Summary The sugar content of fourteen soft drinks amply consumed in Spain has been determined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The method, fast and reliable requires a minimum of sample preparation. For the total sugar content, a comparison is made with the classical column chromatography.

Zusammenfassung Der Zuckergehalt von vierzehn Erfrischungsgetränken, deren Verbrauch in Spanien sehr groß ist, wurde durch die Hochdruckflüssigkeitschromatographie (HPLC) festgestellt. Diese schnelle und zuverlässige Methode erfordert ein Minimum an Vorbereitungen. Für den gesamten Zuckergehalt wird ein Vergleich mit der klassischen Säulenchromatographie durchgeführt.

The rates of CO and CO/CO2 hydrogenation at 4.2 MPa and 523 K are reported for a series of Cu/SiO2 catalysts containing 2 to 88 wt.% Cu. These catalysts were prepared on a variety of silica sources using several different Cu deposition techniques. In CO/CO2 hydrogenation, the rate of methanol formation is proportional to the exposed Cu surface area of the reduced catalyst precursor, as determined by N2O frontal chromatography. The observed rate, 4.2×10–3 mole CH3OH/Cu site-sec, is within a factor of three of the rates reported by others over Cu/ZnO and Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 catalysts under comparable conditions. These results suggest that the ZnO component is only a moderate promoter in methanol synthesis. Hydrogenation of CO over these catalysts also gives methanol with high selectivity, but the synthesis rate is not proportional to the Cu surface area. This implies that another type of site, either alone or in cooperation with Cu, is involved in the synthesis of methanol from CO.  相似文献

The austemperability of seven high silicon cast steels with different alloy contents was characteri sed. The maximum round bar diameter that can be fully austempered changed from about 10?mm for an unalloyed steel to more than 70?mm for a low-alloy steel. The austemperability was calculated by applying a procedure based on a standard Jominy test and the characterisation of the microstructure along the Jominy sample. The method, which was validated experimentally, creates a relatively simple procedure to measure austemperability. Processing factors such as the ability of the salt bath to extract heat and the austempering temperature are accounted for the method. The metallographic study revealed the influence of microsegregation on hardenability, which is particularly important for cast steels.  相似文献

This article details the analysis of two conducting shafts operating on blowers of a tunnel dryer. A deductive analysis was applied looking toward a successful recognition of root cause(s), where based on knowledge of background, and failure characteristics, multiple hypothesis are exposed that are further confirmed or rejected according to different tests, material analysis or maintenance history. In both shafts, failure arises from inadequate repairing. In order to confirm this, the failure analysis methodology included the following steps: technical review, visual inspection, fractography, penetrating inks, metallography, optic microscopy and stress analysis. Evidence obtained through these techniques indicates a fatigue failure induced by inadequate repairing procedures; therefore, main recommendation is to take the necessary precautions in order to guarantee minimal alterations on shaft geometry or material microstructure.  相似文献

Recently released, BS 8571:2014 standard offers an alternative for the experimental determination of fracture toughness and resistance curves of metallic materials from SE(T) specimens. Similar in stress conditions and constraint to cracked tubes, specimens in SE(T) geometry should yield less conservative toughness values than conventional high‐constraint specimens, such as SE(B) geometry. However, the convention to determine the J‐integral fracture toughness proposed in the new BS standard is different from ASTM standards. In this work, SE(T) and SE(B) specimens of similar dimensions of a tough high‐strength seamless pipe steel were tested following the BS 8571:2014 and ASTM E1820‐16 standards, respectively. Because of the different standardized definitions, SE(T) specimens yield lower fracture toughness than SE(B) specimens, which could lead to more conservative results in structural integrity analysis. This investigation also suggests the introduction of the blunting line concept in the BS 8571:2014 standard in order to minimize this problem.  相似文献
