Errors in the measurement of the steady-state flow of heat at the surface of a body

Molybdenum-rhenium alloy thermocouples

Conclusions As a result of these investigations a technology was developed for manufacturing thermoelectric wire from molybdenum and rhenium ingots. An optimum content of rhenium in molybdenum was determined (MR-20, MR-40 and MR-50) for the manufacture of thermocouples with the best thermoelectrical and mechanical characteristics: MR-20/50 and MR-20/40. It has been shown that molybdenum-rhenium alloy thermocouples can be used for measuring temperature in carbon-containing media (in direct contact with graphite) for a limited time which does exceed 1–2 h at 1500C.     

Investigation of the resistance of steel to atmospheric corrosion and hydrogen charging in various climatic zones in relation to the quality of protective paint coatings

The susceptibility of low-carbon steel to hydrogen charging associated with atmospheric corrosion in arctic, subtropical, and moderate-continental climatic conditions was studied. It was established that atmospheric corrosion leads to intense hydrogen charging of unprotected specimens. Lacquer-paint coatings offer substantial protection against hydrogen charging and thereby prevent reduction in the resistance of steel to plastic deformation.
