In order to model heat transfer from the slab to the cooling agent in the continuous casting process the thermophysical properties of the surface layer must be taken into account. For this purpose thermal conductivities and thermal diffusivities of wustite as well as of two carbon steels were measured. The oxide scale growth for six steels was measured as a function of time and at temperatures between 900 and 1200°C in air and in steam. Complex heterogeneous oxide scales were examined by optical and scanning electron microscopy, by SIMS, as well as by Mössbauer spectroscopy. Segregation of alloying elements in the metal-oxide contact zone was found. Cracks due to thermal stresses result in spalling of the scale. Therefore, a straightforward use of the data for process modelling can principally not be recommended without restrictions.  相似文献

For the near-net-shape casting of thin steel strips a liquid steel feeding system is developed. This article at first describes the development of a water model for the complete casting machine (cold tests). In this model the control concept for the low-pressure tundish is designed and tested. As a subsequent stage to the water model trials, the functional ability of the casting machine concepts, and particularly to the tundish concepts, is verified in separately conducted tundish tests and also in strip casting trials (hot tests).  相似文献

The percutaneous Hemopump showed beneficial effects during coronary angioplasty in 32 high-risk patients with unloading of the left ventricle during ischemia and maintaining cardiac output with mean aortic pressures of 50 mm Hg in case of cardiac arrest (3 patients). High procedure-related morbidity (occlusion of femoral artery in 2 patients; bleeding with need of transfusion in 4 patients) and mortality (4 of 32 patients) rates demonstrate the need for a very careful selection of patients.  相似文献

PURPOSE: The objective was to evaluate the degradation profile of the elastase inhibitor DMP 777 and lay the foundation for formulation development. METHODS: The pKa was determined by potentiometric titration in mixed-aqueous solvents. The degradation kinetics were studied as a function of pH, buffer concentration, ionic strength, methanol concentration and temperature using a stability-indicating HPLC assay. The degradation products were identified by LC-MS, NMR, and by comparison with authentic samples. RESULTS: The pKa for the protonated piperazine nitrogen was estimated to be 7.04. The pH-rate profile is described by specific acid-, water-, and specific base-catalyzed pathways. The pH of maximum stability is in the range of 4 to 4.5 where water is the principal catalyst in the reaction. Buffer catalysis, primary salt effects and medium effects were observed. The proposed mechanism for acid catalyzed degradation is the rarely observed AAL1 which involves alkyl-nitrogen heterolysis. The driving force for the reaction appears to lie in the stability of the benzylic carbocation. The proposed mechanism for base catalyzed degradation is BAC2 which involves beta-lactam ring opening. The beta-lactam ring of DMP 777, a monolactam, appears to be as reactive as that in benzylpenicillin in the KOH controlled region where a similar mechanism of hydrolysis should be operative. A contributing factor to this increased reactivity may lie in the reduced basicity of the beta-lactam nitrogen making it a good leaving group. CONCLUSIONS: The degradation profile indicates that development of a solution dosage form of DMP 777 with adequate shelf-life stability at room temperature is feasible.  相似文献

Endogenous ceramide is produced by the action of acidic or neutral sphingomyelinases (SMase) in response to stimuli such as proinflammatory cytokines or other inducers of stress. Interleukin-1beta (IL-1beta) is known to stimulate ceramide formation in rat renal mesangial cells; however, the respective subtype of SMase and its regulation have not been investigated. We found that IL-1beta induced an increase in endogenous ceramide levels via the action of a neutral SMase but not an acidic SMase in rat mesangial cells. Cytokine-induced activation of neutral SMase was inhibited by stimulation of protein kinase C (PKC) by the phorbol ester TPA which caused a reduction of ceramide back to control levels. This inhibitory effect of TPA was reversed by the specific PKC-inhibitor Ro-318220. Long-term incubation (24 h) of mesangial cells with TPA, which downregulates PKC-alpha, -delta, and -epsilon isoenzymes, resulted in a recovery of IL-1beta-stimulated neutral SMase activity as well as ceramide formation. These data implicate an important modulatory function of PKC in ceramide production in IL-1beta-activated mesangial cells.  相似文献

Each abdominal neuromere of a Drosophila embryo contains about 60 glial cells [Kl?mbt C, Goodman CS (1991): Glia 4:205-213; Ito et al. (1995): Roux's Arch Dev Biol, 204:284-307]. Among these, the midline and longitudinal glia are described to some detail. The midline glia are located dorsally in the nerve cord ensheathing the two segmental commissures. They are required for the proper establishment of commissures. The longitudinal glia, the A and B glia, and the segment boundary cells (SBC) are covering the longitudinal connectives. The longitudinal glia prefigure longitudinal axon paths and appear capable of regulating the expression of neuronal antigens. In the following we summarize the knowledge on the function of these glial cells.  相似文献
