Nonlinear Stress-Strain Relationship of Soil Reinforced with Flexible Geofibers

A nonlinear stress-strain relationship of soil reinforced with flexible geofibers under static loading is derived based on a nonlinear elastic stress-strain relationship of soil and a linear elastic stress-strain relationship of geofibers in the paper. This investigation includes the following aspects: First, the homogenization technique is introduced to find the volume average stress tensor and volume average strain tensor and further an elastic incremental stress-strain relation is introduced to describe deviatoric shear stress-axial strain relationship of equivalent homogeneous geofiber-reinforced soil. Second, the relation of geofiber numbers, content, mechanical behavior, distribution, and geometrical features to shear modulus of geofiber-reinforced soil is expressed and assessed by employing an elastic energy method. Third, the deviatoric shear stress and axial strain curves of geofiber-reinforced soil are calibrated by laboratory testing data of geofiber reinforced soil samples. Finally, the theoretical computational curves of geofiber reinforced soil are compared with the curves calibrated by testing data of geofiber reinforced soil. The model prediction has a good agreement with experimental results.

Syngas production via combined oxy-CO2 reforming of methane over Gd2O3-modified Ni/SiO2 catalysts in a fluidized-bed reactor

In this research, Ni/SiO₂ catalyst was modified with different amount of Gd₂O₃ and characterized with temperature-programmed desorption of CO₂ (CO₂-TPD) and NH₃ (NH₃-TPD), temperature-programmed reduction with H₂ (H₂-TPR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). It was found that Gd₂O₃-modified Ni/SiO₂ catalysts possessed higher CO₂ adsorption and activation ability due to the formation of surface carbonate species. H₂-TPR and XRD characterizations found that the strong interaction among nickel, Gd₂O₃ and SiO₂ took place, which improved the dispersion of Ni. Gd₂O₃-modified Ni/SiO₂ catalysts exhibited higher activity and stability for the combined oxy-CO₂ reforming of methane in fluidized-bed reactor. The H₂/CO ratio in produced syngas could be controlled via controlling reaction temperature and CO₂/O₂ ratio in feed.     

CO毒化AB5型合金分形特征研究

研究了三种贮氢合金 L a Ni5、L a Ni4 .7Al0 .3、Ml Ni4 .5Al0 .5被 10 0× 10 - 6 CO毒化后的分形特征 ,求出这三种合金在含 10 0× 10 - 6 CO的氢中循环 ,分维分别为 0 .2 5 4 7、0 .170 9、0 .0 72 5。可以较好的解释合金被毒化的宏观现象。

A high-efficiency CMOS +22-dBm linear power amplifier

Modern wireless communication systems require power amplifiers with high efficiency and high linearity. CMOS is the technology of choice for complete systems on a chip due to its lower costs and high integration levels. However, it has always been difficult to integrate high-efficiency power amplifiers in CMOS. In this paper, we present a new class of operation (parallel A&B) for power amplifiers that improves both their dynamic range and power efficiency. A prototype design of the new amplifier was fabricated in a 0.18-/spl mu/m CMOS technology. Measurement results show a PAE that is over 44% and the measured output power is +22 dBm. In comparison to a normal class A amplifier, this new design increases the 1-dB compression point (P1dB) by over 3 dB and reduces dc power consumption by over 50% within the linear operating range.
