Heat transfer for flow boiling of water and critical heat flux (CHF) experiments in a half‐circumferentially heated round tube under low‐pressure conditions were carried out. To clarify the flow patterns in the heated section, experiments in the round tube under the same conditions were also carried out, and their results were compared. The experiments were conducted with atmospheric‐pressure water in test sections with inner diameter D = 6 mm, heated length L = 360 mm, inlet water subcooling ΔTin = 80 K, and mass velocity G from 0 to 2000 kg/(m2·s) for the half‐circumferentially heated round tube and from 0 to 7000 kg/(m2·s) for the full‐circumferentially heated tube. The experimental data demonstrated that the wall temperature near the outlet of the half‐circumferentially heated tube remained almost the same until CHF. It was found that burnout occurred when the flow regime changed from churn flow to annular flow, and the liquid film on the heated wall dried out although liquid film on the unheated wall remained. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We investigated the correlation between the temperature coefficient of elasticity (TCE) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) absorption spectra of SiO(2) for SAW devices. The measurement indicated that the TCE is strongly correlated with peak frequencies; that is, with the fractional change of the Si-O-Si bond angle with temperature.  相似文献

Cancer is one of the most common causes of death worldwide. Along with the advances in diagnostic technology achieved through industry–academia partnerships, the survival rate of cancer patients has improved dramatically through treatments that include surgery, radiation therapy, and pharmacotherapy. This has increased the population of cancer “survivors” and made cancer survivorship an important part of life for patients. The senses of taste and smell during swallowing and cachexia play important roles in dysphagia associated with nutritional disorders in cancer patients. Cancerous lesions in the brain can cause dysphagia. Taste and smell disorders that contribute to swallowing can worsen or develop because of pharmacotherapy or radiation therapy; metabolic or central nervous system damage due to cachexia, sarcopenia, or inflammation can also cause dysphagia. As the causes of eating disorders in cancer patients are complex and involve multiple factors, cancer patients require a multifaceted and long-term approach by the medical care team.  相似文献

The goal of this study was to examine the effects of oral administration of bovine milk from cows hyperimmunized with a proprietary bacterin (immune milk “Sustaina”) on mucosal immunity in the intestine of adult mice. C57BL/6 mice were orally given immune or control milk for two weeks, and then lymphocyte population and the cytokine production in lamina propria of colon in normal mice and mice induced colitis by dextran sulphate sodium (DSS) were detected. We found that the levels of IFN-γ and IL-10 increased, but the levels of IL-17A and IL-4, decreased in lamina propria of colon in immune milk-fed mice as compared with those in control milk-fed mice. Interestingly, oral administration of immune milk partially improved the acute colitis induced by DSS. The levels of TNF-α and IFN-γ increased, but IL-6, IL-17A and IL-4 decreased in lamina propria (LP) of colon in immune milk-fed mice with DSS-induced colitis. Our results suggest that immune milk may stimulate CD4+ T cells to polarize towards a Th1 type response, but contrarily suppress Th17 and Th2 cells responses in large intestinal LP of mice. The results indicate that this kind of immune milk has is able to promote the maintainance of intestinal homeostasis and enhance protection against infection, and could alleviate the symptoms of acute colitis in mice.  相似文献

In the presence of a catalytic system comprised of palladium(II) acetate and tricyclohexylphosphine, the reaction of fluorene with haloarenes generated 9‐arylfluorenes in good to excellent yields. The scope and limitations of the coupling reaction were investigated. This synthetic protocol is more efficient than conventional methods. A wide range of functional groups, including alkyl, alkoxy, ester, and nitrile, can tolerate the reaction conditions herein. Sterically congested haloarenes also gave satisfactory results. Furthermore, this synthetic method is utilized to prepare 9,9‐diarylfluorenes and tetraarylindenofluorene. Depending on the reaction conditions, the arylation of bowl‐shaped sumanene gave monoarylated sumanene either as the sole product or with another diaryl‐substituted product.  相似文献

A fast‐rising pulsed power generator (PPG) using a coaxial magnetic pulse compression (MPC) system has been developed. Two kinds of magnetic cores, a Co‐based amorphous metal and a nanocrystalline Fe‐based soft magnetic metal, have been used in the coaxial MPC system to evaluate losses of magnetic cores and leakage current of a saturable inductor. The PPG produced a pulsed‐high‐current of 3.7 kA with a risetime of 7 ns (20–80%) at a repetition frequency of 1000 pulses per second. © 2012 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan. Chalcogenide coatings are investigated to obtain either optical components for spectral applications or optochemical sensors in the mid-infrared. The deposition of Ge(15)Sb(20)S(65) and Te(20)As(30)Se(50) chalcogenide glasses is performed by two physical techniques: electron-beam and pulsed-laser deposition. The quality of the film is analyzed by scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, and energy dispersive spectroscopy to characterize the morphology, topography, and chemical composition. The optical properties and optical constants are also determined. A CF(4) dry etching is performed on these films to obtain a channeled optical waveguide. For a passband filter made by electron-beam deposition, cryolite as a low-refractive-index material and chalcogenide glasses as high-refractive-index materials are used to favor a large refractive-index contrast. A shift of a centered wavelength of a photosensitive passband filter is controlled by illumination time.  相似文献

A subnanosecond time-resolved ultraviolet (UV) resonance Raman system has been developed to study protein structural dynamics. The system is based on a 1 kHz Nd:YLF-pumped Ti:Sapphire regenerative amplifier with harmonic generation that can deliver visible (412, 440, 458, and 488 nm) and UV (206, 220, 229, and 244 nm) pulses. A subnanosecond (0.2 ns) tunable near-infrared pulse from a custom-made Ti:Sapphire oscillator is used to seed the regenerative amplifier. A narrow linewidth of the subnanosecond pulse offers the advantage of high resolution of UV resonance Raman spectra, which is critical to obtain site-specific information on protein structures. By combination with a 1 m single spectrograph equipped with a 3600 grooves/mm holographic grating and a custom-made prism prefilter, the present system achieves excellent spectral (<10 cm(-1)) and frequency (approximately 1 cm(-1)) resolutions with a relatively high temporal resolution (<0.5 ns). We also report the application of this system to two heme proteins, hemoglobin A and CooA, with the 440 nm pump and 220 nm probe wavelengths. For hemoglobin A, a structural change during the transition to the earliest intermediate upon CO photodissociation is successfully observed, specifically, nanosecond cleavage of the A-E interhelical hydrogen bonds within each subunit at Trpalpha14 and Trpbeta15 residues. For CooA, on the other hand, rapid structural distortion (<0.5 ns) by CO photodissociation and nanosecond structural relaxation following CO geminate recombination are observed through the Raman bands of Phe and Trp residues located near the heme. These results demonstrate the high potential of this instrument to detect local protein motions subsequent to photoreactions in their active sites.  相似文献

Pretreatment conditions for the activation of Ir/WO3–SiO2 for the selective catalytic reduction of NO by CO in the presence of excess O2 were studied. Sequential treatment involving calcination in the presence of O2 and H2O followed by reduction and then re-oxidation under mild conditions was found to effectively activate Ir/WO3–SiO2. Temperature-programmed desorption during calcination, X-ray diffraction, and temperature-programmed reduction by H2 revealed that calcination was necessary for oxidative removal of the NH3 ligands from the iridium precursor, that reduction produced metallic iridium and partially reduced tungsten oxide, and that re-oxidation produced tungsten oxide with low reducibility. Transmission electron microscopy revealed that Ir was supported on finely dispersed tungsten oxide and that the iridium particle size after the sequential activation was 1–1.5 nm.  相似文献
