A finite element analysis model for the post-local buckling behaviour of cold-formed steel (CFS) members subjected to axial compression has been developed. The finite element model consists of a Total Lagrangian nonlinear 9-node “assumed strain” shell finite element, and experimental-based material properties models to represent the body of the CFS sections. Experimentally derived residual stress variations, and initial geometric imperfections have also been incorporated. A special loading technique and a displacement solution algorithm were employed to obtain a uniform displacement condition at the loading edges. Details of a test program involving 20 non-perforated, and perforated cold-formed stub-column steel sections have been presented in the second part of the paper. The comparison between the test results, and the finite element results was performed for axial and lateral displacement behaviour, buckling loads, ultimate loads, and axial stress distribution. The comparison forms the basis for the evaluation of the efficiency, and the accuracy of the finite element model, and it indicated that the finite element analysis model constructed herein gives accurate and consistent results for the behaviour of the cold-formed steel members subjected to axial compression.  相似文献

This paper presents the results of an experimental study to investigate the role of each layer of reinforcement on the behavior of concrete bridge deck slabs reinforced with fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) bars. Four full-scale concrete deck slabs of 3,000?mm length by 2,500?mm width and 200?mm depth were constructed and tested in the laboratory. One deck slab was reinforced with top and bottom mats of glass FRP bars. Two deck slabs had only a bottom reinforcement mat with different reinforcement ratios in the longitudinal direction, while the remaining deck slab was constructed with plain concrete without any reinforcement. The deck slabs were supported on two steel girders spaced at 2,000?mm center to center and were tested to failure under a central concentrated load. The three reinforced concrete slabs had very similar behavior and failed in punching shear mode at relatively high load levels, whereas the unreinforced slab behaved differently and failed at a very low load level. The experimental punching capacities of the reinforced slabs were compared to the theoretical predictions provided by ACI 318-05, ACI 440.1R-06, and a model proposed by the writers. The tests on the four deck slabs showed that the bottom transverse reinforcement layer has the major influence on the behavior and capacity of the tested slabs. In addition, the ACI 318-05 design method slightly overestimated the punching shear strength of the tested slabs. The ACI 440.1R-06 design method yielded very conservative predictions whereas the proposed method provided reasonable yet conservative predictions.  相似文献

As the credit industry has been growing rapidly, credit scoring models have been widely used by the financial industry during this time to improve cash flow and credit collections. However, a large amount of redundant information and features are involved in the credit dataset, which leads to lower accuracy and higher complexity of the credit scoring model. So, effective feature selection methods are necessary for credit dataset with huge number of features. In this paper, a novel approach, called RSFS, to feature selection based on rough set and scatter search is proposed. In RSFS, conditional entropy is regarded as the heuristic to search the optimal solutions. Two credit datasets in UCI database are selected to demonstrate the competitive performance of RSFS consisted in three credit models including neural network model, J48 decision tree and Logistic regression. The experimental result shows that RSFS has a superior performance in saving the computational costs and improving classification accuracy compared with the base classification methods.  相似文献

Users of location-based services are highly vulnerable to privacy risks since they need to disclose, at least partially, their locations to benefit from these services. One possibility to limit these risks is to obfuscate the location of a user by adding random noise drawn from a noise function. In this paper, we require the noise functions to satisfy a generic location privacy notion called \(\ell \)-privacy, which makes the position of the user in a given region \(\mathcal {X}\) relatively indistinguishable from other points in \(\mathcal {X}\). We also aim at minimizing the loss in the service utility due to such obfuscation. While existing optimization frameworks regard the region \(\mathcal {X}\) restrictively as a finite set of points, we consider the more realistic case in which the region is rather continuous with a nonzero area. In this situation, we demonstrate that circular noise functions are enough to satisfy \(\ell \)-privacy on \(\mathcal {X}\) and equivalently on the entire space without any penalty in the utility. Afterward, we describe a large parametric space of noise functions that satisfy \(\ell \)-privacy on \(\mathcal {X}\), and show that this space has always an optimal member, regardless of \(\ell \) and \(\mathcal {X}\). We also investigate the recent notion of \(\epsilon \)-geo-indistinguishability as an instance of \(\ell \)-privacy and prove in this case that with respect to any increasing loss function, the planar Laplace noise function is optimal for any region having a nonzero area.  相似文献

High-temperature tensile deformation of 6082-T4 Al alloy was conducted in the range of 623–773 K at various strain rates in the range of 5 × 10−5 to 2 × 10−2 s−1. Stress dependence of the strain rate revealed a stress exponent, n of 7 throughout the ranges of temperatures and strain rates tested. This stress exponent is higher than what is usually observed in Al–Mg alloys under similar experimental conditions, which implies the presence of threshold stress. This behavior results from dislocation interaction with second phase particles (Mg2Si). The experimental threshold stress values were calculated, based on the finding that creep rate is viscous glide controlled, based on creep tests conducted on binary Al–1Mg at 673 K, that gave n a value of 3. The threshold stress (σ o) values were seen to decrease exponentially with temperature. The apparent activation energy for 6082-T4 was calculated to be about 245 kJ mol−1, which is higher than the activation energy for self-diffusion in Al (Q d = 143 kJ mol−1) and for the diffusion of Mg in Al (115–130 kJ mol−1). By incorporating the threshold stress in the analysis, the true activation energy was calculated to be about 107 kJ mol−1. Analysis of strain rate dependence in terms of the effective stress (σ − σ o) using normalized parameters, revealed a single type of deformation behavior. A new scheduling and cost optimization model for high-rise construction is presented in this paper. The model has been formulated with a unique representation of the activities that form the building’s structural core, which need to be dealt with carefully to avoid scheduling errors. In addition, the model has been formulated incorporating: (1) the logical relationships within each floor and among floors of varying sizes; (2) work continuity and crew synchronization; (3) optional estimates and seasonal productivity factors; (4) prespecified deadline, work interruptions, and resource constraints; and (5) a genetic algorithms-based cost optimization that determines the combination of construction methods, number of crews, and work interruptions that meet schedule constraints. A computer prototype was then developed to demonstrate the model’s usefulness on a case study high-rise project. The model is useful to both researchers and practitioners as it better suits the environment of high-rise construction, avoids scheduling errors, optimizes cost, and provides a legible presentation of resource assignments and progress data.  相似文献
