There are several ways to insert Built-in Self-Test (BIST) circuitry on a circuit, each of them with particular consequences on area overhead, test application time and fault coverage. This paper presents a BIST insertion methodology applied to datapaths described at the RTL level that uses a database containing: (a) testability data of several types of test pattern generators (TPGs) and signature analyzers (SAs) when connected to several types of functional units and (b) area overhead due to the implementation by a datapath register of each type of those test resources. The availability of this database makes then possible to choose the best test resource types associated to each functional unit in a datapath, leading to good testability and area results.  相似文献

The authors discuss the growing need for primary care residents to learn how to care for patients of many cultural backgrounds. To effectively learn the needed skills, residents must incorporate insights from areas outside medicine. The authors focus on three such areas: cultural competency, public health, and community-oriented primary care. Regarding cultural competency, the authors make clear that on the one hand, physicians must be trained to be sensitive to cultural differences and patterns, but on the other, they cannot be expected to know the many cultures of their patients in depth. They discuss the Core Curriculum Guidelines on Culturally Sensitive and Competent Health Care created by the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine. Regarding community-oriented primary care (COPC), a process introduced from Europe in 1982, the authors state that one of its key elements is to provide accessible care to diverse and often underserved populations. However, various factors have kept COPC, and the federally funded community health centers that address the concerns of COPC, from having the widespread effects they could have. Regarding public health, the authors review the various services and orientations of public health and show how these help foster care for diverse populations. The authors then briefly describe their own residency program and its work with diverse populations. They conclude by emphasizing the importance for residents of learning the principles and practices embodied in cultural competency, public health, and COPC in order to effectively communicate with their patients.  相似文献

This article describes the basic evaluation process and test methodology employed when temperature extremes for clothing systems must be considered as part of the U.S. Army's Health Hazard Assessment for material in the development and acquisition process. The goals of the evaluation are to select clothing systems that minimize the hazards of heat strain and to predict the heat strain for persons wearing such clothing. Clothing evaluations begin with biophysical assessments that determine the thermal characteristics (vapor permeability and insulation) for textiles via guarded hot plate tests and for clothing systems via thermal manikin tests. The results from biophysical tests can be used to select the textile and/or clothing with the best thermal characteristics. The data from manikin evaluations also can be used in prediction modeling. Human physiological testing is best done in a controlled laboratory environment, although for realism and user acceptability field trials may also be conducted. Proven test and measurement methods must be employed, and tests must control for confounding variables; subjects serve as their own controls, and test environment and procedures are consistent between trials. The process and test methodology described can be applied to the evaluation of civilian clothing systems as well as to the military systems for which they were developed.  相似文献

The effect of interleukin-6 (IL-6) on metallothionein-I (MT-I) and MT-III expression in the brain has been studied in transgenic mice expressing IL-6 under the regulatory control of the glial fibrillary acidic protein gene promoter (GFAP-IL6 mice), which develop chronic progressive neurodegenerative disease. In situ hybridization analysis revealed that GFAP-IL6 (G16-low expressor line, and G36-high expressor line) mice had strongly increased MT-I mRNA levels in the cerebellum (Purkinje and granular layers of the cerebellar cortex and basal nuclei) and, to a lesser degree, in thalamus (only G36 line) and hypothalamus, whereas no significant alterations were observed in other brain areas studied. Microautoradiography and immunocytochemistry studies suggest that the MT-I expression is predominantly localized to astrocytes throughout the cerebrum and especially in Bergman glia in the cerebellum. However, a significant expression was also observed in microglia of the GFAP-IL6 mice. MT-III expression was significantly increased in the Purkinje cell layer and basal nuclei of the cerebellum, which was confirmed by Northern blot analysis of poly(A)+ mRNA and by ELISA of the MT-III protein. In contrast, in the G36 but not G16 mice, transgene expression of IL-6 was associated with significantly decreased MT-III RNA levels in the dentate gyrus and CA3 pyramidal neuron layer of the hippocampus and, in both G36 and G16 mice, in the occipital but not frontal cortex and in ependymal cells. Thus, both the widely expressed MT-I isoform and the CNS specific MT-III isoform are significantly affected in a MT isoform- and CNS area-specific manner in the GFAP-IL6 mice, a chronic model of brain damage.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Lung donor shortage is a critical factor limiting the expansion of pediatric lung transplantation programs. This report details the surgical technical feasibility of a training model of lobar lung transplantation as well as the perioperative monitoring to evaluate the appropriate pulmonary graft function. METHODS: Ten hybrid Large-White pigs underwent left lower lobe lung allotransplantation; Donors weighed 15 to 20 kg and recipients 5 to 7 kg. The first five animals were used to learn the surgical anatomy and to establish the surgical technique and instrumentation's model (Group A). One hour after transplantation the right lung was excluded. Lung function and hemodynamic data were collected sequentially in the following five animals (Group B). RESULTS: The left inferior pulmonary lobe was found to be the most suitable allograft for transplantation. Usually, bronchial size discrepancy allowed telescoping of the airway anastomosis. Left atrial clamping was well tolerated during the pulmonary vein anastomoses. Preoperative antiaggregation and postoperatively heparinization achieved with ACT values over 200 seconds, prevented left atrial thrombosis. After right lung exclusion, hemodynamic changes consisted of a sustained increase in pulmonary vascular resistance and a reduction in cardiac output. Lung mechanics were also modified, with a gradual rise in airway resistance and a fall in compliance. CONCLUSIONS: The neonatal pig tolerates left lobar pulmonary transplantation satisfactorily. Although it is a useful and promising surgical learning model, questions remain regarding the applicability of this experience to clinical pediatric lung transplantation.  相似文献

