Results of switching behavior of the improper ferroelectric LuFeO3 are presented. Using a model set of films prepared under controlled chemical and growth-rate conditions, it is shown that defects can reduce the quasi-static switching voltage by up to 40% in qualitative agreement with first-principles calculations. Switching studies show that the coercive field has a stronger frequency dispersion for the improper ferroelectrics compared to a proper ferroelectric such as PbTiO3. It is concluded that the primary structural order parameter controls the switching dynamics of such improper ferroelectrics.  相似文献

A top‐down/bottom‐up approach is demonstrated by combining electron‐beam (e‐beam) lithography and a solvent annealing process. Micellar arrays of polystyrene‐block‐poly(4‐vinylpyridine) (PS‐b‐P4VP) with a high degree of lateral order can be produced on a surface where sectoring is defined by e‐beam patterning. The e‐beam is used to crosslink the block copolymer (BCP) film immediately after spin‐coating when the BCP is disordered or in a highly ordered solvent‐annealed film. Any patterns can be written into the BCP by crosslinking. Upon exposure to a preferential solvent for the minor component block followed by drying, cylindrical nanopores are generated within the nonexposed areas by a surface reconstruction process, while, in the exposed areas, the films remain unchanged. Nickel nanodot arrays can be placed over selected areas on a surface by thermal evaporation and lift‐off process.  相似文献

This paper is a case study of thermodynamics and economics related analyses applied to an existing gas/steam combined cycle cogeneration plant. Basic thermodynamic properties of the plant are determined by energy analysis utilizing main operation conditions. Exergy destructions within the plant and exergy losses to environment are investigated to determine thermodynamic inefficiencies and to assist for guiding future improvements in the plant. Cost balances and auxiliary equations are applied to several subsystems in the plant, hence, cost formation in the plant is observed. The levels of trace elements in different types of baby foods consumed in Turkey were determined by flame and graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry. Dry, wet and microwave digestion procedures were compared and the microwave digestion method was found to be the best. The accuracy of the method was ensured by using a standard reference material (NIST-SRM 8418 Wheat Gluten). The levels of elements in analyzed samples were found to be under legal limits. The range of the investigated elements were 0.52–4.38 μg/g, 0.22–7.20 μg/g, 1.02–67.5 μg/g, 0.92–37.2 μg/g, 0.12–0.32 μg/g, 2.02–68.8 μg/kg, 10.7–66.8 μg/kg, 0.05–10.3 μg/g, 2.67–25.4 μg/kg for Cu, Mn, Fe, Zn, Se, Cr, Al, Ni and Co, respectively.  相似文献

A number of various organic and inorganic contaminants are commonly present in the technological fluids hindering production quality. Importantly, waste influents must be purified to meet the appropriate environmental standards for their disposal. This paper deals with the development of a treatment technique for technological and wastewater streams allowing the separation of microscopic droplets of water, sand, oil and other organic and inorganic contaminants. Some existing approaches and processes for treatment of contaminated fluids are briefly reviewed and the design of an electromagnetic hydrocyclone separator is presented in this paper. The effect of the main forces on the separation of small‐sized impurities (<10 μm) is analysed. The experimental tests demonstrated the efficiency of the developed apparatus in purifying the industrial wastewaters of the textile dyeing industry.  相似文献

High temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cells (HT-PEMFC), which operate between 160 °C and 200 °C, can be generally used in portable and stationary power generation applications. In this study, a one-dimensional, semi-empirical, and steady-state model of a HT-PEMFC fed with a gas mixture consisting of hydrogen and carbon monoxide is developed. Some modeling parameters are adjusted using empirical data, which are obtained conducting experiments on a HT-PEMFC for different values of Pt loading and cell temperature. For adjusting these parameters, the total summation of the square of the difference between the cell voltages found using the experimental and theoretical methods is minimized using genetic algorithm. After finding the values of the adjusted parameters, the effects of different cell temperature, Pt loading, phosphoric acid (PA) percentage, and different binders (PBI and PVDF) on the performance of the fuel cell are examined. It was found that, the performance of the fuel cell using PVDF binder exhibited better performance as compared to that using PBI binder.  相似文献

