We introduce a method for surface reconstruction from point sets that is able to cope with noise and outliers. First, a splat-based representation is computed from the point set. A robust local 3D RANSAC-based procedure is used to filter the point set for outliers, then a local jet surface – a low-degree surface approximation – is fitted to the inliers. Second, we extract the reconstructed surface in the form of a surface triangle mesh through Delaunay refinement. The Delaunay refinement meshing approach requires computing intersections between line segment queries and the surface to be meshed. In the present case, intersection queries are solved from the set of splats through a 1D RANSAC procedure. 相似文献

The paper presents a stress-based approach that copes with the optimal design of truss-like elastic structures in case of unilateral behavior of material or ground supports. The conventional volume-constrained minimization of compliance is coupled with a set of local stress constraints that are enforced, all over the domain or along prescribed boundaries, to control the arising of members with tension-only or compression-only strength. A Drucker–Prager failure criterion is formulated to provide a smooth approximation of the no-tension or no-compression conditions governing the stress field. A selection strategy is implemented to handle efficiently the multi-constrained formulation that is solved through mathematical programming. Benchmark examples are investigated to discuss the features of the achieved optimal designs, as compared with problems involving material and ground supports with equal behavior in tension and compression. Numerical simulations show that a limited set of constraints is needed in the first iterations to steer the solution of the energy-driven optimization towards designs accounting for the prescribed assumption of unilateral strength. 相似文献

The so-called bi-value coding parameterization (BCP) method is developed for the simultaneous optimization of layout design and discrete fiber orientations of laminated structures related to the compliance minimization and natural frequency maximization. Both kinds of problems are transformed into a discrete material selection problem that is then solved as a continuous topology optimization problem with multiphase materials. A new form of the volume constraint is introduced in accordance with the BCP to control the material usage and material removal in the corresponding problem formulation. The BCP scheme assigning the integer value of +1 or -1 to each design variable for the unique “coding” is efficiently used to interpolate discrete fiber orientations and to identify the presence and removal of materials. Meanwhile, a general set-up strategy is proposed by assigning “uniform” weight values in BCP to ensure the feasibility of the initial starting point. Numerical tests illustrate that the BCP is efficient in dealing with both kinds of design problems including the volume constraint. 相似文献

We propose a robust 2D shape reconstruction and simplification algorithm which takes as input a defect‐laden point set with noise and outliers. We introduce an optimal‐transport driven approach where the input point set, considered as a sum of Dirac measures, is approximated by a simplicial complex considered as a sum of uniform measures on 0‐ and 1‐simplices. A fine‐to‐coarse scheme is devised to construct the resulting simplicial complex through greedy decimation of a Delaunay triangulation of the input point set. Our method performs well on a variety of examples ranging from line drawings to grayscale images, with or without noise, features, and boundaries. 相似文献

This paper investigates how to adapt a discrepancy-based search method to solve two-stage hybrid flowshop scheduling problems in which each stage consists of several identical machines operating in parallel. The objective is to determine a schedule that minimizes the makespan. We present an adaptation of the Climbing Depth-bounded Discrepancy Search (CDDS) method based on Johnson’s rule and on dedicated lower bounds for the two-stage hybrid flow shop problem. We report the results of extensive computational experiments, which show that the proposed adaptation of the CDDS method solves instances in restrained CPU time and with high quality of makespan. 相似文献

This paper addresses the problem of localizing people in low and high density crowds with a network of heterogeneous cameras. The problem is recast as a linear inverse problem. It relies on deducing the discretized occupancy vector of people on the ground, from the noisy binary silhouettes observed as foreground pixels in each camera. This inverse problem is regularized by imposing a sparse occupancy vector, i.e., made of few non-zero elements, while a particular dictionary of silhouettes linearly maps these non-empty grid locations to the multiple silhouettes viewed by the cameras network. The proposed framework is (i) generic to any scene of people, i.e., people are located in low and high density crowds, (ii) scalable to any number of cameras and already working with a single camera, (iii) unconstrained by the scene surface to be monitored, and (iv) versatile with respect to the camera??s geometry, e.g., planar or omnidirectional. Qualitative and quantitative results are presented on the APIDIS and the PETS 2009 Benchmark datasets. The proposed algorithm successfully detects people occluding each other given severely degraded extracted features, while outperforming state-of-the-art people localization techniques. 相似文献

In this paper we present the approach for autonomous planetary exploration developed at the Canadian Space Agency. The goal of this work is to enable autonomous navigation to remote locations, well beyond the sensing horizon of the rover, with minimal interaction with a human operator. We employ LIDAR range sensors due to their accuracy, long range and robustness in the harsh lighting conditions of space. Irregular Triangular Meshes (ITMs) are used for representing the environment, providing an accurate, yet compact, spatial representation. In this paper a novel path-planning technique through the ITM is introduced, which guides the rover through flat terrain and safely away from obstacles. This article evaluates the potential of capacitive measurements using flexible electrodes to access various physical quantities. These electrodes are made of a thin metallic film, typical thickness 0.2 microm, evaporated on a plastic substrate. Their large flexibility enables them to be mounted in complex geometries such as curved surfaces. In the configuration of planar condensers, using a very sensitive commercial capacitive bridge and a three-terminal measurement method, several measurements are presented. A relative resolution of 10(-8) for the thermal expansion of samples is obtained at low temperature in a differential configuration. The same technique adopted for pressure gauge measurements at low temperature led to a typical 0.1 Pa resolution over a dynamic range of 10(4) Pa. In the configuration of interleaved electrodes, condensers have been used to measure wetting by either bulk liquid helium or by thin continuous helium films in a cylindrical pipe. Both experimental and numerical evidence is provided, showing that the close proximity of a reference ground potential significantly increases the relative sensitivity to fluid wetting. Further, interleaved electrodes can be used to access both the area that is covered by a liquid film but also to determine the thickness of this film, provided it is comparable to the periodicity of the electrode pattern. 相似文献
