ABSTRACT

The dissimilar welds between aluminium (Al) alloy, A6061-T6, and stainless steel, type 304, were fabricated by a friction stir welding (FSW) technique. The FSW tool was offset to Al side and the probe was inserted only into Al plate. The softening occurred in Al side due to the heat input during FSW, while the hardness increased by the post-ageing treatment. Tensile strength of dissimilar weld also increased about 8.5% by the post-ageing. The residual stresses were measured based on the cos α method. The residual stresses parallel to the weld line, σxr, were predominantly tensile, while those perpendicular to the weld line, σyr, were compressive. Post-ageing treatment had little effect on the residual stresses.  相似文献

Conjugative mating between the selenate-reducing bacterium Citrobacter sp. strain JSA and Escherichia coli S17-1 harboring the broad-host-range plasmid pKT230 or pKT240 (IncQ) allowed genetic transfer to strain JSA at a maximum frequency of 2.5×10(-5) (pKT230) and 5.1×10(-6) (pKT240) per recipient JSA cell. Kanamycin-resistant (selection marker of pKT230 and pKT240) transconjugants were routinely obtained with this method, and we confirmed that both vectors were also successfully transferred and replicated in strain JSA without alteration of the replicon. Furthermore, an electroporation method has also allowed transformation of JSA at a frequency of 10(-7) to 10(-6) transformants per μg vector DNA (per recipient cell), and PCR and hybridization analyses revealed that pKT230 and pKT240 are stably maintained in transformed JSA cells. These results indicated that both InQ plasmids can be used as vectors for gene transfer to selenate-reducing strain JSA. This is the first study to demonstrate an effective method for genetic transfer in a selenate-reducing Citrobacter bacterium and will aid in the elucidation of the selenium oxyanion reduction mechanism in this genus of environmental selenate-respiring isolates.  相似文献

Abstract— A novel liquid‐crystal alignment method, diamond‐like carbon and ion beam alignment (DLC/IB) technology, was announced at the 2001 SID Symposium. And since December 2001, a new‐generation ion‐beam machine has been placed into the manufacturing line of IDTech. DLC/IB technology is mainly used for medical displays, which require a monochrome high‐density and super‐uniform display. A post trip operational guidance system (PTOG) for BWR power plants was developed to support the operators in achieving safe plant shutdown after a scram. The objective of PTOG is to support the operators in collecting plant information, in diagnosing plant status and in deciding corrective actions. To achieve this objective, PTOG has three main functions, i.e., the diagnosis of plant subsystems performance, the identification of safety functions status and the dynamic synthesis of operating procedures. The main advantage of PTOG is that it provides operating procedures irrespective of the transient's initiating event and evolutional history. The results of verification and validation tests showed that PTOG was a useful, effective and trustworthy vehicle in coping with abnormal plant conditions.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to investigate storing and recalling performances of embedded patterns on associative memory. The associative memory is composed of quaternionic multistate Hopfield neural network. The state of a neuron in the network is described by three kinds of discretized phase with fixed amplitude. These phases are set to discrete values with arbitrary divide size. Hebbian rule and projection rule are used for storing patterns to the network. Recalling performance is evaluated through storing random patterns with changing the divide size of the phases in a neuron. Color images are also embedded and their noise tolerance is explored.  相似文献

We have developed a binocular open-view Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor for measuring time variation of binocular accommodation, vergence, pupil sizes (i.e., the binocular near triad), and monochromatic aberrations. The device measures these values16 times per second for up to 1 min. Our purpose is to introduce the new instrument. We have confirmed the accuracy of the device. Refractions for a 4 mm pupil were accurate across the range of measurements of model eyes and normal human eyes. We measured binocular dynamics of accommodation, vergence, and spherical aberrations.  相似文献

We constructed a wearable and flexible humidity sensor (thickness: 80 μm) in a sandwich configuration, with a hydrophilic poly-tetrafluoroethylene membrane placed between two gold deposited layers, using soft-MEMS techniques. The device was used to measure humidity level, via its electrical conductivity, using a multi-frequency LCR-meter at frequencies ranging from 100 Hz to 100 kHz. The device was calibrated at 100 Hz against moist air over the range of 30–85% RH, which includes normal humidity levels in the atmosphere and physiological air such as breath and evaporating sweat. The response sensitivity of the humidity device was extremely high, even for recovery to dry air; for example response time was less than 1 s for a conductivity shift between humid air of 80% RH and dry air of −60 °C dew point. The sensor performance was reproducible over multiple measurements, with a coefficient of variation of 1.77% (n = 5). The sensor was appropriate for physiological applications, and was successfully used in two non-invasive approaches: to monitor breath air at the mouth, and to measure sweat moisture from the nostrils.  相似文献

In order to provide practical and useful data for display design, border detection with various levels of surround luminance from 0.001 to 500 cd/m2 is investigated. The results indicated that luminance difference for border detection exhibits a monotonically increasing curve against the reference luminance on a logarithmic scale. To compare the luminance difference curves for different surround luminances, the results were converted to contrast threshold curves against the reference luminance that are U‐shaped on a logarithmic scale. These contrast thresholds, however, are higher than those of the grayscale standard display function curve. The causes of the difference between the contrast threshold curves of our study and the grayscale standard display function curve are the adaptation conditions and stimulus size, as well as the difference in criteria between the detection of a border and the detection of non‐uniformity. Finally, the necessary number of gradation levels for border detection under various surround luminances is calculated and found to be at least double the current number of levels (256).  相似文献

The home applications of distributed generations facilities such as photovoltaic and gas engine cogeneration systems are growing and many distributed generations are connected to a grid by a DC/AC inverter. The DC/AC inverter is controlled by a phase‐locked loop (PLL) in order to be synchronized with the power system frequency. However, the control scheme of stand‐alone operation uses voltage control, and the PLL is unnecessary. Therefore, it is hard to realize uninterrupted change between stand‐alone and grid‐connected operation. In this paper, we propose a virtual synchronous generator control scheme in order to use the same control scheme in stand‐alone and grid‐connected operation. We carried out experiments to demonstrate the control characteristics.  相似文献
