This study is a preliminary investigation of an integrative treatment aimed at improving the efficacy of cognitive therapy (CT) for depression. The development of the treatment protocol was based on process findings, which suggested that strategies used in CT to resolve alliance ruptures may actually exacerbate problems in the therapeutic relationship. The protocol integrates, within the traditional CT treatment manual, procedures to repair alliance ruptures that are derived from or consistent with humanistic and interpersonal therapies. Although conducted by inexperienced therapists, the integrative treatment led to greater improvement than a waiting-list condition. The results also compare favorably to previous findings for CT. A number of methodological questions have been raised about the reliability and validity of measuring executive functioning (EF) across multiple time points. In this study, correlational and latent-variable analyses were used to examine test-retest reliability of 5 common measures of EF and the stability of a latent EF construct. One hundred eighteen nondemented older adults were tested twice over a 4- to 8-week period. Findings demonstrated modest reliability of individual EF measures but very high stability of a latent EF construct. Relative contributions of each measure to the latent EF factor did not change across measurement trials. In addition, age-related effects on EF were similar at the 2 time points and were within the expected range. Implications for future studies of EF are discussed. Continued research into the development of III-V high-electron mobility transistors (HEMTs), specifically the minimization of the device gate length, has yielded the fastest performance reported for any three terminal devices to date. In addition, more recent research has begun to focus on reducing the parasitic device elements such as access resistance and gate fringing capacitance, which become crucial for short gate length device performance maximization. Adopting a self-aligned T-gate architecture is one method used to reduce parasitic device access resistance, but at the cost of increasing parasitic gate fringing capacitances. As the device gate length is then reduced, the benefits of the self-aligned gate process come into question, as at these ultrashort-gate dimensions, the magnitude of the static fringing capacitances will have a greater impact on performance. To better understand the influence of these issues on the dc and RF performance of short gate length InP pHEMTs, the authors present a comparison between In0.7Ga0.3As channel 50-nm self-aligned and "standard" T-gate devices. Figures of merit for these devices include transconductance greater than 1.9 S/mm, drive current in the range 1.4 A/mm, and fT up to 490 GHz. The paper reports the results of on-site regeneration catalytic bed of the natural gas reformer in a 5 kW PEM fuel cell system. The Ni catalyst previously poisoned by sulphur from the available natural gas, could be re-activated by injection of pure water steam, following the method developed for industrial reformers using the same metal catalyst: this method was shown to be perfectly efficient, provided no natural gas was fed during the operation. It is generally appreciated that the mechanical behavior of granular media depends fundamentally on the interaction of the
constituent particles, and that the validity of numerical models of granular media would be greatly improved with knowledge
of the grain-scale mechanics. However, most supporting experimental work has been conducted on highly idealized materials,
and a limited amount of information exists on grain-scale force–displacement relationships for naturally occurring materials.
To address this shortcoming, we are conducting a program that integrates laboratory experiments on grains of naturally occurring
aggregate with the discrete element modeling method, with the goal of relating the grain-scale physical and mechanical properties
of granular media to bulk behavior. The paper describes the equipment and methods that have been developed to conduct close-loop
controlled, grain-scale experiments under monotonic and cyclic loading conditions, and presents results from an initial set
of experiments on unbonded grains. The implications of the grain-scale results to the discrete element model are discussed.
Discussions center on the applicability of a physically based approach to the mechanics of granular media in general. In light
of future exploration missions and the resulting need to predict the mechanical properties of lunar and planetary regoliths,
the paper examines the potential usefulness of our physically based approach to the problem of predicting the behavior of

To identify factors affecting the chemical stability and preservative efficacy of lamivudine oral liquid formulations, an optimization study using a central composite design was performed. In this design, five factors, each at three levels, were investigated: pH (4.5, 5.5, and 73, sucrose (5%, 20%. and 50% w/v), propylene glycol (0% 2%, and 5% w/v), glycerin (4% 8%, and 12% w/v). and EDTA (0.100. 0.175, and 0.250 mg/mL). All formulations contained a constant concentration of lamivudine, parabens, and artificial strawberry and banana flavors. All formulations were evaluated for preservative effectiveness against USP and BP standards and for chemical stability at 30°C and 40°C for three months. All formulations were effective against bacteria and yeasts, but indicated reduced preservative effectiveness against the mold Aspergillus niger. Preservative effectiveness improved with increasing pH (4.5 to 7.5) and to a lesser extent with increasing EDTA concentration (0.100 to 0.250 mg/mL). Increasing glycerin concentration (4% to 12% w/v) slightly decreased preservative effectiveness. Over the concentration ranges tested, no change in preservative effectiveness was noted with concentration changes in sucrose or propylene glycol. The pH was the main factor influencing the chemical stability of the drug and preservatives in this study. Lamivudine chemical stability increased with increasing pH from 4.5 to 7.5. Methyl and propylparaben showed extensive degradation at pH 7.5. 相似文献

The reaction occurred readily at room temperature yielding semi-solid polymers with broad molecular weight distributions which narrowed as the reaction progressed.
