Multi-display groupware (MDG) systems, which typically comprise both public and personal displays, promise to enhance collaboration, yet little is understood about how they differ in use from single-display groupware (SDG) systems. While research has established the technical feasibility of MDG systems, evaluations have not addressed the question of how users’ behave in such environments, how their interface design can impact group behavior, or what advantages they offer for collaboration. This paper presents a user study that investigates the impact of display configuration and software interface design on taskwork and teamwork. Groups of three completed a collaborative optimization task in single- and multi-display environments, under different task interface constraints. Our results suggest that MDG configurations offer advantages for performing individual task duties, whereas SDG conditions offer advantages for coordinating access to shared resources. The results also reveal the importance of ergonomic design considerations when designing co-located groupware systems.  相似文献

Advancing hole transport layers (HTL) to realize large-area, flexible, and high-performance perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is one of the most challenging issues for its commercialization. Here, a self-assembled gradient Ti3C2Tx MXene incorporated PEDOT:PSS HTL is demonstrated to achieve high-performance large-area PSCs by establishing half-caramelization-based glucose-induced MXene redistribution. Through this process, the Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets are spontaneously dispersed and redistributed at the top region of HTL to form the unique gradient distribution structure composed of MXene:Glucose:PEDOT:PSS (MG-PEDOT). These results show that the MG-PEDOT HTL not only offers favorable energy level alignment and efficient charge extraction, but also improves the film quality of perovskite layer featuring enlarged grain size, lower trap density, and longer carrier lifetime. Consequently, the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of the flexible device based on MG-PEDOT HTL is increased by 36% compared to that of pristine PEDOT:PSS HTL. Meanwhile, the flexible perovskite solar minimodule (15 cm2 area) using MG-PEDOT HTL achieve a PCE of 17.06%. The encapsulated modules show remarkable long-term storage stability at 85 °C in ambient air (≈90% efficiency retention after 1200 h) and enhanced operational lifetime (≈90% efficiency retention after 200 h). This new approach shows a promising future of the self-assembled HTLs for developing optoelectronic devices.  相似文献

To understand the entrainment process in granular flow, numerical experiments have been conducted using a Discrete Element Method model. A flow channel of 8 m long with \(15^\circ \) slope is setup with monitoring points located in an erodible bed. Particles, ranging from 3 to 4 mm in diameters, are used in the simulations. In the simulations, translational, rotational and average velocities, total volume, shear stresses are calculated in the measurement circles. The sizes of the measurement circles have been varied to see their effects on the results. It is found the minimum size of the measurement circles should include 20–30 particles. An new analytical model has been developed to calculate entrainment in granular flow. Results of the numerical experiment are compared with analytical model. Shear stresses at the interface between flowing particles in motion and the immobile particles in the channel bed, change of depth of erosion and entrainment rate are used to verify the analytical model. It is found that the calculated shear stresses in the PFC model agree well with the shear stresses calculated using Mohr–Coulomb frictional relationship in the analytical model. The calculated depth of erosion using the new analytical model is also compared with that from dynamic and static entrainment model. The results indicates that the analytical model is able to capture the mechanism of erosion and it can be used in granular flow analysis.  相似文献

Incremental sheet metal forming in general and Single Point Incremental Forming (SPIF) specifically have gone through a period of intensive development with growing attention from research institutes worldwide. The result of these efforts is significant progress in the understanding of the underlying forming mechanisms and opportunities as well as limitations associated with this category of flexible forming processes. Furthermore, creative process design efforts have enhanced the process capabilities and process planning methods. Also, simulation capabilities have evolved substantially. This review paper aims to provide an overview of the body of knowledge with respect to Single Point Incremental Forming. Without claiming to be exhaustive, each section aims for an up-to-date state-of-the-art review with corresponding conclusions on scientific progress and outlook on expected further developments.  相似文献

The design and implementation of a prototype time-of-flight optical ranging system based on the time-correlated single-photon-counting technique are described. The sensor is characterized in terms of its longitudinal and transverse spatial resolution, single-point measurement time, and long-term stability. The system has been operated at stand-off distances of 0.5-5 m, has a depth repeatability of <30 mum, and has a lateral spatial resolution of <500 mum.  相似文献

