The capacity and the interference statistics of the sectors of the shaped W-CDMA cell are studied. A model of five cells is used to analyze the uplink. The cells are assumed to exist in rural zones. The capacity and the interference statistics of the cell are studied using a two-slope propagation model. In this paper, a time-domain noise-coupling technique based on the pulse width modulation is proposed. The time-domain quantization error is digitally extracted and shaped by an asynchronous digital filter. This digitally filtered quantization error is applied to the quantizer input to increase the modulator’s noise-shaping order. By using this technique in continuous-time sigma-delta modulators, the modulator’s shaping property is significantly enhanced. Comparative analytical calculations and simulation results are presented to estimate the performance of modulators employing the proposed quantizer. System-level simulation results reveal a (L + 2)th order noise-shaping capability of the proposed modulator while it employs only L analog integrators. The effects of main circuit non-idealities in the modulator’s performance are analytically investigated and confirmed by the simulation results.  相似文献

Long code Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum is a good choice for applications where security and antispoofing ability of a spread spectrum connection is concerned. Due to long period of spreading code, acquisition is a challenge for these systems because a trade‐off between detection probability and acquisition time must be made. For confronting this challenge, various algorithms were proposed in the literature but almost all of them focus on expediting the coarse acquisition. In this paper, we consider the efficient dual folding algorithm for coarse acquisition level and propose 3 methods for enhancing the fine acquisition level leading to faster execution of overall acquisition algorithm. The methods are based on estimations from coarse acquisition level that are not used in conventional algorithms for fine acquisition, ie, zero padding. Theoretical expressions of 2 main comparison criteria in acquisition algorithms, ie, detection probability and mean acquisition time, are derived for conventional zero padding and each of the proposed method. Besides, a coarse estimate of resource consumption is provided by the number of floating point operations for each algorithm to make a useful comparison. Considering these 3 parameters, in comparison, the proposed methods surpass zero padding in 1, 2, or all of the 3 aspects. Simulation agrees well with analytical results.  相似文献

The uplink capacity and the interference statistics (mean and variance) of the sectors of the cigar-shaped W-CDMA microcell are studied. A model with eighteen sectors is used to analyze the uplink. The microcells are assumed to exist in a long tunnel with at least nine base stations. The hybrid model of propagation is used in the calculations. The capacity and the interference statistics of the sectors are studied in terms of the most important parameters: sector radius, specific attenuation factor, antenna sidelobe levels, bend losses and the power control standard deviation error.  相似文献

To enable a relevance feedback paradigm to evolve itself by users’ feedback, a reinforcement learning method is proposed. The feature space of the medical images is partitioned into positive and negative hypercubes by the system. Each hypercube constitutes an individual in a genetic algorithm infrastructure. The rules take recombination and mutation operators to make new rules for better exploring the feature space. The effectiveness of the rules is checked by a scoring method by which the ineffective rules will be omitted gradually and the effective ones survive. Our experiments on a set of 10,004 images from the IRMA database show that the proposed approach can better describe the semantic content of images for image retrieval with respect to other existing approaches in the literature.  相似文献

In this article, an inverter based transconductor using double CMOS pair is proposed for implementation of a second order lowpass Gm?CC Filter. The proposed operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) and biquad filter are designed using standard 0.35???m CMOS technology. Simulation results demonstrate the central frequency tunability from 10?kHz to 2.8?MHz which is suitable for the wireless specifications of Bluetooth (650?kHz), CDMA 2000 (700?kHz) and Wideband CDMA (2.2?MHz) applications. The power consumption of the filter is 445?nW and 178???W at 10?kHz and 2.8?MHz from 3.3?V supply voltage, respectively. The active area occupied by the designed filter on the silicon is 215?×?720???m2. The proposed approach guarantees the upper bound on THD to be ?40?dB for 300?mVpp signal swing. Employing the double CMOS pair in the inverters causes PSRR to reach 68.6?dB which is higher than similar works.  相似文献

A new composite channel model is proposed for the performance analysis of shadowed fading channels. This model is represented as a mixture of generalized Gamma (GG) multipath fading and lognormal shadowing. GG distribution includes the Rayleigh, Nakagami, and Weibull as special cases; hence the presented model, which is referred to as GG‐L, is a generic model that covers many well‐known composite fading models, including the Rayleigh–lognormal (R‐L), Nakagami–lognormal (N‐L), and Weibull–lognormal (W‐L). The main drawback of the lognormal‐based composite models is that the composite probability density function (PDF) is not in closed form, thereby making the performance evaluation of communication links in these channels cumbersome. To bypass this problem, an approximation method is developed which makes it possible to derive a closed‐form, analytical expression for GG‐L composite distribution. The proposed method only needs the mean and the variance of the underlying lognormal distribution, and hence, bypasses the required complicated integration needed to calculate the PDF of the received signal envelope in GG‐L channel. Based on this method, the most statistical characteristics, such as cumulative density function (CDF) and moments of the GG‐L composite distribution, are derived and used for the performance analysis of a single receiver operating over GG‐L fading channel.
