Nanosized calcium carbonate particles were prepared with a continuous gas-liquid membrane contactor. The effects of Ca(OH)2 concentration, CO2 pressure and liquid flow velocity on the particles morphology, pressure drop and membrane fouling were studied. With rising Ca(OH)2 concentrations, the average size of the particles increased. The effects of Ca(OH)2 concentration and CO2 pressure on particles were not apparent under the experimental conditions. When the Ca(OH)2 concentration and liquid flow velocity were high, or the CO2 pressure was low, the fouling on the membrane external surface at the contactor entrance was serious due to liquid leakage, whereas the fouling was slight at exit. The fouling on the membrane inner-surface at entrance was apparent due to adsorption of raw materials. The membrane can be recovered by washing with dilute hydrochloric acid and reused for at least 6 times without performance deterioration.  相似文献

The optimum insulation thickness of the external wall for four various cities from four climate zones of Turkey, energy savings over a lifetime of 10 years and payback periods are calculated for the five different energy types and four different insulation materials. Foamboard 3500, Foamboard 1500, extruded polystyrene and fiberglass as insulation material are selected. In this study, it is calculated the value of the amount of the net energy savings using the P1–P2 method. The results show that optimum insulation thicknesses vary between 1.06 and 7.64 cm, energy savings vary between 19 $/m2 and 47 $/m2, and payback periods vary between 1.8 and 3.7 years depending on the city and the type of fuel. The highest value of energy savings is reached in A?r? for LPG fuel type, while the lowest value is obtained in Ayd?n for natural gas.  相似文献

In this study, an exergoeconomic model was developed for analysis and optimization of solar heating systems with residential buildings. The optimum collector area (AcAc) and storage volume (VV) for solar-assisted heating system in the Elaz??, Turkey (38.7°N)(38.7°N), weather conditions were obtained using MATLAB optimization toolbox. The energy and exergy losses in each of the components of a solar heating system with seasonal storage were also determined. The results showed that the exergy loss and total cost increased with increasing per house collector area for the trapeze and cylindirical tanks. It was found that the total cost of the cylindrical tank system was higher than that of the other trapeze tank system. The exergy loss at the cylindrical tank was 19.8%, while the exergy loss at the trapeze tank was 8.3%.  相似文献

One of the main disadvantages of solar air collectors in practical applications is their relatively low efficiency. In this experimental investigation, the shape and arrangement of absorber surfaces of the collectors were reorganised to provide better heat transfer surfaces suitable for the passive heat transfer augmentation techniques. The performance of such solar air collectors with staggered absorber sheets and attached fins on absorber surface were tested. The exergy relations are delivered for different solar air collectors. It is seen that the largest irreversibility is occurring at the conventional solar collector in which collector efficiency is smallest.  相似文献

In this study, various tape cast NiO/YSZ anode support layers with similar geometric properties are fabricated by varying the doctor blade from 100?µm to 200?µm with an increment of 25?µm. The mechanical properties of the anode support layers are investigated by three point bending tests of 30 samples for each doctor blade gap. The reliability curves of the flexural strength data are also obtained via two-parameter Weibull distribution method. The effects of the doctor blade gap on the microstructure and the electrochemical performance of the anode support layers are determined via SEM investigations and single cell performance-impedance tests, respectively. The apparent porosities of the samples are also measured by Archimedes’ principle. The results indicate that the doctor blade gap or the resultant tape thickness influences the microstructure of tape cast NiO/YSZ anode supports significantly, yielding different mechanical and electrochemical characteristics. At a reliability level of 70%, the highest flexural strength of 110.20?MPa is obtained from the anode support layer with a doctor blade gap of 175?µm and the 16?cm2 active area cell with this anode support layer also exhibits the highest peak performance of 0.483?W/cm2 at an operating temperature of 800?°C. Thus, a doctor blade gap of 175?µm is found to have such a microstructure that provides not only better mechanical strength but also higher electrochemical performance.  相似文献

Global competition and increasing customer expectations are forcing automobile manufacturers to improve their operations. Maintenance, being one of the most critical components in many industries, has a direct impact on the improvement of the overall production performance. In this paper, we introduce an anticipative plant-level maintenance decision support system (APMDSS) that provides guidance on corrective and preventive maintenance priorities based on the equipment bottleneck ranks with the objective of improving daily plant throughput. APMDSS anticipates the plant dynamics (i.e. bottlenecks, hourly buffer levels and likelihood of machine breakdowns) for upcoming shifts using starting state information of the production shift (e.g. equipment maintenance history, operational status of machines, buffer levels and scheduled production model mix). We also evaluate the performance of APMDSS using real data from an automotive body shop experiencing routine throughput difficulties due to frequent machine breakdowns. The results are compared with other methods from the literature and found to be superior in many settings.  相似文献

Students are often unable to collect the real-time data necessary for conducting inquiry in science classrooms. Web-based, real-time data could, therefore, offer a promising tool for conducting scientific inquiries within classroom environments. This study used a quasi-experimental research design to investigate the effects of inquiry-based instruction coupled with archived online data. Ninety-six preservice teachers in a four-year elementary science teacher-training program participated in this study. The students were enrolled in three sections of the methods course, and these existing groups were randomly assigned to the treatment groups: traditional instruction, traditional instruction supported with a simulation, and inquiry-based instruction with archived online data. Data were collected with structured interviews and analyzed with the constant comparative method and one-way ANOVA. Before the instructional interventions, none of the participants had a scientific understanding of tides, and 15% of the participants had no conceptual understanding of tides at all. After instruction, 72% of the participants who received inquiry-based instruction with archived online data were categorized as having scientific conceptual understandings; 46% of participants who received traditional instruction supported with a simulation were categorized as having scientific conceptual understandings; and 43% of participants who received traditional instruction were categorized as having scientific conceptual understandings. Statistical analyses showed that the group receiving inquiry-based instruction with archived online data performed significantly better than the other two instructional groups. Inquiry-based instruction with archived online data can be used to effectively perform inquiry activities within science classes; it might be used at different grade levels to teach a variety of scientific content.  相似文献