A distributed optical-fiber stress sensor whose principle of operation is based on the frequency-modulation continuous-wave technique is reported. The sensor consists of a length of birefringent fiber with a mirror attached to one end, a diode laser, and a p-i-n photodiode detector. The intensity and the location of an applied stress are determined simultaneously by detecting the amplitude and the frequency of the beat signal, which is produced by two forward-coupled mode beams. The system was found to have a reasonable spatial resolution of 0.85 m (rms error) in a sensing range of 100 m. The advantages and limitations of the sensor are also discussed.  相似文献

Using loss of heterozygosity analysis, a method designed to detect moderate to large gene deletions, we have identified a new-mutation neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) patient who is somatically mosaic for a large maternally derived deletion in the NF1 gene region. The deletion extends at least from exon 4 near the 5' end of the gene to intron 39 near the 3' end. The gene-coding region is, therefore, mostly or entirely deleted, encompassing a loss of > or = 100 kb. We hypothesize that the deletion occurred at a relatively early developmental timepoint, since signs of NF1 in this patient are not confined to a specific body region, as seen in "segmental" NF, and since both mesodermally and ectodermally derived cells are affected. This report provides the first molecular evidence of somatic mosaicism in NF1 and, taken together with a recent report of germ-line mosaicism in NF1, adds credence to the concept that mosaicism plays an important role in phenotypic and genetic aspects of NF1 and may even be a relatively common phenomenon.  相似文献

In automatic speech recognition (ASR) systems, the speech signal is captured and parameterized at front end and evaluated at back end using the statistical framework of hidden Markov model (HMM). The performance of these systems depend critically on both the type of models used and the methods adopted for signal analysis. Researchers have proposed a variety of modifications and extensions for HMM based acoustic models to overcome their limitations. In this review, we summarize most of the research work related to HMM-ASR which has been carried out during the last three decades. We present all these approaches under three categories, namely conventional methods, refinements and advancements of HMM. The review is presented in two parts (papers): (i) An overview of conventional methods for acoustic phonetic modeling, (ii) Refinements and advancements of acoustic models. Part I explores the architecture and working of the standard HMM with its limitations. It also covers different modeling units, language models and decoders. Part II presents a review on the advances and refinements of the conventional HMM techniques along with the current challenges and performance issues related to ASR.  相似文献

Electro-hydraulic servo-systems are widely employed in industrial applications such as robotic manipulators, active suspensions, precision machine tools and aerospace systems. They provide many advantages over electric motors, including high force to weight ratio, fast response time and compact size. However, precise control of electro-hydraulic systems, due to their inherent nonlinear characteristics, cannot be easily obtained with conventional linear controllers. Most flow control valves can also exhibit some hard nonlinearities such as dead-zone due to valve spool overlap. This work describes the development of an adaptive fuzzy sliding mode controller for an electro-hydraulic system with unknown dead-zone. The boundedness and convergence properties of the closed-loop signals are proven using Lyapunov stability theory and Barbalat’s lemma. Numerical results are presented in order to demonstrate the control system performance.  相似文献

Sliding mode control is a very attractive control scheme because of its robustness against both structured and unstructured uncertainties as well as external disturbances. In this way, it has been widely employed for the dynamic positioning of remotely operated underwater vehicles. Nevertheless, in such situations the discontinuities in the control law must be smoothed out to avoid the undesirable chattering effects. The adoption of properly designed boundary layers has proven effective in completely eliminating chattering, however, leading to an inferior tracking performance. This work describes the development of a dynamic positioning system for remotely operated underwater vehicles. The adopted approach is primarily based on the sliding mode control strategy and enhanced by an adaptive fuzzy algorithm for uncertainty/disturbance compensation. Using the Lyapunov stability theory and Barbalat’s lemma, the boundedness and convergence properties of the closed-loop signals are analytically proven. The performance of the proposed control scheme is also evaluated by means of numerical simulations.  相似文献
