SPIDER, the ion source test bed in the ITER neutral beam test facility, is under construction and its operation is expected to start in 2014. Control and data acquisition for SPIDER are undergoing final design. SPIDER CODAS, as the control and data acquisition system is referred to, is requested to manage 25 plant units, to acquire 1000 analogue signals with sampling rates ranging from a few S/s to 10 MS/s, to acquire images with up to 100 frames per second, to operate with long pulses lasting up to 1 h, and to sustain 200 MB/s data throughput into the data archive with an annual data storage amount of up to 50 TB. SPIDER CODAS software architecture integrates three open-source software frameworks each addressing specific system requirements. Slow control exploits the synergy among EPICS and Siemens S7 programmable controllers. Data handling is by MDSplus a data-centric framework that is geared towards the collection and organization of scientific data. Diagnostics based on imaging drive the design of data throughput and archive size. Fast control is implemented by using MARTe, a data-driven, object-oriented, real-time environment. The paper will describe in detail the progress of the system hardware and software architecture and will show how the software frameworks interact to provide the functions requested by SPIDER CODAS. The paper will focus on how the performance requirements can be met with the described SPIDER CODAS architecture, describing the progress achieved by carrying out prototyping activities. 相似文献

The depilatory activity of keratinolytic bacteria was investigated. Three keratinolytic bacteria isolated from feather waste were tested for their ability to grow in mineral medium containing bovine hair as sole carbon, nitrogen and energy source. The strains kr2, kr6 and kr10 grew well on bovine hair, producing proteolytic activity as judged by assay with azokeratin as substrate. The proteolytic enzymes from all three strains showed similar pH and temperature optima. Strain kr2 showed mainly serine‐type protease activity, whereas kr6 and kr10 enzymes showed metalloprotease characteristics. The culture supernatants were used as crude enzyme preparations for depilatory studies on bovine pelts. All three strains were efficacious in promoting de‐hairing. Microscopic analysis revealed that the epidermis was completely removed and the absence of hair in follicles was observed. Proteases of keratinolytic bacteria were efficient in promoting depilation of bovine pelts. Enzymatic de‐hairing represents a suitable alternative to the conventional tannery process, with the benefit of avoiding environmental pollution. Copyright © 2003 Society of Chemical Industry 相似文献

Sarcopenia is a disease that becomes more prevalent as the population ages, since it is directly linked to the process of senility, which courses with muscle atrophy and loss of muscle strength. Over time, sarcopenia is linked to obesity, being known as sarcopenic obesity, and leads to other metabolic changes. At the molecular level, organokines act on different tissues and can improve or harm sarcopenia. It all depends on their production process, which is associated with factors such as physical exercise, the aging process, and metabolic diseases. Because of the seriousness of these repercussions, the aim of this literature review is to conduct a review on the relationship between organokines, sarcopenia, diabetes, and other metabolic repercussions, as well the role of physical exercise. To build this review, PubMed-Medline, Embase, and COCHRANE databases were searched, and only studies written in English were included. It was observed that myokines, adipokines, hepatokines, and osteokines had direct impacts on the pathophysiology of sarcopenia and its metabolic repercussions. Therefore, knowing how organokines act is very important to know their impacts on age, disease prevention, and how they can be related to the prevention of muscle loss. 相似文献

Aldehydes, particularly acetaldehyde, are carcinogenic molecules and their concentrations in foodstuffs should be controlled to avoid upper aerodigestive tract (UADT) and liver cancers. Highly reactive, acetaldehyde forms DNA and protein adducts, impairing physiological functions and leading to the development of pathological conditions. The consumption of aged beer, outside of the ethanol metabolism, exposes habitual drinkers to this carcinogen, whose concentrations can be over-increased due to post-brewing chemical and biochemical reactions. Storage-related changes are a challenge faced by the brewing industry, impacting volatile compound formation and triggering flavor instability. Aldehydes are among the volatile compounds formed during beer aging, recognized as off-flavor compounds. To track and understand aldehyde formation through multiple pathways during beer storage, consequent changes in flavor but particularly quality losses and harmful compound formation, this systematic review reunited data on volatile compound profiles through gas chromatography analyses from 2011 to 2021. Conditions to avoid flavor instability and successful methods for reducing beer staling, and consequent acetaldehyde accumulation, were raised by exploring the dynamic conversion between free and bound-state aldehydes. Future research should focus on implementing sensory analyses to investigate whether adding aldehyde-binding agents, e.g., cysteine and bisulfite, would contribute to consumer acceptance, restore beer flavor, and minimize acetaldehyde-related health damage. 相似文献

