We present a new PLL based frequency synthesizer, in which we have replaced the conventional phase frequency detector and the dividers (programmable counters) with a sequential dual input phase accumulator (DIPA), consisting of a digital circuit employing adders, registers and a ladder. The main feature of the DIPA is that the two input frequencies are not required to be normalized (divided down) to the step frequency of the synthesizer. Instead, the two different high frequencies, that is the reference and the output frequency of the synthesizer, are applied directly. The DIPA samples and normalizes their phases at very high rates, calculates their phase difference, producing an output that consists of a dc component proportional to the phase difference and harmonics of the two input high frequencies. These harmonics are high frequencies and can easily be rejected by a wide bandwidth filter of the loop, without affecting the high convergence speed of the loop. Moreover, these harmonics do not generate spurs near the output frequency. The resolution of the DIPA based synthesizer depends only on the length of the digital word of the DIPA, and its convergence speed depends on the lower of the two input frequencies. The output of the DIPA is a linear function of the phase difference of the two input frequencies and its dynamic range exceeds the limit of ±2π that governs the conventional phase detectors. Thus, the proposed frequency synthesizer based on the DIPA has low phase noise, no spurs nearby the output frequency, high resolution and fast convergence rate. The use of attached sunspaces has become popular throughout Europe both for energy and for architectural reasons. This applies particularly in Southern Europe and in the Mediterranean, where sunspaces are habitable over long periods of the year. The danger of overheating during summer is, however, not to be underestimated, as the results of a long-term measurement of such a sunspace shows. The indoor climate conditions monitored seem to confirm that, without a sun-protection scheme, satisfactory comfort conditions are difficult to establish. Still, with appropriate ventilation the resulting cooling loads can be reduced to acceptable levels, which, when considering the heating period, can lead to an overall positive result. 相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of firing cycle on a dental porcelain microstructure in order to correlate microstructure changes with mechanical and thermal properties. A commercial low-fusing dental porcelain powder (Omega 900, Vita) was investigated for this purpose. The powder was treated at different temperatures in the range 750–1000 °C. The fired samples were characterized in terms of their morphology and microstructure, and their mechanical and thermal properties were evaluated. The results showed that firing temperature affects porcelain microstructure influencing significantly in this way both the mechanical properties and the thermal expansion coefficient of the fired objects. Firing at 800 °C led to a homogeneous structure. After treatment at this temperature, the leucite crystals exhibit their maximum concentration and they are well dispersed into the glassy phase. As a consequence the optimum mechanical strength and the maximum thermal expansion coefficient are observed in these samples. 相似文献

The prognosis in patients with primary brain tumors treated with surgery, radiotherapy and conventional chemotherapy remains poor. To improve outcome, combination high-dose chemotherapy (HDC) has been explored in children, but rarely in adults. This study was performed to determine the tolerability of three-drug combination high-dose thiotepa (T) and etoposide (E)-based regimens in pediatric and adult patients with high-risk or recurrent primary brain tumors. Thirty-one patients (13 children and 18 adults) with brain tumors were treated with high-dose chemotherapy: 19 with BCNU (B) and TE (BTE regimen), and 12 with carboplatin (C) and TE (CTE regimen). Patients received growth factors and hematopoietic support with marrow (n = 15), peripheral blood progenitor cells (PBPC) (n = 11) or both (n = 5). The 100 day toxic mortality rate was 3% (1/31). Grade III/IV toxicities included mucositis (58%), hepatitis (39%) and diarrhea (42%). Five patients had seizures and two had transient encephalopathy (23%). All patients had neutropenic fever and all pediatric patients required hyperalimentation. Median time to engraftment with absolute neutrophil count (ANC) >0.5 x 10(9)/l was 11 days (range 8-37 days). Time to ANC engraftment was significantly longer (P = 0.0001) in patients receiving marrow (median 14 days, range 10-37) than for PBPC (median 9.5 days, range 8-10). Platelet engraftment >50 x 10(9)/l was 24 days (range 14-53 days) in children. In adults, platelet engraftment >20 x 10(9)/l was 12 days (range 9-65 days). In 11 patients supported with PBPC, there was a significant inverse correlation between CD34+ dose and days to ANC (rho = -0.87, P = 0.009) and platelet engraftment (rho = -0.85, P = 0.005), with CD34+ dose predicting time to engraftment following HDC. Overall, 30% of evaluable patients (7/24) had a complete response (CR) (n = 3) or partial response (PR) (n = 4). Median time to tumor progression (TTP) was 7 months, with an overall median survival of 12 months. Enhancements to the software aids, used for the development of Programmable Logic Controller programs, are proposed in this work. A possible architecture of the software realizing these enhancements and the language constructs required for its configuration to a specific application are also presented. Based on this architecture, experimental software aids have been developed to demonstrate that it is quite feasible to provide the major services considered in this proposal. These services allow the program developer to emulate the dynamic operation of a specific programmable controller to alternative scenarios of input variations and relationships over a defined time horizon, and configure displays of graphics and timing diagrams which may assist him in following up and testing the program execution. 相似文献

This paper analyzes cost data pertinent to the municipal wastewater treatment plants (MWTP) in Greece. First, data have been collected with onsite visits and contain the land size necessary for a MWTP, the construction cost, and the operation and maintenance cost of existing wastewater treatment facilities. Second, they come from analytical budgeting of natural wastewater treatment system units. Twelve equations of the form ln?Yi = A0i+A1i?ln?Xi are estimated both with ordinary least squares (OLS) and fuzzy linear regression (FLR). The root mean square error and the mean absolute error are used as fitting measures for the comparison of the OLS with the fuzzy estimations. It is shown that the FLR did produce very similar estimates but slightly inferior to those of OLS in most of the cases for these particular datasets. 相似文献

This paper studies serial flow lines, in which each station consists of multiple identical reliable parallel machines. The parallel machines of different work stations are not necessarily identical, viz., station processing times are assumed to be exponentially distributed with non-identical mean service rates. Initially, a model consisting of two stations with multiple parallel machines and an intermediate buffer is solved analytically, by developing a recursive algorithm that generates the transition matrix for any value of the intermediate buffer capacity. This model is used as a decomposition block for solving larger lines. More specifically, the decomposition block is solved via exact Markovian analysis and then the decomposition equations and an algorithm that simultaneously solves them are derived in order to evaluate the performance measures of large production systems with multiple parallel-machine stations. Numerical results are provided for large production lines with up to 1000 workstations. These results are compared against simulation and the average percentage error is found to be very small. 相似文献

Inverted base pavements are flexible pavement structures built by placing a top quality compacted granular aggregate base between a rigid cement-treated base and a thin-asphalt surface layer. The proximity of the granular base to the load makes its behaviour critical to the pavement response. Three-dimensional finite-element simulations are conducted to assess the mechanical performance of different inverted base pavement structures, with emphasis placed on pavements that feature thin-asphalt surface layers. A nonlinear constitutive model captures the anisotropic stress-dependent stiffness of the granular base. Results show that the stress distribution within inverted base pavements is markedly different from that of conventional pavements due to the stiffness contrast between successive layers. Thin-asphalt layers deform more uniformly and experience lower tension than thick layers. However, in the presence of combined shear and vertical contact loads, the benefits of a membrane response in thin asphalt concrete layers may be overwhelmed by the increased tensile strain at the load edge. The transition from beam to membrane asphalt response depends on the relative stiffness between the asphalt layer and the aggregate base. In most cases, the transition takes place at an asphalt layer thickness between 25 mm and 50 mm. 相似文献
