contusion, cranial base fracture, and intracranial hemorrhage. There were fatal cases in the categories of AIS-3 or below which are generally considered not fatal, but those were due to complications. (3) The chief sites of injury varied according to the victim's mode of transport: in an automobile the neck was the site most frequently injured; on a motorcycle the legs and head were usually involved; on a bicycle or walking the head and legs were most at risk. (4) Injuries to pedestrians often fell under the severer AIS-4 or higher codes and constituted 43% of total deaths. (5) Accidents with automobiles changing lanes tended to cause serious injuries and many deaths. Other characteristics of road traffic accidents in Japan are analyzed and discussed. 相似文献
