Essential rosemary oil protects testicular cells against DNA-damaging effects of H2O2 and DMNQ

Rosemary oil (RO) is popular in the Mediterranean region as a culinary additive which has the ability to protect delicate organs such as liver, brain and heart. We examined the effect of RO consumption on resistance of rat testicular cells (TCs) against DNA-damaging effects of the oxidative agents H₂O₂ and DMNQ and on the activity of the antioxidant enzymes glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) and superoxide dismutase (SOD). DNA lesions were detected by conventional and modified comet assay and the activities of GSH-Px and SOD were measured spectrophotometrically. Since TCs represent a mixture of haploid, diploid and tetraploid cells, we used flow cytometry for their differentiation and calculation of DNA-damaging effects of H₂O₂ and DMNQ in cells of different ploidy. The results showed that the oxidative DNA lesions were significantly reduced in TCs from rats administered RO; however, the activity of antioxidant enzymes did not differ in TCs from control and RO-supplemented rats.     

利用酵母菌处理木糖厂生产废水营养条件研究

利用酵母菌处理木糖厂生产废水既能回收菌体又能去除废水中部分COD,是一种处理废水经济有效的方法。但废水COD浓度高,其它营养物相对不足,酵母菌生长缓慢,影响废水的处理效率。通过双质量指标的正交实验探索了利用酵母菌处理废水的氮源、磷源和酵母膏三种营养物质的最佳加入量。结果表明最佳营养条件加入量为：0．3％的尿素＋0．4％的磷酸盐＋0．3％的酵母膏,此条件下的最优工程平均为μCOD=48.1,μ菌＝18．8,对于质量指标1和质量指标2试验真值的95％置信区间分别为（47．2,49）和（18．2,19．4）。     

基于Radon方向投影特征的文物真伪鉴别方法

基于模板比较的文物识别技术可应用于对所追回的被盗文物进行真伪鉴定以及海关文物稽查等领域。针对有细微差异的形似物体的比较提出了用Radon变换来提取能保留足够识别信息的方向投影特征 ,并用小波描述算子对该特征向量进行压缩。此种算法不影响鉴别效果 ,且具有较高的鉴别率。     

First genetically verified occurrence of Ligula pavlovskii outside its native range and characteristics of its infection in Neogobius fluviatilis

In this study, we provide the first genetically verified distribution record beyond its native range of Ligula pavlovskii, a high-impact endoparasite of Ponto-Caspian gobies. According to parasitological surveys, ligulosis was detected for the first time in monkey goby individuals collected from Lake Balaton in 2004, 34 years after the first record of monkey goby in the lake. During a Lake Balaton survey in 2018, we detected tapeworms in 44.4% of the sampled monkey gobies. This prevalence is about two to ten times higher than it was reported from within the native range of the fish hosts. The same survey revealed an uneven spatial distribution of the ligulosis in the monkey gobies inhabiting different shoreline sections of the lake. We assume that the occurrence and recent distribution data of this high-impact endoparasite may provide useful information for potential biocontrol measures of invasive Ponto-Caspian gobies in the future.     

DMA thermal analysis of different parts of potato tuber

Dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) was applied to three potato tissues (‘cortex’, ‘pith’, and ‘side’ surface) of two cultivars (more waxy ‘Nicola’ and more mealy ‘Saturna’) in temperature scans in the range 30–90 °C and constant air humidity of 90%. The obtained scans indicate peaks in both storage and loss module of elasticity (SM and LM, respectively) at temperatures higher than 70 °C – so called ‘starch’ peak (SP) – as was observed previously. The peak value increase with increasing potato dry matter (DM) content, below DM content approximately 14% no SP is observed (‘Nicola pith’). Slope analysis of the basic parameters: SM, LM, and loss tangent (LT) was performed and further characteristic points on the temperature plots were found: (i) in temperature range A (30–40 °C) maximum of SM and LM and minimum of LT, (ii) in temperature range B (40–50 °C) minimum of SM and LM slopes corresponding to point of inflection on SM-T and LM-T plots, (iii) at about 50 °C, big peak in LT in side tissue only, (iv) at about 70 °C just prior the ‘starch’ peak, big peak in LT that is more marked in ‘pith’; this peak denoted as ‘I’ influenced the ‘starch’ peak ‘II’. It was found that both cultivar and part of the tuber influences the DMA temperature plots.     

Hierarchically Structured Surfaces Prepared by Phase Separation: Tissue Mimicking Culture Substrate

The pseudo 3D hierarchical structure mimicking in vivo microenvironment was prepared by phase separation on tissue culture plastic. For surface treatment, time-sequenced dosing of the solvent mixture with various concentrations of polymer component was used. The experiments showed that hierarchically structured surfaces with macro, meso and micro pores can be prepared with multi-step phase separation processes. Changes in polystyrene surface topography were characterized by atomic force microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and contact profilometry. The cell proliferation and changes in cell morphology were tested on the prepared structured surfaces. Four types of cell lines were used for the determination of impact of the 3D architecture on the cell behavior, namely the mouse embryonic fibroblast, human lung carcinoma, primary human keratinocyte and mouse embryonic stem cells. The increase of proliferation of embryonic stem cells and mouse fibroblasts was the most remarkable. Moreover, the embryonic stem cells express different morphology when cultured on the structured surface. The acquired findings expand the current state of knowledge in the field of cell behavior on structured surfaces and bring new technological procedures leading to their preparation without the use of problematic temporary templates or additives.     

一种用于新型非致冷红外焦平面阵列读出电路的基准电流源

设计了一种用于新型非制冷红外焦平面阵列读出电路的低温漂、无电阻基准电流源。首先通过二阶补偿的无电阻带 隙基准电路得到基准电压$V_{_{REF}}$,然后将其接到一个NMOS输出管上;通过调节$V_{_{REF}}$使得该输出管工作在零温 漂区,最终产生一个与温度无关的基准电流$I_{_{REF}}$。在CSMC 0.5$\upmu$m CMOS工艺条件下,采用spectre软件进行了模拟验证。 测试结果表明,在0℃ $\sim$ 120℃的温度变化范围内,输出电流的波动小于4$\upmu$A;当电源电压为3.3V时,整个电路的功 耗仅为0.94mW。
