Five cordierite-based powders were investigated regarding their thermal and crystallization behaviors. The powders were obtained from amorphous gels having nominal compositions of 2Mg : xAl : (4 − x)B : 5Si where x = 4 down to 0. Thermal gravimetry analysis of the dry gels showed some absorbed water and decomposition of organic ligands in addition to network condensation. Gradual substitution of B for Al in the dried gel powders showed a new band in their infrared spectra corresponding to triangular BO3, whereas the bands corresponding to Al vanished. This also showed a noticeable effect on the crystallization trends, type and stability of cordierite. Cordierite crystallized in samples of B/Al ratio up to 1 while protoenstatite predominated in samples of higher B/Al ratios. In addition, some silica minerals, with little amorphous phase, were formed. Incorporation of boron and increase in temperature enhanced the transformation of γ cordierite to its form. 相似文献

The mode-based finite element formulation of the equations of motion is usually adopted for linear random vibration analysis (RVA). In general, the RVA of large systems requires a large number of numerical integrations which is very time-consuming for a reasonable level of desired accuracy. Moreover, conventional numerical integration methods may fail to converge when the integrands are highly oscillatory due to slow propagation velocities. In this paper, a robust general-purpose RVA integration technique which can overcome these drawbacks is presented. Multi-point base and nodal excitations including wave passage effect and frequency-independent spatial correlation can be taken into account in the analysis. The proposed technique is based on the closed-form solutions for polynomial-type power spectral density functions and has been verified to be efficient and accurate for many engineering problems. This paper describes the implementation details, presents two examples taken from engineering applications and demonstrates the dramatic time-saving in the computation compared to numerical integration solutions. In this paper, the analysis of the titled problem is based on classical thin-plate theory, and its numerical solution is carried out by using the small parameter method and Lévy-type approach. The thin rectangular plate considered herein is simply supported on two opposite edges. The boundary conditions at the other two edges may be quite general, and between these two edges the plate may have varying thickness. Closed-form solutions have been developed for the static response of isotropic rectangular plates with non-uniform thickness variation and subjected to arbitrary loading. The accuracy of the present model is demonstrated via problems for which the exact solutions and numerical results are available, and results are also compared with those obtained by using the finite-difference method. 相似文献

This article presents baseline data from 1120 employees across 10 worksites enrolled in a workplace physical activity intervention. The study provides new data on physical activity, sedentary behaviour, and health and highlights gender, geographical, job type and industrial sector differences. Sitting at work accounted for more than 60% of participants’ total daily sitting time on work days. Weekly and monthly hours worked, body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference were significantly higher for workers in the private sector compared to the public sector. Employees in sales and customer services had significantly higher BMI scores and significantly lower scores for workability index (WAI), job satisfaction, organisational commitment and job motivation, compared to other groups. This study provides further evidence that work is a major contributor to sedentary behaviour and supports the pressing need for interventions particularly targeting private sector industries and sales and customer service sectors.
Practitioner Summary: Work accounts for more than 60% of the daily sitting time. Private sector employees had higher BMIs than those in the public sector and employees in sales and customer services had higher BMIs and poorer health compared to other occupations, suggesting that these groups should be targeted in workplace interventions. 相似文献

During 2001-2005, 210 Salmonella enterica strains were isolated from seafood samples imported into US. Strains of S. enterica serovar Weltevreden were the most predominantly found among the 64 different serovars isolated. A total of 37 Salmonella Weltevreden isolates were characterized by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE), plasmid profiles and antibiotic susceptibility to assess genetic diversity. Our results showed a low frequency of antibiotic resistance; 35 of the 37 isolates were sensitive to ampicillin, tetracycline, chloramphenicol, gentamicin, sulfisoxazole, streptomycin and kanamycin. Only two isolates, from samples originating in the Philippines and India, showed resistance to ampicillin and tetracycline and to streptomycin, sulfisoxazole and tetracycline, respectively. Of the 37 isolates, two isolates did not carry any plasmid and 35 isolates harbored several small and mega-plasmids. These isolates were differentiated into 10 distinct types based on plasmid profiles. Four different PFGE clusters were obtained with a genetic similarity of 66-76%. Four groups of isolates (formed by two or three isolates each) showed 100% similarity in the PFGE profiles. One of these groups included strains isolated in Vietnam in 2003, 2004 and 2005 from fish and shrimp. The other groups included strains isolated in Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand in 2000, 2004 and 2005 from snail, shrimp and fish. The purpose of this study was to estimate total arsenic concentration in different tissues (leg, breast, liver and heart) of broiler chicken by hydride generation atomic absorption spectrometry (HGAAS) and graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS), prior to microwave assisted acid digestion. The accuracy of the techniques was evaluated by using certified reference material DORM-2. The percentage recoveries of total As were observed as 100.6% and 99.4% for HGAAS and GFAAS, respectively. The precision of the techniques, expressed as relative standard deviation, was observed as 1.71% and 4.18% for HGAAS and GFAAS measurements, respectively. The limits of detection for HGAAS and GFAAS were 0.025 μg/g and 0.052 μg/g, respectively. The concentrations of total arsenic in different tissues of broiler chicken were found in the range of 2.19–5.28, 2.15–5.22, 2.97–7.17 and 2.68–6.36 μg/g for leg, breast, liver and heart tissues, respectively. At a mean level of chicken consumption (60 g/person/day), people may ingest in the range of 72.0–85.1 μg arsenic/person/day from chicken alone. 相似文献

The purpose of this study was to determine the microbial status of tofu sold in a rural Illinois county and assess the factors contributing to the safety of tofu. Six brands of tofu from eight different stores (60 total samples) were purchased and analyzed for temperature, pH, total aerobic bacteria, and the presence of coliforms. Relationships between age, temperature, pH of tofu, and total aerobic bacteria were tested. An analysis of variance was also performed to test for differences in total bacterial counts among the brands. Mean aerobic bacterial counts ranged from 0 to 7.76 x 10(7) CFU/g. Fifty-five percent of the tofu tested fell within the excellent range for freshness as delineated by the standards developed by the Soyfoods Association of North America, 6.7% fell within the acceptable range, 6.7% within the marginal range, and 28% within the unacceptable range. Sixteen percent of the samples contained coliform bacteria. No significant correlation was found between variables, except pH with total aerobic bacterial counts (r = -0.51) and pH with eosin-methylene blue agar counts (r = -0.67). Most of the tofu was displayed at unsafe temperatures (>5 degrees C) for potentially hazardous foods. This study confirmed the concerns regarding safety of tofu sold in the grocery stores. Based on these results, special training on tofu storage and handling is recommended for grocery stores selling this food product. 相似文献

In this study, we have proposed an artificial neural network (ANN) model to estimate and forecast the number of confirmed and recovered cases of COVID-19 in the upcoming days until September 17, 2020. The proposed model is based on the existing data (training data) published in the Saudi Arabia Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) situation—Demographics. The Prey-Predator algorithm is employed for the training. Multilayer perceptron neural network (MLPNN) is used in this study. To improve the performance of MLPNN, we determined the parameters of MLPNN using the prey-predator algorithm (PPA). The proposed model is called the MLPNN–PPA. The performance of the proposed model has been analyzed by the root mean squared error (RMSE) function, and correlation coefficient (R). Furthermore, we tested the proposed model using other existing data recorded in Saudi Arabia (testing data). It is demonstrated that the MLPNN-PPA model has the highest performance in predicting the number of infected and recovering in Saudi Arabia. The results reveal that the number of infected persons will increase in the coming days and become a minimum of 9789. The number of recoveries will be 2000 to 4000 per day. 相似文献
