Effects of lithium perchlorate (LiClO4) on the crystallization behaviors of poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and polarized optical microscopy (POM) in PEO/LiClO4 system. DSC results indicate that there are nucleation effects of LiClO4 on the crystallization of PEO. But, on the other hand, the coordination of lithium ion with the oxygen ether atoms of PEO can obviously reduce the crystallinity and spherulite growth rate of PEO. This contrary effect of LiClO4 on the crystallization of PEO in PEO/LiClO4 complexes system was analyzed and discussed in detail. The Laurizen–Hoffman theory was used to describe the Li‐coordinated crystallization kinetics of PEO spherulite. It showed that the nucleation constant (Kg) and folding surface free energy (σe) decreased with increasing LiClO4 contents, and the energy necessary for the transport of segments across the liquid–solid interface (ΔE) increased on increasing the contents of LiClO4. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The field of plasmonics has become one of the most interesting and active research areas in nanotechnology, enabling numerous fundamental studies and applications. The ability to tailor the size, shape, and environment of metal nanostructures is the key component for controlling the plasmonic properties of individual or aggregated nanostructures. In this feature article, a category of chemically nanofabricated, unique free-standing one-dimensional (1D) plasmonic nanostructures has been summarized. The dispersible plasmonic nanostructures were obtained in high yield with control over gap size and feature size. This ability was exploited to tune the emerging plasmonic properties overcoming the difficulties of other methods to do so, leading to applications in analytical detection, biological sensing, and nanoelectronics. 相似文献

(Ti,Zr)B2 - (Zr,Ti)C ceramics were synthesized by reactive hot-pressing and solid solution coupling effect using ZrB2 and TiC powders as starting materials. Effects of sintering temperature on phase relations, microstructure and mechanical properties were reported. The equimolar ZrB2 and TiC reactants ensured a complete in situ reaction to form (Ti,Zr)B2 and (Zr,Ti)C solid solutions. The (Ti,Zr)B2 - (Zr,Ti)C composite sintered at 1750°C was fully densified, and exhibited a high hardness of 29.1 GPa due to fine-grain hardening and solid solution hardening. The optimized comprehensive mechanical properties such as a hardness of 27.9 GPa, a strength of 705 MPa and an indentation fracture toughness of 5.3 MPa m1/2 were achieved in (Ti,Zr)B2 - (Zr,Ti)C composites sintered at 1800°C for 1 hour. 相似文献
