Ochratoxins are fungal secondary metabolites that may contaminate various foods and beverages. The intake of ochratoxins by humans may result in typical syndromes (nefrotoxicity, carcinogenity, teratogenicity and immunotoxicity) and has been associated with Balkan Endemic Nephropathy (BEN). In this study we evaluated the effects of accumulation of ochratoxin A throughout the chain production of eggs, by investigating the dynamics of OA accumulation in eggs placed by laying hens experimentally exposed to OA.  相似文献

We report on a facile method towards a synthesis of novel hybrid heparin silica nanoparticles involving a modification of the Stober method. Tetrapropyl orthosilicate (TPOS) was used instead of the traditional TEOS or TMOS; by this way we could overcome the solubility problems of heparin in ethanol and exploit the good solubility of heparin in proper isopropanol–water mixtures. Aminopropyl triethoxysilane (APTS) was also used to have a good link of heparin to silica particles. SEM, DLS, FTIR and NMR proved that we did find conditions in which heparin conjugated silica particles were produced.Thermogravimetry allowed to evaluate the heparin/silica weight ratio to be 0.61. The efficiency of heparin binding to the particles was appreciated to be 35 wt.%.  相似文献

The potential of FTIR combined with chemometrics was studied to classify five Moroccan varieties of olives by analysis on the endocarps. Attenuated total reflectance (ATR) enabled the samples to be examined directly in the solid state. The spectral data were subjected to a preliminary derivative elaboration based on the Norris gap algorithm to reduce the noise and extract larger analytical information. Linear discriminant analysis (LDA) was adopted as classification method, and Principle component analysis (PCA) was employed to compress the original data set into a reduced new set of variables before LDA. The calibration set was built by using the IR data from seventy‐five samples scanned in reflectance mode, and the ranges 3000–2400 and 2300–600 cm?1 were selected because furnishing the most useful analytical information. PCA allowed clustering the samples in five classes by using the first two principal components with an explained variance of 98.16%. Application of LDA on an external test set of twenty‐five samples enabled to classify them into five variety groups with a correct classification of 92.0%.  相似文献

The current SARS-CoV-2 pandemic causes serious public health, social, and economic issues all over the globe. Surface transmission has been claimed as a possible SARS-CoV-2 infection route, especially in heavy contaminated environmental surfaces, including hospitals and crowded public places. Herein, we studied the deactivation of SARS-CoV-2 on photoactive AgNPs@TiO2 coated on industrial ceramic tiles under dark, UVA, and LED light irradiations. SARS-CoV-2 inactivation is effective under any light/dark conditions. The presence of AgNPs has an important key to limit the survival of SARS-CoV-2 in the dark; moreover, there is a synergistic action when TiO2 is decorated with Ag to enhance the virus photocatalytic inactivation even under LED. The radical oxidation was confirmed as the the central mechanism behind SARS-CoV-2 damage/inactivation by ESR analysis under LED light. Therefore, photoactive AgNPs@TiO2 ceramic tiles could be exploited to fight surface infections, especially during viral severe pandemics.  相似文献

Type 2 diabetes (T2D) represents one of the major health issues of this century. Despite the availability of an increasing number of anti-hyperglycemic drugs, a significant proportion of patients are inadequately controlled, thus highlighting the need for novel biomarkers to guide treatment selection. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNAs, proposed as useful diagnostic/prognostic markers. The aim of our study was to identify a miRNA signature occurring in responders to glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists (GLP1-RA) therapy. We investigated the expression profile of eight T2D-associated circulating miRNAs in 26 prospectively evaluated diabetic patients in whom GLP1-RA was added to metformin. As expected, GLP1-RA treatment induced significant reductions of HbA1c and body weight, both after 6 and 12 months of therapy. Of note, baseline expression levels of the selected miRNAs revealed two distinct patient clusters: “high expressing” and “low expressing”. Interestingly, a significantly higher percentage of patients in the high expression group reached the glycemic target after 12 months of treatment. Our findings suggest that the evaluation of miRNA expression could be used to predict the likelihood of an early treatment response to GLP1-RA and to select patients in whom to start such treatment, paving the way to a personalized medicine approach.  相似文献

In order to meet national energy requirements, Nicaragua has had to direct its attention towards sources of “alternative energy”, such as geothermal. Excellent geothermal prospects exist in this country, for which reason the Revolutionary Government has deemed it convenient to direct its energy policy towards this alternative source. Studies carried out during past years have led to the selection of nine areas in western Nicaragua, four of which were earmarked Very High Priority because they contain high enthalpy geothermal fields, three areas were earmarked High Priority and only two Low Priority. The positive results obtained in the Momotombo geothermal project have become an incentive to continue research and development nation-wide.At present, a power plant is operating with 35 MW at the Momotombo geothermal field; another 35 MW power plant is under construction in the same field; the El Hoyo-Monte Galan project is in the pre-feasibility phase and surveys are under way throughout national territory.  相似文献

This paper discusses issues of design for software systems for computer controlled manipulators. A short review of the features which have become important in present soft-ware systems for industrial applications is presented, including how various desirable system capabilities can be introduced at reasonable computational costs.The paper is based mainly on the experiences obtained in designing and implementing MAL, a software system for controlling and programming an experimental robot, and VML, a machine independent intermediate language to be used as a target for compliers of high level programming languages for robots.An explanation of how management of multiprocess capabilities, synchronization of different devices, error handling and other desirable features can be inserted in a simple system, implemented on micro and minicomputers and made suitable for industrial applications will be shown.  相似文献
