Optimization of an herbicide release from ethylcellulose microspheres   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Summary The herbicide 2,4-D was microencapsulated using ethyl cellulose to develop controlled release formulations that protect it from photodegradation and evaporation and to reduce the environment pollution. Ethyl cellulose microspheres loaded with 2,4-D were prepared by the emulsion solvent-evaporation technique. We have obtained the desired microspheres with higher drug entrapment and encapsulation yield by varying certain conditions as stirring speed, polymer-solvent ratio, drug-polymer ratio, pH of continuous phase and organic phase solvent. The shape and size of microspheres were analysed by scanning electron microscopy. The herbicide release was studied at 25 °C and the release data were analysed according to Fick’s Law. The results demonstrate that we can control the release rate by modifying the process parameters.  相似文献

Structural analysis derived from the crystallographic studyof the chimeric B72.3 antibody illustrated some major atomicinteractions between complementarity determining region (CDR)residues. For example, hydrogen bonds are formed between H35/H95,L50/H97, H53/H55 and H96/L96 respectively. These CDR residuesmay play important roles in the B72.3–TAG72 (antibody-antigen)interaction either by direct interaction with the TAG72 antigenor by maintaining a CDR loop conformation through atomic interactionsbetween CDR residues. In order to confirm these assumptions,we altered these CDR residues by site-directed mutagenesis anddetermined binding affinities of these mutant chimeric antibodiesfor the TAG72 antigen in a solid-phase radioimmunoassay. Wefound that H55, H95, H97 and L96 are important CDR residuesfor the B72.3–TAG72 interaction. Single amino acid substitutionsof aspartic acid and serine by alanine at H55 of CDR2 and atH95 of CDR3 respectively and of tyrosine by phenylalanine atH97 and L96 of CDR3, significantly reduced the binding affinityfor the TAG72 antigen by 20-, 8-, 16- and 45-fold respectively.Therefore, this study reveals some of the requirements for maintainingthe integrity of the B72.3 antibody combining sites.  相似文献

Separation of sterol esters from wax esters in the lipids of vernix caseosa and adult human skin surface was accomplished by column chromatography on MgO. The fatty acids of the sterol esters and wax esters of both samples were separated into saturates and monoenes, and examined in detail by gas liquid chromatography (GLC). The saturated fatty acids of the wax esters of vernix caseosa and of adult human skin surface were remarkably similar. They ranged in chain length from at least C11 to C30, six skeletal types being present: straight even, straight odd, iso, anteiso, other monomethyl branched and dimethyl branched. A large number of patterns of monoenes were observed, each pattern consisting of desaturation of a specific chain at Δ6 or Δ9 plus its extension or degradation products. The mole per cent of the total Δ6 and Δ9 patterns of wax ester fatty acid monoenes of vernix caseosa were 87% and 12%, respectively, and 98% and 1%, respectively, for adult human skin surface lipid. The sterol ester fatty acids of vernix caseosa were much different from those of adult human skin surface: vernix caseosa saturates were largely branched and of lengths greater than C18, whereas the saturates of adult human surface lipid resembled the wax ester fatty acids. Of the vernix caseosa monoene patterns, the mole per cent was 30% Δ6 and 70% Δ9, whereas of the adult human skin surface sterol ester fatty acids 89% were Δ6 and 11% Δ9. Chain extension was particularly pronounced in the sterol ester fatty acid monoenes of vernix caseosa amounting to 7–8 C2 units in some cases. The fatty acids of the sterol esters of both vernix caseosa and adult human skin surface appear to be derived from the sebaceous gland and from the keratinizing epidermis, but those of the wax esters are from the sebaceous glands only.  相似文献

On the basis of the chemical, physical, and biological criteria used, all of which have been shown to be sensitive indicators of heat damage to oils, it must be concluded that the overall nutritional quality of an oil is not adversely affected by alkali refining, adsorptive decolorizing, or deodorization; that higher temperatures of deodorization (238C) produce oils nutritionally equivalent to those deodorized at lower temperatures (160C); and that the normal processes used in manufacturing edible oils improve the resistance of these oils to heat damage. Model-driven engineering introduces additional challenges for controlling and managing software evolution. Today, tools exist for generating model editors and for managing models with transformation, validation, merging and weaving. There is limited support, however, for model migration—a development activity in which instance models are updated in response to metamodel evolution. In this paper, we propose conservative copy—a style of model transformation that we believe is well-suited to model migration—and Epsilon Flock—a compact model-to-model transformation language tailored for model migration. The proposed structures are evaluated by comparing the conciseness of model migration strategies written in different styles of transformation language, using several examples of evolution taken from UML and the graphical modelling framework.  相似文献

