An efficient novel algorithm is introduced for ground wave propagation problems. First, ground wave propagation characteristics for a vertically polarized short electric dipole over a smooth spherical earth are reviewed, reducing the vector electromagnetic problem for the three-dimensional spherical geometry to an equivalent two-dimensional rectilinear scalar potential problem which is solved by spectral analysis and synthesis. Alternative evaluations of the spectral integral yield ray optical and normal mode solutions, which are conventionally referred to as the Norton and Wait formulations, respectively. Combining these formulations in an efficient manner yields a hybrid algorithm which is constructed so as to account adaptively for the characteristics of ground wave propagation in interference, intermediate and diffraction regions (including mixed paths) for various source and/or receiver heights. Numerical comparisons are made with reference results obtained via the parabolic equation (PE) method, in parametric ranges where PE is reliable; this permits assessment of the effectiveness of the hybrid approach. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

Disk-shaped heterogels were prepared by combining methyl methacrylate (MMA) and styrene (S) with ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDM) as a crosslinker agent in the presence of 2,2′-azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN). Swelling experiments were performed under chloroform vapor and the swollen gels are then allowed to dry under room temperature. Gravimetric technique was used to study drying processes. It is observed that two different regimes are present in the drying processes of these heterogels. Fickian diffusion model was used to determine desorption coefficients for each drying step in both regimes. Desorption coefficients, D d, of heterogels were found to be strongly correlated with the mixture composition of polymeric materials in the heterogel system for both regimes. Confined foaming of poly(ethylene-co-vinyl acetate-co-carbon monoxide) using carbon dioxide as a physical blowing agent in a mold with either permeable or impermeable boundaries has been explored as a strategy to control final foam dimensions and morphology. The results are discussed in terms of comparisons to free-foaming experiments conducted at the same pressure and temperature conditions following the same pressurization and depressurization paths. Foaming experiments were carried out at 30 and 40°C and 100, 200, and 300 bar followed by rapid depressurization of the foaming cell. Confined foaming led to smaller pores with more uniform distributions across the polymer cross-section. However, bulk foam densities of the foams generated under confinement were higher than those generated under the free-foaming mode. Surface characteristics and skin layer formation were altered by expansion against both the permeable and impermeable boundaries. Confined foaming promotes uniform pore distribution and overall dimensional uniformity and may impart surface texture but the trade-off is in the degree to which the bulk foam density can be lowered. 相似文献

The objective of this study is to assess the effectiveness of the educational environment supported by computer aided presentations at primary school. The effectiveness of the environment has been evaluated in terms of students’ learning and remembering what they have learnt. In the study, we have compared experimental group and control group in terms of learning and recalling what has been learned regarding the effect which computer aided learning environment imposes. Data have been collected through the control grouped pretest–final test model. During the experiment, we have prepared an achievement test, which explains behaviors the students should acquire. According to the findings obtained, a computer aided educational environment has been observed to be more effective than that of conventional education in terms of learning. However, in terms of the permanence of what has been learned, no meaningful difference between the educational environment supported by computer aided presentations and that of conventional education has come out. According to the results of the follow-up tests performed, even though students in the test group have forgotten more of what they have learnt, it has been concluded that students in both groups have forgotten on the same level. Consequently, it has been observed that though the educational environment supported by computer aided presentations has positive contributions to learning activity, it does not have effects on the permanence of what has been learnt. 相似文献

The presents preparation and characterization of different types of lignocellulosic fillers (pine wood sawdust/ walnut shell flour/ black rice husk powder) reinforced polypropylene composites were presented. The effect of MAPP as coupling agent (4wt%) on the physical and mechanical properties was also investigated. Polypropylene composites were prepared at different rates of filler/matrix (wt%) by using extrusion (for melt blending) and hot compression molding process. Maximum values of tensile and flexural strength were obtained as 26.1 and 43.4 MPa, respectively, whereas the elongation at break value was 4.11% at 10% pine wood sawdust reinforced PP. Tensile and flexural modulus of composites reached the maximum values as 3855 and 3633 MPa with the composite of 30% walnut shell flour reinforced PP. Morphological changes that take place in poly(?-caprolactone) upon exposure to carbon dioxide at high pressures have been explored as a function of pressure and temperature. SEM and DSC results point to a competition between CO2-modulated crystallization and pressure-induced phase separation which leads to unique morphologies. At 293 K, exposure to CO2 at pressures up to 45 MPa leads to recrystallization resulting in higher level of crystallinity and higher melting temperatures. Highest crystallinity levels along with distinct crystal morphology were observed after exposure to CO2 at 308 K and 21 MPa. At a higher pressure at this temperature (308 K/34 MPa) polymer undergoes melting, and foaming is achieved during depressurization prior to solidification. At 323 K, the polymer is found to display unique crystal morphology with concave crystal geometry as well as porous domains. The results are discussed in terms of the crystallization and phase separation paths that are followed during exposure to CO2 and the depressurization stages. 相似文献
