Cytochrome P450nor (P450nor), a nitric oxide reductase involved in the denitrifying system of the fungus Fusarium oxysporum, revealed molecular multiplicity. Two isoforms of P450nor, termed P450norA (norA) and P450norB (norB), were isolated. They had distinct isoelectric points of 5.1 (norA) and 4.9 (norB). However, their catalytic, spectroscopic, and immunological properties were almost identical. Partial amino acid sequences, involving 263 amino acid residues of norA and 278 residues of norB among 404 and 402 residues, respectively, were determined. Corresponding sequences in the isoforms were identical, and all of the determined partial sequences of norA or norB coincided with the sequence deduced from the CYP 55 gene or its cDNA. The amino acid sequence determination ruled out the possibility that there is a redox center in P450nor derived from amino acid residues, e.g., quinonoid cofactors. The only difference between norA and norB was in their N-termini. The N-terminus of norA was a threonine residue, whereas that of norB was an N-acetylated alanyl residue and norB was shorter by 2 residues than norA. The results suggested that norA and norB may be the products of the same gene, but translated from different initiation codons. The hypothetical precursor of norA would have a presequence containing targeting and sorting signals for transportation to the intermembrane space of mitochondria. This is consistent with the results of a Western-blot analysis which showed that norA was recovered only in particulate fractions, whereas norB was in the soluble fraction. It is therefore likely that the intracellular localizations as well as the N-termini of norA and norB are different, owing to the differences in the translational initiation codons and co/post-translational processings. 相似文献

Mean ranges of 119Sb in tin and 125I in copper have been measured for the energy region of 10 keV to 60 keV by using the samples prepared by ion-implantation of these nuclides into vacuum-evaporated layers of metals. The authors developed a new three-dimensional reconstruction method called "See-Through View (STV)" using a spiral CT in evaluating of cerebral arteriovenous malformation (AVM). Spiral CT was performed in eight patients with AVM. STV was obtained by reconstructing with a voxel transmission projection using a double threshold method. In all eight patients, STV images enable us to depict the nidus of AVM from all angles by see-throughing skull bone, evaluating the relationship of the vascular lesions adjacent to other cerebrovascular or skeletal structures. A marine microbe (strain SR21) from the coral reef area of the Yap Islands was isolated by a screening test for polyunsaturated
fatty acids and was found to accumulate lipid that contained 22:5n-6 docosapentaenoic acid (DPA) as well as 22:6n-3 docosahexaenoic
acid (DHA). Strain SR21 was identified as genusSchizochytrium in Labyrinthulomycota, owing to its ultrastructural character and life cycle, which is composed of vegetative cell, zoosporangium,
and zoospore stages. After cultural optimization, both in flask and fermenter, the highest DHA and DPA productivities of 2.0
and 0.44 g/L per day, respectively, were obtained in a medium of 60 g/L glucose and corn steep liquor/ammonium sulfate in
a half salt concentration of seawater in fermenter culture at 28°C and pH 4. This productivity was almost twice that obtained
with flask culture, indicating its high resistance to mechanical stirring. The lipid extracted from the cell was about 50%
of the dry cell weight and was composed of 93% triacylglycerol (TG). DHA content of the lipid was 34% of total fatty acids.
The TG profile was simple, and the content of the most dominant TG, 1,3-dipalmitoyl-2-DHA-TG, was 27%. TG that contained DHA
and n-6-DPA amounted to 57 and 17%, respectively, of total TG molecules. Strain SR21 was revealed to be an excellent source

Pressure fluctuation data were obtained in a semi‐cylindrical spout‐fluid bed with draft tube, and statistical analyses of them were employed to recognise flow regimes. Also, the effects of spouting‐gas and auxiliary‐gas velocities, and length of entrainment zone on solids loading ratio in a draft tube were examined. As a result, five flow regimes appeared by changing spouting‐gas and auxiliary‐gas velocities and it was found that the simplest method to determine flow regime is to measure pressure fluctuations in a draft tube. Drying of sintered spheres of coarse glass beads with a wide sintering range in superheated steam under vacuum was studied. In samples with sintered angles of 7.5° –27°, the experimental normalized drying rates in superheated steam at pressures of 7.3-7.9mmHg were smaller than those for 56.0-767.6 mmHg in the vicinity of the critical moisture cotents for 56.0-767.6GmmHg. Perovskite solid solutions of (La0.6Sr0.4)(X1−yMgy)O3−δ (X = Ti, Zr, Al) were prepared by a coprecipitation method using corresponding aqueous solutions and ammonium carbonate solution. The freeze-dried powders were sintered in air at 1000-1500 °C for 1-36 h. Single phase solid solutions were produced in the compositions of (La0.6Sr0.4)(Zr0.6Mg0.4)O3−δ and (La0.6Sr0.4)(Al0.9Mg0.1)O3−δ where (3 − δ) < 3. For the compositions of X = Ti and Zr for y = 0.1 where (3 − δ) > 3, two phases including perovskite solid solution were produced at 1400-1500 °C. The stability of perovskite solid solution was closely related to the fraction of lattice oxygen atom (3 − δ). A relatively high conductivity was measured for (La0.6Sr0.4)(Al0.9Mg0.1)O3−δ (σ = 4.15 × 10−4 S/cm at 600 °C, activation energy 113.4 kJ/mol). When the gravitational field is perpendicular to the vortex line as in the experiments, the system is no longer axisymmetric and the vortex is not always stable. A new epoxy resin containing the pyrene moiety in the backbone (3) was synthesized and confirmed by gel permeation chromatography and field‐desorption mass spectroscopy and infrared spectroscopy. In addition, to evaluate the influence of the pyrene moiety on the structure, epoxy resins having an anthrylene moiety (5) and having a phenylene moiety (7) were synthesized. The cured polymer obtained through the curing reaction between 3 and phenol novolac was used for making a comparison of its thermal properties with those obtained from 5, 7, and bisphenol‐A (4,4′‐isopropylidenediphenyl)‐type epoxy resin (Bis‐EA). The cured polymer obtained from 3 showed a higher glass transition temperature, lower coefficient of linear thermal expansion, lower moisture absorption, and markedly higher anaerobic char yield at 700°C of 37.6 wt %, which might be attributed to the higher aromaticity of 3 containing the pyrene moiety. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