Dorsal hippocampal cholinergic modulation of behavior in different tests of anxiety was investigated by direct injection of the muscarinic M1 and M2 receptor antagonists, pirenzepine and gallamine, and the nicotinic receptor antagonist mecamylamine. In the social interaction test, the anxiogenic effect of pirenzepine (30-100 ng) provided evidence for a tonic cholinergic anxiolytic action mediated by postsynaptic M1 receptors. The anxiogenic action of mecamylamine (30 and 100 ng) was most likely mediated by its action of presynaptic nicotinic receptors to reduce acetylcholine release. Gallamine (10-1,000 ng) was without effect, suggesting that M2 receptors in this brain region do not play a significant role in this behavioral test. On Trial 1 in the elevated plus-maze, the receptor antagonists were without any effect, but in those with a previous 5-min experience of the plus-maze pirenzepine and mecamylamine had anxiogenic effects in the dose range of 30-300 ng; gallamine (100 and 300 ng) was without significant effect.  相似文献

An integrated method for symbolical derivation of Eqs and numerical computations using dual numbers for analysis of spatial mechanisms is presented in this paper. The formulation is based on 3×3 dual transformation matrices and derived symbolically using the Mathematica TM software package. Based on the solution procedure presented in this paper, a software library of functions for displacement analysis of spatial mechanisms has been developed. Functions in this software library can be readily used in theC H language environment, where dual number is treated as a first-class object. Displacement analysis of the RCRCR spatial mechanisms is used as an example to illustrate the solution procedure and programming details.  相似文献

Bariatric surgery is the most effective method for treating patients with morbid obesity, and participation of the anesthesiologist in the treatment of these patients is more and more frequent. Therefore it is important for anesthesiologists to be familiar with anatomic and physiologic implications and the pharmacologic changes associated with obesity, so they can offer optimal perioperative treatment. The present study describes a series of 37 patients with an average body mass index of 50.3 kg/m2 who underwent bariatric surgery in a third-level teaching hospital in Mexico City. Preoperative assessment, airway management, perioperative treatment, and the incidence of complications are analyzed. We found a high frequency of associated diseases, among which diabetes mellitus and systemic arterial hypertension were the most prominent. Cardiorespiratory complications such as obstructive sleep apnea syndrome and obesity-hypoventilation syndrome were particularly frequent (16.2% and 22.0%, respectively). Both general anesthesia and mixed anesthesia (peridural block plus light general anesthesia) were employed. The incidence of complications related to perioperative and anesthetic management was low. We discuss and propose protocols for the evaluation and management of airway and associated cardiorespiratory complications.  相似文献

In this paper we describe several new clustering algorithms for nodes in a mobile ad hoc network. The main contribution is to generalize the cluster definition and formation algorithm so that a cluster contains all nodes that are at distance at most k hops from the clusterhead. We also describe algorithms for modifying cluster structure in the presence of topological changes. We also proposed an unified framework for most existing and new clustering algorithm where a properly defined weight at each node is the only difference in otherwise the same algorithm. This paper studied node connectivity and node ID as two particular weights, for k=1 and k=2. Finally, we propose a framework for generating random unit graphs with obstacles.  相似文献
