Both open pit mine and smelter projects can have significant impacts on a variety of environmental resources. Among these, air quality of the surroundings is a key issue. Additionally, the environmental assessment of projects demands integrated approach taking in account all pollution sources. Therefore, specific focus has been put on the methodology for assessing impacts on air quality. This paper proposes an integrated index of environmental impact aiming to quantify the air quality impact of industrial operations around an urban area, in case of scarcity of in situ acquired data. This proposed pollution index is demonstrated by a case study conducted in the municipality of Congonhas, Brazil, in which contributions of five open pit mines and two smelters were studied. To achieve the pollution index, the wind rose and distances from the centroids of effective areas to the urban nucleus itself were considered, taking into account the wind projection areas from windward impacting sources on the leeward impacted urban site. The proposed index also includes the squared wind speed (proportional to the kinetic energy transferred in uplifting dust from ground surface). The method proposed is considered suitable for impact assignment for each one of the air pollution sources in the neighborhood of studied area. This paper presents a multiscale corner detection method in planar shapes, which applies an undecimated Mexican hat wavelet decomposition of the angulation signal to identify significant points on a shape contour. The advantage of using this wavelet is that it is well suited for detecting singularities as corners and contours due to its excellent selectivity in position. Thus, this wavelet plays an important role in our approach because it identifies changes in non-stationary angulation signals, and it can be extended to multidimensional approaches in an efficient way when approximating this wavelet by difference of Gaussians. The proposed algorithm detects peaks on a correlation signal which is generated from different wavelet scales and retains relevant points on the decomposed angulation signal while discards poor information. Our approach assumes that only peaks which persist through several scales correspond to corners. Furthermore, we introduce a novel procedure to tune parameters for the corner detection algorithms that corresponds to the best relation between Precision and Recall measures. This technique guides the parameter adjustment of the algorithms according to the image database and it improves their performance with regard to true corner detection. Concerning the performance assessment of the algorithms, we compare the proposed one to other corner detectors by using Precision and Recall measures which are based on ground-truth information. This work proposes new speckle reduction filters for multi-look, amplitude-detected Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images based on the maximum a posteriori (MAP) approach and compares their performance. The new filters use an adaptive approach based on the one-dimensional k-means clustering algorithm over the variance ratio and also a region-growing procedure. The trade-off between the loss of radiometric resolution and edge preservation is evaluated in the filtered images. In order to obtain quantitative measures of the speckle reduction and of the edge blurring, we used some parameters such as the classical equivalent number of looks and the Hough transform. Experiments have been carried out with natural images corrupted with synthetic speckle noise following the Rayleigh and square root of gamma distributions and with real SAR images. 相似文献
The core of a nuclear Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) may be reloaded every time the fuel burn-up is such that it is not more possible to maintain the reactor operating at nominal power. The nuclear core fuel reload optimization problem consists in finding a pattern of burned-up and fresh-fuel assemblies that maximize the number of full operational days. This is an NP-Hard problem, meaning that complexity grows exponentially with the number of fuel assemblies in the core. Database views are traditionally described as unmaterialized queries, which may be coincidentally updatable according to some fixed criteria. One of the problems in updating through views lies in determining whether a given view modification can be correctly translated by the system. To define an updatable view, a view designer must be aware of how an update request in the view will be mapped into updates of the underlying relations. Furthermore, because of side effects, the view designer must also be made aware of the effects of isolated updates back into the view. To address this problem, we present a general algorithm that predicts the effects of arbitrary mapping policies. Given an update policy, this algorithm indicates whether a desired update will, in fact, occur in the view and describes all possible side effects it may have, documenting the conditions under which they occur. The algorithm subsumes the results obtained by other view design tools, and generalizes their use to encompass a larger class of views. 相似文献

Conducting electrospun fiber mats based on PLA and PAni blends were obtained with average diameter values between 87 and 1 006 nm with PAni quantities from 0 to 5.6 wt.‐%. Structural characteristics of fiber mats were compared to cast films with the same amount of PAni and studied by SEM, SAXS, and AFM. Thermal properties of fiber mats and cast films were compared by DSC analyses. Mechanical properties of fiber mats were also evaluated. It was found that electrospinning process governs the crystal structure of the fibers and strongly affects fiber properties. New properties of PLA/PAni blends are reported due to the size fiber reduction.
The aim of this study was to assess the hygiene practices of food handlers in municipal schools of Natal, Brazil, where 27 public schools were evaluated, using a checklist and microbiological analysis of hands. It was found that 74.1% of the handlers did not receive periodic training, 51.9% did not undergo annual health examinations and 100% did not practice proper hand hygiene, a situation that reflected significantly (p < 0.05) in hand contamination, in which fecal coliforms were detected on 55.6% of the hands analyzed. It was concluded that the schools studied did not have appropriate hygienic conditions, suggesting the need for interventions that ensure the quality of school food served to the children. 相似文献
The (1,4,8,11-tetramethyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetra-decane)nickel(I), [Ni(tmc)]+, electrogenerated at glassy carbon cathodes is shown to be an effective catalyst for the intramolecular radical-type cyclisation of bromoalkoxylated derivatives 1 in alcohol and/or alcohol/water mixtures as well as in microemulsions made with cationic and anionic surfactants. The results obtained indicate that the reaction proceeds via cleavage of the carbon–bromine bond to form a radical-type intermediate that undergoes cyclisation on the unsaturated C–C bond to afford substituted tetrahydrofurans. The reactions are more selective and take place at higher current density than when carried out in conventional aprotic solvents. 相似文献
