Many applications require teams of robots to cooperatively execute tasks. Among these domains are those in which successful
coordination must respect intra-path constraints, which are constraints that occur on the paths of agents and affect route
planning. This work focuses on multi-agent coordination for disaster response with intra-path precedence constraints, a compelling
application that is not well addressed by current coordination methods. In this domain a group of fire truck agents attempt
to address fires spread throughout a city in the wake of a large-scale disaster. The disaster has also caused many city roads
to be blocked by impassable debris, which can be cleared by bulldozer robots. A high-quality coordination solution must determine
not only a task allocation but also what routes the fire trucks should take given the intra-path precedence constraints and

Economic globalization, together with heightened market competition and increasingly short product life cycles are motivating
companies to use advanced manufacturing technologies. Use of high speed machining is increasingly widespread; however, as
the technology is relatively new, it lacks a deep-rooted knowledge base which would facilitate implementation. One of the
most frequent problems facing companies wishing to adopt this technology is selecting the most appropriate machine tool for
the product in question and own enterprise characteristics. This paper presents a decision support system for high speed milling
machine tool selection based on machine characteristics and performance tests. Profile machining tests are designed and conducted
in participating machining centers. The decision support system is based on product dimension accuracy, process parameters
such as feed rate and interpolation scheme used by CNC and machine characteristics such as machine accuracy and cost. Experimental
data for process error and cycle operation time are obtained from profile machining tests with different geometrical feature
zones that are often used in manufacturing of discrete parts or die/moulds. All those input parameters have direct impact
on productivity and manufacturing cost. Artificial neural network models are utilized for decision support system with reasonable

The objective of this paper is to present an overall approach to forecasting the future position of the moving objects of
an image sequence after processing the images previous to it. The proposed method makes use of classical techniques such as
optical flow to extract objects’ trajectories and velocities, and autoregressive algorithms to build the predictive model.
Our method can be used in a variety of applications, where videos with stationary cameras are used, moving objects are not
deformed and change their position with time. One of these applications is traffic control, which is used in this paper as
a case study with different meteorological conditions to compare with.

In this paper we introduce a method to compute non-dominated bicriteria shortest pairs, each including two disjoint simple paths. The method is based on an algorithm for ranking pairs of disjoint simple paths by non-decreasing order of cost, that is an adaptation of a path ranking algorithm applied to a network obtained from the original one after a suitable modification of the topology. We present a method for computing the null space of finite element models, including models with equality constraints. The method is purely algebraic; it requires access to the element matrices, but not to the geometry or material properties of the model.Theoretical considerations show that under certain conditions, both the amount of computation and the amount of memory required by our method scale linearly with model size; memory scales linearly but computation scales quadratically with the dimension of the null space. Our experiments confirm this: the method scales extremely well on 3-dimensional model problems. In general, large industrial models do not satisfy all the conditions that the theoretical results assume; however, experimentally the method performs well and outperforms an established method on industrial models, including models with many equality constraints.The accuracy of the computed null vectors is acceptable, but the method is usually less accurate than a more naive (and computationally much more expensive) method. 相似文献

The design and management of firewall rule sets is a very difficult and error-prone task because of the difficulty of translating access control requirements into complex low-level firewall languages. Although high-level languages have been proposed to model firewall access control lists, none has been widely adopted by the industry. We think that the main reason is that their complexity is close to that of many existing low-level languages. In addition, none of the high-level languages that automatically generate firewall rule sets verifies the model prior to the code-generation phase. Error correction in the early stages of the development process is cheaper compared to the cost associated with correcting errors in the production phase. In addition, errors generated in the production phase usually have a huge impact on the reliability and robustness of the generated code and final system.In this paper, we propose the application of the ideas of Model-Based Development to firewall access control list modelling and automatic rule set generation. First, an analysis of the most widely used firewall languages in the industry is conducted. Next, a Platform-Independent Model for firewall ACLs is proposed. This model is the result of exhaustive analysis and of a discussion of different alternatives for models in a bottom-up methodology. Then, it is proposed that a verification stage be added in the early stages of the Model-Based Development methodology, and a polynomial time complexity process and algorithms are proposed to detect and diagnose inconsistencies in the Platform-Independent Model. Finally, a theoretical complexity analysis and empirical tests with real models were conducted, in order to prove the feasibility of our proposal in real environments. 相似文献

In usability context of interactive systems the heuristic evaluation method is widespread. In most applications the results tend to be qualitative, describing such aspects that require some improvement for the benefit of usability. However, these qualitative results do not allow us to determine how usable it is or how it becomes an interactive system. Hence the need for quantitative results may also be very necessary in order to determine the effort that would be needed to get a sufficiently usable system.This article describes, following the idea of the UsabAIPO Project, a new experiment to obtain quantitative results after a heuristic evaluation. The pre-integrated volume rendering technique is widely used for creating high quality images. It produces good images even though the transfer function is nonlinear. Because the size of the pre-integration lookup table is proportional to the square of data precision, the required storage and computation load steeply increase for rendering of high-precision volume data. In this paper, we propose a method that approximates the pre-integration function proportional to the data precision. Using the arithmetic mean instead of the geometric mean and storing opacity instead of extinction density, this technique reduces the size and the update time of the pre-integration lookup table so that it classifies high-precision volume data interactively. The oxidation behaviour of the intermetallic phase Ti-50 at% Al at 900 °C was studied. It was found that the oxidation behaviour strongly depends on the composition and distribution of the and 2-phases in the alloy microstructure. As this microstructure strongly depends on the alloy cooling rate, the oxidation behaviour of TiAl-based intermetallics is significantly affected by the casting procedure and subsequent heat treatment.
