Chemically prepared polyaniline is tested for its supercapacitive behaviour in an aqueous electrolyte of 1.0 M H2SO4. In order to improve the cycleability of the polyaniline electrode, it is made into a composite with Nafion. This composite electrode shows improved cycleability and higher specific capacitance compared with a pure polyaniline electrode. It is therefore used as a matrix for the electrochemical deposition of hydrous RuO2. The resulting ternary composite electrode has a high specific capacitance of 475 F g−1 at 100 mV s−1 and 375 F g−1 at 1000 mV s−1 in the voltage range of −0.2 to 0.8 V versus Ag/AgCl. All three types of electrode are characterized by cyclic voltammetry and impedance anaylsis.  相似文献

Performance improvement of direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs) was achieved via an anodic treatment technique. Previously, anodic treatment was performed using sulfuric acid as acidic media, but various organic acids including formic, acetic, oxalic, and citric acids were employed in this study to avoid the use of toxic sulfuric acid. By replacing sulfuric acid to organic acids, a potential damage to catalyst layers and other components such as polymer electrolyte membrane and bipolar plates are expected to be minimized. The anodic treatment was performed by applying 0.7 V (vs. reversible hydrogen electrode) at the anode of DMFCs flowing the organic acid solutions for 30min. After the anodic treatment, peak power densities of DMFCs were increased by +7, +32, +23, and ?2.6% when formic, acetic, oxalic, and citric acid solutions were employed, respectively. The enhanced catalytic activity of the DMFCs in the acetic and oxalic acid solutions was confirmed by analyzing electrochemical impedance spectroscopy data.  相似文献

The fruits of the mulberry tree (Morus alba L.), known as white mulberry, have been consumed in various forms, including tea, beverages, and desserts, worldwide. As part of an ongoing study to discover bioactive compounds from M. alba fruits, the anti-inflammatory effect of compounds from M. alba were evaluated in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated mouse RAW 264.7 macrophages. Phytochemical analysis of the ethanol extract of the M. alba fruits led to the isolation of 22 compounds. Among the isolated compounds, to the best of our knowledge, compounds 1, 3, 5, 7, 11, 12, and 14–22 were identified from M. alba fruits for the first time in this study. Inhibitory effects of 22 compounds on the production of the nitric oxide (NO) known as a proinflammatory mediator in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages were evaluated using NO assays. Western blot analysis was performed to evaluate the anti-inflammatory effects of cyclo(L-Pro-L-Val) (5). We evaluated whether the anti-inflammatory effects of cyclo(L-Pro-L-Val) (5) following LPS stimulation in RAW 264.7 macrophages occurred because of phosphorylation of IκB kinase alpha (IKKα), IκB kinase beta (IKKβ), inhibitor of kappa B alpha (IκBα), nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) and activations of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2). Cyclo(L-Pro-L-Val) (5) significantly suppressed phosphorylations of IKKα, IKKβ, IκBα, and NF-κB and activations of iNOS and COX-2 in a concentration-dependent manner. Taken together, these results indicate that cyclo(L-Pro-L-Val) (5) can be considered a potential therapeutic agent for the treatment of inflammation-associated disorders.  相似文献

We introduce a microscope system using a solid immersion lens (SIL) to image Blu-ray disc samples without removing the protective cover layer. The aberration caused by the cover layer is minimized with a truncated SIL. A subsurface imaging simulation is achieved by using the rigorous coupled wave theory, partial coherence, vector diffraction, and the Babinet principle. Simulated results are compared with experimental images and atomic force microscopy measurements.  相似文献

We investigated the flow and heat transfer characteristics in a Twisted elliptic tube (TET). The effects of geometry parameters such as the aspect ratio and number of rotations in the TET were analyzed comparatively using three-dimensional (3-D) numerical simulation. We also solved numerically the conservation equations of continuity, momentum, and energy in the TET. Fully developed flow in the TET was modeled using the realizable k-ε turbulence model and steady incompressible Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations. The simulation was performed for Reynolds numbers of 100, 1000 and 10000. The pressure drop and the heat transfer of the TET were assessed in terms of the Darcy friction factor and Colburn j-factor, and overall performance was evaluated using the area and volume goodness factors.

This is an investigative paper which reports the results of comparisons of two numerical techniques for the solution of the Burton Cabrera and Frank (BCF) equation for the growth on crystal surfaces under steady state conditions. A successive over‐relaxation (SOR) scheme for the equivalent finite difference equation gives rapid convergence to the static solution. It is known that a suitable choice of scattering parameters in a transmission line matrix (TLM) network analogue of the Laplace equation yields ultra‐fast convergence. The results of numerical experiments which are reported here suggests that a similar situation also applies to the solution of the Poisson equation with shunt losses (the BCF equation), although the choice of optimum conditions appears to be different for different spatial positions within the solution space.
