The performance of an optimization tool is largely determined by the efficiency of the search algorithms used in the process as well as the proper handling of complex constraints. From the implementation point of view, an important part of task ensuring an efficient algorithm to work to its best capability is to handle the boundary constraints properly and effectively. As most studies in the literature have focused on the development of algorithms and performance evaluation and comparison of optimization algorithms, this crucial step has not been explored very well, and consequently only limited studies have been carried out in this field. This paper intends to propose a simple and yet efficient evolutionary scheme for handling boundary constraints. The simplicity of this approach means that the proposed scheme is very easy to implement and thus can be suitable for many applications. We demonstrate this approach with an efficient algorithm, differential evolution, and we also compare it with other boundary constraint handling approaches for a wide set of benchmark problems. Based on statistical parameters and especially mean values, the results obtained by the evolutionary scheme are better than the best known solutions obtained by the existing methods.  相似文献

Because failures in lead-free solder joints occur at locations other than the most highly shear-strained regions, reliability prediction is challenging. To gain physical understanding of this phenomenon, physically based understanding of how elastic and plastic deformation anisotropy affect microstructural evolution during thermomechanical cycling is necessary. Upon solidification, SAC305 (Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu) solder joints are usually single or tricrystals. The evolution of microstructures and properties is characterized statistically using optical and orientation imaging microscopy. In situ synchrotron x-ray measurements during thermal cycling are used to examine how crystal orientation and thermal cycling history change strain history. Extensive characterization of a low-stress plastic ball grid array (PBGA) package design at different stages of cycling history is compared with preliminary experiments using higher-stress package designs. With time and thermal history, microstructural evolution occurs mostly from continuous recrystallization and particle coarsening that is unique to each joint, because of the specific interaction between local thermal and displacement boundary conditions and the strong anisotropic elastic, plastic, expansion, and diffusional properties of Sn crystals. The rate of development of recrystallized microstructures is a strong function of strain and aging. Cracks form at recrystallized (random) boundaries, and then percolate through recrystallized regions. Complications arising from electromigration and corrosion are also considered.  相似文献

This paper describes two novel algorithms based on the time-modulo reconstruction method intended for detection of the parametric faults in analogue-to-digital converters (ADC). In both algorithms, a pulse signal, in its slightly adapted form to allow sufficient time for converter settling, is taken as the test stimulus relieving the burden placed on the accuracy requirement of the excitation source. Instead of calculating the accurate conventional dynamic and static parameters, a signature result is obtained through the analysis of the output data in the time domain. The basic concept of the algorithms is the evaluation on the performance of ADCs by the comparison of the similarity of the output waveforms. The multi-site test is expensive for traditional specification-based tests of ADCs, as high quality analogue data generators are required. Based on these two algorithms, this paper proposes a solution for this problem. The objective of the test scheme is not to completely replace traditional specification-based tests, but to provide a reliable method for early identification of excessive parameter variations in production test that allows quickly discarding of most of the faulty circuits before performing a conventional test. The efficiency of the methods is validated on an industrial 12-bit pipelined ADC both in simulations and in measurements.  相似文献

Although much has been written about TQM in SMEs, little attention has been paid to the role of external consultant in the successful implementation of a TQM program in this kind of firms. Sometimes there are some candidates and companies have to select the best one. In general, many factors affect this problem which adheres to uncertain and imprecise data, and usually several people from different functional areas of the company are involved in this process. This study aims to improve the quality of decision in this area. In this paper a systematic decision process for selecting external consultant is proposed. The proposed method is based on TOPSIS method in fuzzy environment. Decision criteria are obtained from the nominal group technique (NGT). Additionally, a real case study is presented to illustrate the application of the proposed method.  相似文献

A multi-objective optimal phasor measurement unit placement model using integer linear programming is presented in this article. The proposed model simultaneously optimizes two objectives, i.e., minimization of phasor measurement unit numbers and maximization of measurement redundancy. To calculate the redundancy criteria, the single-line outage and the phasor measurement unit loss are considered simultaneously. A linear formulation is presented for both objective functions. Also herein, to address conflicting attributes and identify Pareto optimal solutions of the multi-objective optimal phasor measurement unit placement problem, a new multi-objective mathematical programming method is proposed. Finally, a new index, i.e., minimum distance to utopia point, is implemented to select the most preferred solution among the available Pareto front based options on the goal to achieve judicious decision makers. Two test systems, i.e., a modified 9-bus and an IEEE 118-bus test systems, are used to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed framework.  相似文献

Considering the deterioration of steel properties by temperature increase and the importance of the influence of connection behavior on the behavior of steel structures, we find that the exact understanding of the behavior of a specific steel connection in fire as well as the information about the effect of fire on the principal constitutive characteristics of the connection is necessary for safe design against fire. Thus, in this paper, the behavior of welded angle connections is studied at elevated temperatures using the abaqus finite element software. Steel members and connection components are considered to behave nonlinearly; the degradation of steel properties with increasing temperature is considered according to EC3, BS5950 recommendations. The results of finite element and experimental tests conducted on welded angle connections are compared, and the obtained failure modes and moment–rotation–temperature characteristics are in good agreement with those associated with the experimental tests. In the following, since the knowledge about moment–temperature–rotation behavior of a specific connection is needed for a fire‐resistant design, these properties are accurately determined, and finally, the effect of some parameters such as the moment applied on beam, change of column axial force and change of beam shear force on the stiffness of these connections at elevated temperatures is determined. Current force‐based design procedure adopted by most seismic design codes allows the seismic design of building structures to be based on static or dynamic analyses of elastic models of the structure using elastic design spectra. The codes anticipate that structures will undergo inelastic deformations under strong seismic events; therefore, such inelastic behaviour is usually incorporated into the design by dividing the elastic spectra by a factor, R, which reduces the spectrum from its original elastic demand level to a design level. The most important factors determining response reduction factors are the structural ductility and overstrength capacity. For a structure supporting on flexible foundation, as Soil Structure Interaction (SSI) extends the elastic period and increases damping of the structure‐foundation elastic system, the structural ductility could also be affected by frequency‐dependent foundation‐soil compliances. For inelastic systems supporting on flexible foundations, the inelastic spectra ordinates are greater than for elastic systems when presented in terms of flexible‐base structure's period. This implies that the reduction factors, which are currently not affected by the SSI effect, could be altered; therefore, the objective of this research is to evaluate the significance of foundation flexibility on force reduction factors of RC frame structures. In this research, by developing some generic RC frame models supporting on flexible foundations, effects of stiffness and strength of the structure on force reduction factors are evaluated for different relative stiffnesses between the structure and the supporting soil. Using a set of artificial earthquake records, repeated linear and nonlinear analyses were performed by gradually increasing the intensity of acceleration time histories to a level, where first yielding of steel in linear analysis and a level in which collapse of the structure in nonlinear analysis are observed. The difference between inelastic and elastic resistance in terms of displacement ductility factors has been quantified. The results indicated that the foundation flexibility could significantly change the response reduction factors of the system and neglecting this phenomenon may lead to erroneous conclusions in the prediction of seismic performance of flexibly supported RC frame structures.
