A force modulation study on crystallization process in ferroelectric vinylidene fluoride and trifluoroethylene copolymer films

This paper introduces the Force Modulation technique to the study of crystallization process in ferroelectric vinylidene fluoride and trifluoroethylene copolymer films. Using this technique we have successfully visualized ferroelectric crystalline domains and observed that these ferroelectric domains grow out from amorphous phase, unite into strip-like structures, and finally congregate into a union. Force Modulation can weaken the influence of topography on imaging of ferroelectric domains, and reveal more details, which are difficult to be observed in topographical image.

偏高岭土及其对油井水泥性能的影响

综述了偏高岭土特性及其在水泥混凝土领域中的应用情况,初步研究了偏高岭土对油井水泥性能的影响。结果表明,偏高岭土能显著提高油井水泥的抗压强度,表现出很强的火山灰活性,完全可以作为新一代的油井水泥掺合料。     

方波扫描路径确定声源声功率误差特性分析

改进了矩形测量面方波扫描路径测量声功率的误差模型 ,以单极子、偶极子及四极子声源为例 ,给出了扫描方向、测量面离声源的距离及扫描线的密度的选取对理论误差的分布图形。分析结果表明 :对选定的测量面 ,在扫描线密度小的情况下 ,通过调整声源离测量面的距离 ,可以在声源近处找到一个最优点或较优点 ,使理论误差为零或很小 ;在绝大多数情况下 ,沿测量面长边扫描误差比沿短边扫描小。     

Training sequence design and channel estimation of OFDM-CDMA broadband wireless access networks with diversity techniques

In this paper, an OFDM-CDMA system employing various diversity schemes is considered for a possible candidate of broadband wireless access networks and broadcasting applications. With an emphasis on a preamble design for multi-channel separation, we address a channel estimation based on the time-domain windowing and its imperfectness in OFDM-based multiple-antenna transmission systems. By properly designing each preamble for multiple antennas to be orthogonal in the time domain, the channel estimation can be applied to the HIPERLAN/2 and IEEE 802.11a standards in the case of more than two transmit antennas. Also, the effect of diversity techniques on the performance of OFDM-CDMA based broadband wireless access networks is investigated and the maximum achievable diversity gain for a two-path Rayleigh fading environment is evaluated. Simulation results show that the OFDM-CDMA system applying a space-time-frequency diversity with a full-rate full diversity code can give the diversity of D=4 and D=8 for both multi-user cases of maximum user and half user capacities, respectively.     

Equal Strain Consolidation by Vertical Drains

This paper shows the development of a series of closed-form solutions of equal strain consolidation in the presence of a vertical drain with smear and well resistance. Using an approach that considers the effects of both the radial and vertical drainage in a fully coupled fashion, solutions are obtained for the excess pore pressure and the degree of consolidation in the compressible soil subjected to a step- or ramp-loading situation. The closed-form solutions in the present paper may be evaluated in an electronic spreadsheet on a standard personal computer.     

Electrotunable Non‐reciprocal Laser Emission from a Liquid‐Crystal Photonic Device

A liquid crystal (LC) photonic device with an anisotropic optical heterojunction structure has been fabricated. The device has a phase‐retarding nematic LC (NLC) layer sandwiched between two polymer cholesteric LC films with right‐handed helices of different pitches. Electrotunable non‐reciprocal light transmittance and unidirectional circularly polarized (CP) lasing emission have been successfully demonstrated for this device structure. Two left CP (LCP) lasing emission peaks are observed at the edges of the overlapping region between the two photonic bands in the structure and are shifted upon the application of a voltage. In contrast, a non‐reciprocal right CP (RCP) lasing emission peak emerges at one of the band edges and diminishes upon the application of a voltage. These phenomena are interpreted based on the selective reflection of RCP light and the reorientation of the NLC molecules by the application of a voltage.
