The monitoring of synthetic dyes in foods is very important due to their potential harmfulness to human beings. Herein, a carbon-paste electrode (CPE) that is chemically modified with gold nanoparticles (nAu) was fabricated and used for the determination of Sunset yellow (SY) and Tartrazine (Tz). Cyclic and differential pulse voltammetry (CV and DPV) results revealed two well-resolved anodic peaks for SY and Tz with remarkably increase in oxidation signals of these colourants. Based on this, a novel electrochemical method was developed for the simultaneous determination of SY and Tz. High sensitivity and selectivity, sub-micromolar detection limit, high reproducibility and regeneration of the electrode surface by simple polishing make the nAu-CPE electrode very suitable for the determination of SY and Tz in commercially available soft drinks. The detection limits was 3.0 × 10−8 and 2.0 × 10−9 mol l−1 for SY and Tz, respectively, which are remarkably lower than those reported previously for SY and Tz using other modified electrodes. 相似文献

Adsorption of pure carbon dioxide and methane was examined on activated carbon prepared from pine cone by chemical activation with H3PO4 to determine the potential for the separation of CO2 from CH4. The prepared adsorbent was characterized by N2 adsorption-desorption, elemental analysis, FTIR, SEM and TEM. The equilibrium adsorption of CO2 and CH4 on AC was determined at 298, 308 and 318 K and pressure range of 1–16 bar. The experimental data of both gases were analyzed using Langmuir and Freundlich models. For CO2, the Langmuir isotherm presented a perfect fit, whereas the isotherm of CH4 was well described by Freundlich model. The selectivity of CO2 over CH4 by AC (CO2: CH4=50: 50, 298K, 5 bar), predicted by ideal adsorbed solution theory (IAST) model, was achieved at 1.68. These data demonstrated that pine cone-based AC prepared in this study can be successfully used in separation of CO2 from CH4. 相似文献

The effect of age and dietary fat type on tocopherol status was investigated using young and old C57BL/6Nia mice fed semipurified
diets containing 5% (by weight) fish, corn or coconut oils and supplemented with 30, 100 or 500 ppm dl-α-tocopheryl acetate
for 6 wk. Tocopherol levels in the diets, plasma, liver, kidney and lung were measured by high performance liquid chromatography
following appropriate extractions. The results indicate that mice fed fish oil maintain lower plasma and tissue tocopherol
concentrations than those fed corn and cononut oils (fish<corn oil<coconut oil). The difference was not due to a loss of tocopherol
prior to consumption, but rather appeared to occur during the absorption process. Old mice had lower plasma and liver tocopherol
concentrations than young mice. Old mice fed fish oil, however, maintained plasma tocopherol levels better than young mice
fed fish oil, presumably due to their larger tocopherol pool. No age effect was detected on kidney and lung tocopherol levels.
It is concluded that tocopherol status is affected by age and dietary fat type, especially fish oil. 相似文献

Carbon nanotube field-effect transistors (CNFETs) show great promise as building blocks of future integrated circuits. However, synthesizing single-walled carbon nanotubes (CNTs) with accurate chirality and exact positioning control has been widely acknowledged as an exceedingly complex task. Indeed, density and chirality variations in CNT growth can compromise the reliability of CNFET-based circuits. In this paper, we present a novel statistical compact model to estimate the failure probability of CNFETs to provide some material and process guidelines for the design of CNFETs in gigascale integrated circuits. We use measured CNT spacing distributions within the framework of detailed failure analysis to demonstrate that both the CNT density and the ratio of metallic to semiconducting CNTs play dominant roles in defining the failure probability of CNFETs. Besides, it is argued that the large-scale integration of these devices within an integrated circuit will be feasible only if a specific range of CNT density with an acceptable ratio of semiconducting to metallic CNTs can be adjusted in a typical synthesis process. 相似文献

Au/TiO2/Ti electrodes have been prepared by galvanic deposition of gold particles on TiO2 nanotube substrates. Titanium oxide nanotubes are fabricated by anodizing titanium foil in a Dimethyl Sulfoxide electrolyte containing fluoride. The scanning electron microscopy results indicated that gold particles are homogeneously deposited on the surface of TiO2 nanotubes. The TiO2 layers consist of individual tubes of about 40-80 nm diameters. The electro-catalytic behavior of Au/TiO2/Ti and flat gold electrodes for the ascorbic acid electro-oxidation was studied by cyclic voltammetry. The results showed that the flat gold electrode is not suitable for the oxidation of ascorbic acid. However, the Au/TiO2/Ti electrodes are shown to possess catalytic activity toward the oxidation reaction. Catalytic oxidation peak current showed a linear dependence on the ascorbic acid concentration and a linear calibration curve is obtained in the concentration range of 1-5 mM of ascorbic acid. Also, determination of ascorbic acid in real samples was evaluated. The obtained results were found to be satisfactory. Many countries have experienced restructuring in their electric utilities. This restructuring has presented the power industries with new challenges, the most important of which is long-term investment planning under uncertain conditions. This paper presents an improved mechanism for capacity payment. The mechanism has been investigated based on system dynamic modeling. In our proposed mechanism, generators will recover a part of their investment through capacity payment. While the payment for any plant remains constant during the operation period, it depends on the investment needed to build it. The main factors affecting long-term planning have been considered in our model. The approach can be used to investigate the effects of fixed as well as variable capacity payment in market investment. We used the probability density function of load as a new concept to calculate average market price. Delays in unit constructions, estimation of demand, and market capacity growth during construction periods have been included in the proposed algorithm as parameters, which affect the regulator's decision for changing capacity payment. The model can be used by regulators to investigate strategies that may affect the fluctuations in the market. 相似文献
