Thermochromic VO2 thin films were deposited on soda-lime glass via sol-gel method. Doping was done through adding tungstic acid solution to the vanadium solution precursor. Grazing incidence x-ray diffractometer (GIXRD) results showed that VO2 and V6O13 phases were formed together in the heat-treated sample. According to the GIXRD result of the W-doped sample, only VO2 remained. Field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) micrographs showed that the VO2 grain size decreased from about 70 to about 25 nm for undoped film and 2 wt% W-doped films, respectively. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) results showed that the root mean square roughness for the film with 180 nm thickness was about 18 nm, and 2 wt% W-doped film had a smoother surface. Diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) results showed that the band gap energy for undoped, 1 wt% W- doped, and 2 wt% W-doped VO2 thin films was 1.7, 1.3, and 0 eV, respectively. Four-point probe resistivity measurements showed a significant decrement, from approximately 1 MΩ at 15°C to <100 Ω at 80°C. Regarding Vis-NIR spectroscopy results, maximum optical transmission for undoped and W-doped films was approximately 75% and 35%, respectively. 相似文献

ABSTRACTThis paper reports an experimental investigation on the response of a turbulent wake past an elongated flat plate to various upstream flow conditions Different tripping wires were placed on the upper side of the plate downstream the leading edge resulting in asymmetric shear layers evolving from the trailing edges. Mean flow and turbulent fields of the asymmetric wakes were compared to their symmetrical counterpart. The symmetrical wake was found to attain a self-similar state whereas asymmetric wakes continued to slowly evolve towards an expected asymptotic behavior at a rate that strongly depends on the imposed initial conditions. 相似文献

Advancements in the catalytic naphtha reforming process, as one of the main processes in petrochemical industry, contributed to development of continuous catalytic regenerative naphtha reformer units. Increasing the yield of aromatic and hydrogen as well as saving the energy in this process through the application of thermal coupling technique is a potentially interesting idea. This novel idea has been assessed in this paper. In the proposed configuration, continuous catalyst regeneration naphtha reforming process is coupled with hydrogenation of nitrobenzene in a two co-axial reactor separated by a solid wall, where the generated heat in nitrobenzene hydrogenation reaction transfers to naphtha reforming reaction medium through the surface of the tube. A steady-state, homogeneous, two-dimensional model is used to describe the performance of this configuration and a kinetic model including 32 pseudo-components with 84 reactions is considered for naphtha reforming reaction. After validating the model with the commercial data of a domestic plant, the obtained results of coupled reactor are compared by the conventional one. The contact time of particles at the walls of gas fluidized beds has been studied using a radioactive particle tracking technique to monitor the position of a radioactive tracer. The solids used were sand or FCC particles fluidized by air at room temperature and atmospheric pressure at various superficial velocities, covering both bubbling and turbulent regimes of fluidization. Based on the analysis of tracer positions, the motion of individual particles near the walls of the fluidized bed was studied. The contact time, contact distance and contact frequency of the particles at the wall were evaluated from these experimental data. It was found that in a bed of sand particles, the mean wall contact time of the fluidized bed of sand particles decreases by increasing the gas velocity in the bubbling and increases in the turbulent fluidization. In other words, the particle-wall contact time is minimum at the onset of turbulent fluidization in the bed of sand particles. However, the mean wall contact time is almost constant in both regimes of fluidization in the bed of FCC particles. All the existing models in the literature predict a decreasing contact time when the gas velocity in the bed is increased. It was also shown that the contact distance increases monotonously by increasing the gas velocity in the bed of sand particles, while it is almost constant for the bed of FCC particles. Laminar mixed convection of Al2O3/water nanofluid flow in a cavity in which the upper wall is moving from right to left has been studied numerically. Fifteen different arrangements of two discrete sources and four discrete sinks have been considered. This work shows when one source is located at the right side of the bottom wall and other one at the down half of the left wall, total heat transfer achieves its maximum value. The lowest heat transfer rate is achieved when more than two vortexes are created in the cavity (case 13 for Ri=1 and case 5 for Ri=100). In general, for cases with one overall vortex, the cavities which have separate sources induce better cooling and have higher Nu number. 相似文献

Rank deficiency is the major problem associated with the chemometrics modeling of the second-order chemical reactions of the form of A + B → C. In this article, the application of the hard-soft-net analyte signal (HS-NAS), as a newly proposed method in our research group, is described for modeling of second-order reactions. This combined hard-soft method is based on the net analyte signal (NAS) concept, which is defined as a part of total signal that is directly related to the concentration of the component of interest. Therefore, concentration changes versus time can be obtained by calculating NAS for any chemical species involved in the reaction without requiring any pure component spectra or extra runs. The power of the method was verified by applying it to the resolution of simulated data sets containing noises added at different levels. The resolution of the second-order reaction between amoxicillin and 1, 2-naphthoqoinone was also tested as a real chemical system. 相似文献

Flexible manufacturing systems are often designed as flowshops supported by automated material handling devices that facilitate routing among any two processors of adjacent stages. This routing structure is complex, and results in excessive capital investment and costs of management. In this paper we propose a decomposition of two-stage flowshops into smaller independent flowlines that allow for unidirectional routing only. We solve optimally the problem of minimizing makespan on two parallel flowlines, by means of a Dynamic Programming algorithm (DP). Based on DP we develop lower bounds on the throughput performance of environments that consist of more than two flowlines. We present several heuristic algorithms and report their optimality gaps. Using these algorithms, we show that the decomposition of two stage flowshops with complicated routing into flowline-like designs with unidirectional routing is associated with minor losses in throughput performance, and hence significant savings in material handling costs. 相似文献

We consider a flexible manufacturing system with a number of workstations, a single material transporter, and a common storage space of finite capacity. The material handling delay times are explicitly considered in the model and assumed to follow a two-stage Coxian distribution. The material processing times on a workstation also have a two-stage Coxian distribution. The routing of parts within the system follows a Markov chain. An approximate performance model is developed and the results are compared with the exact or simulation results. We also investigate how this performance model compares to a simulation with deterministic routing and processing times. BACKGROUND: A large number of bacterial, fungal and microalgal species are able to bio‐transform steroid compounds. Among them, fungi from the Mucor genus have been shown to mediate hydroxylation, oxidation, and desaturation by the double bond formation and epoxidation of various steroid substances. Mucor racemocus has not been studied for its ability to modify androst‐1,4‐dien‐3,17‐dione, a pharmaceutically important steroid precursor. RESULTS: The filamentous fungus M. racemosus was applied for bioconversion of androst‐1,4‐dien‐3,17‐dione (ADD, I ) in a 5‐day fermentation. Microbial metabolites were purified chromatographically and identified on the basis of their spectral data as 17β‐hydroxyandrost‐1,4‐dien‐3‐one ( II ), 14α‐hydroxyandrost‐1,4‐dien‐3,17‐dione ( III ), 15α‐hydroxyandrost‐1,4‐dien‐3,17‐dione ( IV ), 15α,17β‐dihydroxyandrost‐1,4‐dien‐3‐one ( V ), 14α,17β‐dihydroxyandrost‐1,4‐dien‐3‐one ( VI ), and 6β,17β‐dihydroxyandrost‐1,4‐dien‐3‐one ( VII ). CONCLUSION: Observed modifications included hydroxylation at C‐6β, C‐14α, C‐15α positions and 17‐carbonyl reduction. The best fermentation conditions for production of hydroxysteroid‐1,4‐dien‐3‐one derivatives were found to be 25 °C at 150 rpm for 5 days with a substrate concentration of 0.5 g L?1.
