Thermoset polyurethanes (PUs) were prepared from a polyol derived from castor oil, 4,4′-methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) and different trifunctional low-molecular-weight crosslinkers, biobased glycerol (Gly) and petroleum-derived trimethylolpropane (TMP). The synthesis was carried out in bulk and without catalyst via one-step polymerization varying the components equivalent weight ratio, Polyol:MDI:Gly and Polyol:MDI:TMP, respectively. The physicochemical, morphological, thermal, dynamic–mechanical, and mechanical properties of the PUs were determined. The success of the reaction between the polyol and MDI was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The dynamic–mechanical and the mechanical properties as well as hardness were determined and related to the concentration of the low-molecular-weight crosslinkers utilized (Gly or TMP). However, important differences were observed between the synthesized two series, due to phase separation produced during the curing reaction, which affected more the materials prepared from TMP. Scanning electron microscopy images and dynamic–mechanical results confirmed this difference, related to the reactivity of primary and secondary hydroxyls present in the crosslinkers. Thermogravimetric analysis also showed to be sensible to the different structure of the crosslinkers with TMP leading to more thermally stable samples. Finally, measurements of water contact angle indicated that the surfaces were mostly hydrophobic with minor differences between the samples. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. The aim of this research study was to optimise the process parameters of Alpaca wool hand‐knitted samples screen‐printing with Juglans regia natural dye and to set the optimal conditions regarding colour yield, colour fastness and colouristic properties of printed samples. An extensive preliminary examination of the Alpaca woollen yarn and hand‐knitted samples characteristics, the characteristics of suitable thickeners and the optimisation of the printing paste composition, was performed. A starch‐based thickener, British Gum, with a dry matter content of 4% was selected due to its rheological properties responding to properties of the Alpaca yarn and knitwear. It was determined that the fluidity increases while the viscosity and the elasticity decrease in acidic pH, so a pH of 4 was set for the thickener preparation. The thickener of lower viscosity and higher fluidity assures easier pressing of printing paste through the screen, giving uniform colour yield on the substrate, contributing to easier absorption of dyes into the fibre. A 45‐minute fixing process at 105°C by steaming delivered the best results of printing quality. Iron sulphate was used as the mordanting agent. The colour fastness to washing, dry and wet rubbing, and to light, was tested for samples with and without mordanting. The highest light and washing fastness were obtained with the iron sulphate mordanting agent printed in acid (pH 4) with paste containing 4% dry matter‐based thickener. The rubbing fastness was satisfactory for samples with iron sulphate printed with paste containing 4% dry matter thickener, fixed for 45 minutes, regardless of the pH.  相似文献

Fetal bovine serum (FBS) is an important factor in the culture of Trypanosoma cruzi, since this parasite obtains and metabolizes fatty acids (FAs) from the culture medium, and changes in FBS concentration reduce the degree of unsaturation of FAs in phosphoinositides. When T. cruzi epimastigotes were cultured with 5% instead of 10% FBS, and stearic acid was used as the substrate, ∆9 desaturase activity decreased by 50%. Apparent K m and V m values for stearic acid, determined from Lineaweaver–Burk plots, were 2 μM and 219 pmol/min/mg of protein, respectively. In studies of the requirement for reduced pyridine nucleotide, ∆9 desaturase activity reached a maximum with 8 μM NADH and then remained constant; the apparent K m and V m were 4.3 μM and 46.8 pmol/min/mg of protein, respectively. The effect of FBS was observed only for ∆9 desaturase activity; ∆12 desaturase activity was not affected. The results suggest that decreased FBS in culture medium is a signal that modulates ∆9 desaturase activity in T. cruzi epimastigotes.  相似文献

