In this paper, we present a viscoelastic rod model that is suitable for fast and accurate dynamic simulations. It is based
on Cosserat’s geometrically exact theory of rods and is able to represent extension, shearing (‘stiff’ dof), bending and torsion (‘soft’ dof). For inner dissipation, a consistent damping potential proposed by Antman is chosen. We parametrise the rotational

Young children spend a substantial part of their waking time in preschools. It is therefore important to reduce the load of hazardous semivolatile organic compounds (SVOCs) in the preschools’ indoor environment. The presence and levels of five SVOC groups were evaluated (1) in a newly built preschool, (2) before and after renovation of a preschool, and (3) in a preschool where SVOC-containing articles were removed. The new building and the renovation were performed using construction materials that were approved with respect to content of restricted chemicals. SVOC substance groups were measured in indoor air and settled dust and included phthalates and alternative plasticizers, organophosphate esters (OPEs), brominated flame retardants, and bisphenols. The most abundant substance groups in both indoor air and dust were phthalates and alternative plasticizers and OPEs. SVOC concentrations were lower or of the same order of magnitude as those reported in comparable studies. The relative Cumulative Hazard Quotient (HQcum) was used to assess the effects of the different reduction measures on children's SVOC exposure from indoor air and dust in the preschools. HQcum values were low (1.0–6.1%) in all three preschools and decreased further after renovation and article substitution. The SVOCs concentrations decreased significantly more in the preschool renovated with the approved building materials than in the preschool where the SVOC-containing articles were removed. 相似文献

This paper presents a toolkit for supporting the execution of coarse-grain, parallel (distributed) applications under the MOSIX multicomputer operating system. These tools use standard UNIX System V process control and message-passing facilities, as well as the dynamic process migration mechanisms of MOSIX. The MPE tools can be used to modify sequential applications that were originally written for execution in a uniprocessor environment, to run efficiently in a distributed environment, consisting of several loosely coupled independent computers that communicate by messages. After presenting the MPE tools, the paper gives examples of several sequential algorithms that have been modified for execution in such a distributed multicomputer, as well as the resulting execution speed-ups that were obtained. 相似文献

The governing equations of the steady, incompressible, isothermal, laminar flow of a power‐law, shear‐thinning gel propellant in a converging injector were formulated. The equations were transformed to a ψ–ω system, then discretized and solved. A numerical algorithm was developed for the solution of the flowfield. A parametric investigation was conducted to evaluate the effect of the injector geometry and the flow rate on the velocity and viscosity fields, for various gel propellants. In comparison to a straight injector, a convergent one can produce additional decrease in the mean apparent viscosity of the fluid. The mean apparent viscosity decreases significantly with increasing the convergence angle of the injector. In general, increasing the gel flow rate results in a decrease of the mean apparent viscosity of the fluid. Increasing the gellant content of gel propellants results in an increase of the fluid viscosity that decreases when the gel flows through the injector. Gels of different gellant content that flow through the same geometry injector exhibit similar relative reduction in viscosity. 相似文献