Grafting of poly(acrylic acid) onto commercial polypropylene films following irradiation by γ-rays was carried out in order to improve their surface properties. The amount of grafting with the irradiation dose was found not to follow the expected linear dependence as it is normally observed for polypropylene films prepared in laboratory amounts. We therefore analyzed the influence of the industrial manufacture process in terms of orientation of the film and addition of antioxidants by determining the peroxide surface density and the extent of grafting therefrom. The unoriented polypropylene film presented the highest peroxide concentration and was thus the most adapated material for successful grafting. Whereas phenol antioxidants limit the peroxide formation and thus must be removed from the film for grafting, the thickness of the chemical modification and can be controlled by means of phosphites. Atomicforce microscopy and wettability measurements showed that the grafted poly(acrylic acid) was heterogeneously distributed on the surface of the film, explaining the observed low reproducibility of the grafting reaction. A Sulzer SMX mixer was used to disperse gas into viscous, Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids. The investigation covered the effect of the dispersed phase volume fraction, the viscosity of the continuous phase, the mixer length and the power draw. The flow regime was kept laminar in all the experiments. The dispersion of gas was carried out with gas concentrations between 1% and 7% in volume. Using the “process viscosity” concept, it was possible to collapse all the measured sizes on a single master curve by using the energy consumption in the mixer as the common variable between the experiments. Comparison was made with a Kenics mixer. The SMX mixer was found to be better adapted to the dispersion task due to its internal structure.  相似文献

This paper is a critical review and summary of the analytical procedures currently used by operating water utilities to control ozone treatment processes, considering disinfection as well as the many oxidative applications of ozone in water treatment applications. The role of common interferences in the various methods is described.

In operating U S., Canadian, European, and Japanese water treatment plants currently employing ozone as a primary disinfectant, ozone nearly always is followed by the addition of small quantities of chlorine, chlorine dioxide, or chloramine to provide the residual in the distribution system and to act as a secondary disinfectant. Clearly, the analytical procedures used must distinguish between the various species. This review critically presents these various factors and their implication with respect to “true values” of ozone determined under widely varying conditions.  相似文献

The human plasma high density lipoproteins (HDL) are a heterogeneous ensemble of five proteins associated with both neutral and polar lipids. The sequences of all five proteins are known. ApoA-I and apoA-II are the major protein components; apoC-I, apoC-II and apoC-III are the minor protein components. All these apoproteins spontaneously recombine with phospholipids to give stable lipid-protein complexes and freely exchange between the two major HDL subclasses, HDL2 and HDL3. In addition, ApoC-I, apoC-II, and apoC-III exchange between HDL and very low density lipoproteins. Furthermore, certain HDL apoproteins are activators for plasma enzymes that are important in lipid metabolism. ApoA-I and apoC-I activate lecithin/cholesterol acyltransferase; apoC-II is an activator of lipoprotein lipase. The regions of apoC-I and apoC-II that are involved in the activation of these enzymes have been localized with synthetic peptides. Studies of synthetic and native fragments of apoA-II, apoC-I, apoC-II, and apoC-III as well as model lipid-binding peptides have identified specific regions with structural features common to lipid-binding proteins. These special properties, which include helical potential, sequences with a critical amphipathic length, and high hydrophobicity of the nonpolar side of the amphipathic helix, are the determinants of HDL structure and metabolism.  相似文献

为获得有抗氧化活性的工业用酵母菌株,对2株来源于原料乳中有较强抗氧化活性的酵母菌进行鉴定.根据菌株的表型、生理生化特征和基因型的特性,初步将这2株菌鉴定为毕赤氏发酵酵母(Pichia fermentans).将这2株酵母菌在高温灭菌(UHT)牛乳中培养以研究其对牛乳主要成分的影响,结果表明:这2株酵母能在UHT牛乳中产乙醇,具有促进蛋白水解活性与脂肪水解活性的能力,能有效提高乳中的游离氨基酸和脂肪酸的含量.  相似文献