The mechanical and damping properties as well as the shape memory behavior of copolymers obtained by cationic copolymerization of tung oil with styrene with different stoichiometric ratios are presented and analyzed in this work. The glass transition temperatures are close to room temperature for all the copolymers, and generally increase with the content of styrene. A similar trend is observed for the modulus, which exhibits values from 4.89 MPa for the copolymer with 30 wt% styrene to 13.92 MPa for the copolymer with 70 wt% styrene. These hard elastomers present shape memory behavior with high recovery and fixity ratios, as well as high damping quality (damping factors 0.4 and 1.38 at 28.9 and 43.3 °C, for the tung oil homopolymer and the copolymer with 70 wt% styrene, respectively), opening possibilities for practical applications that require material response close to room temperature. The bioaccesibility of various minerals in infusions of yerba male (mate cocido) and preparations with Fe-fortified milk was assessed to determine the influence of the infusions on the potential bioavailability of intrinsic minerals and fortified Fe. The dialyzability (D) of iron, calcium, magnesium and zinc was evaluated, as indicator of bioaccesibility in milk samples fortified with ferrous sulfate (FS), ferric bisglicinate GF) and EDTANaFe. Dialyzability was also evaluated in mixtures of milk with mate cocido and in infusions cooked with Fe-fortified milk. In each case the effect of ascorbic acid (AA) in a ratio Fe: AA 1:4 was studied. In the mate cocido FeD was zero and increased to 15% with the addition of AA. The FeD in milk with SF, BGF and EDTANaFe (1.2, 1.0 and 27.4 respectively), increased with the addition of AA to 2.9, 3.5 and 24.8. The FeD in the mixture milk: mate cocido was 4.7%, 5.7% and 31.2% for SF, BGF and EDTANaFe respectively. With the addition of AA was 13.5%, 13.7% and 25.7%. In infusions cooked with SF fortified milk, the values were lower than those of the mixture. The CaD did not show significant changes in Fe fortified milk and its preparations with yerba mate, while the MgD and ZnD only showed a significant reduction in infusion cooked with Fe-fortified milk. The use of infusions of yerba mate does not provide significant amounts of minerals. However, its use in mixtures with milk will not adversely affect the availability of Fe in that matrix.  相似文献

Transition metal-modified lacunary Keggin heteropolycompounds [PW11O39M]5−, with M = Ni2+, Co2+, Cu2+, or Zn2+, were synthesized and characterized. These heteropolycompounds were used to prepare the carbon-supported catalysts. Both the heteropolycompounds and the carbon-supported catalysts showed FT-IR spectra with the characteristic bands of these compounds and provided an indirect measure of the interaction strength between M and the oxygen of the central tetrahedron group of the Keggin structure. The anion decomposition of the modified compounds takes place at equal or lower temperature than that of the bulk and supported parent lacunary [PW11O39]7− anion. The species present on the support surface may be highly dispersed as a non-crystalline form, as a result of the interaction with the support surface groups. The activity of the synthesized catalysts in isopropanol dehydration, reflecting their acidity, increases as the reduction temperature of the decomposition products of the heteropolycompounds decreases. It may be assumed that the generation of acid sites is a result of the interaction of hydrogen, donated by isopropanol during its decomposition, with the M cation, leading to M reduction and protons.  相似文献

The thermal and mechanical behavior of new natural polymeric composite materials after exposure to humid environments must be well known and understood in order to predict their performance in final applications. For this reason, composites made from unsaturated polyesters based on linseed oil and filled with wood flour were exposed to environments of different relative humidities and their final properties were measured. In general, the equilibrium moisture content increased as the wood flour percentage increased. Dynamic mechanical tests performed in temperature scan mode were carried out in order to monitor the changes resulting from moisture absorption on the main transition temperature of the matrix (Tα). The temperature of this transition decreased as the amount of absorbed water increased, but the effect was partially reversible by re‐drying the samples. The mechanical properties were also strongly affected by moisture. The flexural modulus and ultimate stress of the composites decreased after equilibration in humid environments. Uptake and metabolism of saturated (16∶0, 18∶0) and unsaturated [18∶1(n−9), 18∶2(n−6), 18∶3(n−3)] fatty acids by cultured epimastigotes ofTrypanosoma cruzi were studied. Between 17.5 and 33.5% of the total radioactivity of [1-14C]labeled fatty acids initially added to the culture medium was incorporated into the lipids ofT. cruzi and mostly choline and ethanolamine phospholipids. As demonstrated by argentation thin layer chromatography, gas liquid chromatography and ozonolysis of the fatty acids synthesized, exogenous palmitic acid was elongated to stearic acid, and the latter was desaturated to oleic acid and 18∶2 fatty acid. The 18∶2 fatty acid was tentatively identified as linoleic acid with the first bond in the Δ9 position and the second bond toward the terminal methyl end. Exogenous stearic acid was also desaturated to oleic and 18∶2 fatty acid, while oleic acid was only converted into 18∶2. All of the saturated and unsaturated fatty acids investigated were also converted to a small extent (2–4%) into polyunsaturated fatty acids. No radioactive aldehyde methyl ester fragments of less than nine carbon atoms were detected after ozonolysis of any of the fatty acids studied. These results demonstrate the existence of Δ9 and either Δ12 or Δ15 desaturases, or both, inT. cruzi and suggest that Δ6 desaturase or other desaturases of the animal type are likely absent in cultured forms of this organism.  相似文献