Hydrolysis of protein solid wastes from tanneries to yield protein meal for animal nutrition has been performed in a pilot assembly designed to process 400 kg h?1 of disposal material under optimum energy consumption and product yield conditions. Evaluation of the significance of amino acid degradation caused by the process, in relation to the product cost and quality in animal nutrition, was the purpose. A nutrition bioassay was carried out to study the incidence of dietary substitution of the above protein meal for soybean meal on growth performance by early weaned piglets. The results show that degradation of serine, proline, arginine and threonine occurs during collagen hydrolysis, and that only the threonine concentration in the product falls below the dietary requirement. However, integration of protein meal diets with the necessary amino acid content may be accomplished cheaply. Compared with other vegetable and animal commercial protein meals, the cost of the product obtained from tanned hides appears competitive. Processing of other tannery disposal material is not recommended, due to the low protein content of the starting material. 相似文献

Maize drying is an important process, especially for storage and conservation. For this study, the experimental stage was carried out using a forced convection dryer with air heated at different temperature conditions (306.05–441.85 K) and flow (0.13–0.256 m3/hr), totalizing 15 drying curves. Then the performances of the classic drying kinetics methodology and the approach proposed in this paper, in which the increase in moisture content of the product with time was represented combining exponential models and neural networks based on wavelets, were compared. Good performance was obtained in predictions using the proposed approach. One of the main differentials of the methodology adopted was the obtainment of a model that has a global predictive capacity, within the range of tested operating conditions, which can be used in predicting drying curves for different operating conditions.
Practical applications
The drying process is also one of the most widely used methods for preserving food, and has the advantage of reducing the costs of storage and transport because of the low volume and weight of the end product. During the last years, this topic has attracted a broad industrial interest, resulting in many research studies investigating the drying process. Usually, with regard to the classic approach for modeling of the drying process, the kinetics of drying curves obtained in different operating conditions is affected separately, that is, the parameters are estimated independently, resulting in different regression problems. With the classical approach, in general, it is not possible to obtain a comprehensive prediction model with regards to operating conditions. We have proposed an alternative modeling method. Aiming to obtain a modeling tool with an overall predictive ability, an approach for drying kinetics prediction that combines exponential models and neural networks was proposed. The world production of dates has more than doubled over the last two decades. Presently, the industrial sorting of dates is a difficult operation, affected by a high level of losses. As a consequence, the objective of this article is to study the variety discrimination capabilities of Fourier Transform‐Near Infrared (FT‐NIR) reflectance spectroscopy for post‐harvest sorting purposes. The same methodology was tested on six commercial date varieties named Estamaran, Kabkab, Mazafati, Piarom, Deglet nour and Zahedi. For each cultivar, 100 fruits were analysed using the FT‐NIR spectrometer, subsequently characterised by destructive measurements. A multivariate analysis of the FT‐NIR spectra appears a feasible tool for cultivar discrimination and even to estimate the soluble solid content (SSC) and dry matter (DM) of dates at their optimal harvesting conditions. This paper describes the models of a wind power system, such as the turbine, generator, power electronics converters and controllers, with the aim to control the generation of wind power in order to maximize the generated power with the lowest possible impact in the grid voltage and frequency during normal operation and under the occurrence of faults. The presented work considers a wind power system equipped with the doubly-fed induction generator and a vector-controlled converter connected between the rotor and the grid. The paper presents comparative results between proportional-integral controllers and neural networks based controllers, showing that better dynamic characteristics can be obtained using neural networks based controllers. 相似文献