Due to sudden declines in groundwater levels in Neyshabur Plain, one of the most important parts of water supply management programs at the catchment scale is to accurately predict the groundwater level fluctuations. In this paper, the rainfall data from 22 rain gauges and evapotranspiration stations during the period of 1974–2015 were used to find the cumulative effects of rainfall and evapotranspiration on fluctuations in groundwater levels. First, using the Hargreaves-Samani method, the modified evapotranspiration was calculated on the plain. Using the Kriging method, the average amount of precipitation and evapotranspiration of the reference plant was also calculated. Then, employing the fuzzy logic, the fuzzy standardized evapotranspiration and precipitation index (SEPI) was produced. The correlation results between SEPI indicator and fluctuations in groundwater levels showed that the long-term time scales had greater correlations. Thus, the correlations for the time scales of 30, 36, 42, 48, 54 and 60 months were respectively obtained as 0.56, 0.68, 0.71, 0.69, 0.59 and 046. These six parameters were used for principal components analysis (PCA) and the selection criteria (SC) index was used to select the properties affecting every component. The ranking results of testing local linear regression with PCA (LLR-PCA) and dynamic local linear regression with PCA (DLLR-PCA) models, Broyden, Fletcher, Goldfarb, Shanno algorithm with PCA (BFGS-PCA) neural network and Conjugate Gradient-PCA indicated that the DLLR model with three main components had the best performance so that the values of R2, RMSE, MBE and MAE were obtained as 0.84, 0.215, 0.028 and 0.162, respectively. The results generally showed that due to severe linearity between SEPI indicator and its time scales, the use of PCA is essential for simulating fluctuations of the groundwater levels.  相似文献

Forecasting stream flow is a very importance issue in water resources planning and management. The ability of three soft computing methods, least square support vector machine (LSSVM), fuzzy genetic algorithm (FGA) and M5 model tree (M5T), in forecasting daily and monthly stream flows of poorly gauged mountainous watershed using nearby hydro-meteorological data is investigated in the current study. In the first application, monthly stream flows of Hunza river are forecasted using local stream flow data of Hunza and precipitation and temperature data of nearby station. LSSVM provides slightly better forecasts than the FGA and M5T models. Stream flow and temperature inputs generally give better forecasts compared to other inputs. In the second application, daily stream flows of Hunza river are forecasted using local stream flow data of Hunza and precipitation and temperature data of nearby station. Better results are obtained from the models comprising only stream flow inputs. In general, a better accuracy is obtained from LSSVM models in relative to the FGA and M5T. The results indicate that the monthly and daily stream flows of Hunza can be accurately forecasted by using only nearby climatic data. In the third application, daily stream flows of Hunza river are forecasted using local stream flow and climatic data and the models’ accuracy is slightly increased in relative to the previous applications. LSSVM generally performs superior to the FGA and M5T in forecasting daily stream flow of Hunza river using local stream flow and climatic inputs.  相似文献

Scan-based testing of integrated circuits results in significant switching activity during the shift operations, dissipating excessive power levels. When such levels are beyond the peak power level under which the chip can functionally operate at, it may lead to an unexpected behavior of the design, resulting in a yield loss. One of the most effective solutions to reduce peak shift power is to partition the scan chains into multiple groups, wherein a single group is active at any time instance within a shift cycle. The partitioning of the chains into groups can be performed statically, i.e., per test set, or dynamically, i.e., per test pattern. In this work, we address the application of dynamic scan chain partitioning for reducing peak shift power. First, we address the application of dynamic partitioning to test delay faults in at-speed test techniques. Then, we formulate the scan chain partitioning problem via Integer Linear Programming (ILP), in order to evenly distribute the transitions produced by any pattern over multiple time instances within the shift cycle, maximally reducing the peak shift power. Finally, we evaluate the power reduction benefit of dynamic partitioning through an extensive set of experiments using different scan configurations and test set characteristics of benchmark circuits as well as industrial designs. The results indicate that dynamic partitioning provides significant reduction to peak shift power over static partitioning methods, and that the benefit is accentuated in scan architectures with fewer scan chains, test sets with more don’t care bits, and designs with larger variances of weight differences for transitions in the scan cells.  相似文献
