Activated carbon adsorption of trichloroethylene (TCE) vapor stripped from TCE-contaminated water 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Ground water contaminated with trichloroethylene (TCE) used in electronic, electric, dry cleaning and the like industries is often treated by air-stripping. In this treatment process, TCE in its vapor form is stripped from ground water by air stream and sometimes emitted into the atmosphere without any additional treatments. Activated carbon adsorption is one of the practical and useful processes for recovering the TCE vapor from the exhaust air stream. However, adsorption of the TCE vapor from the stripping air stream onto activated carbons is not so simple as that from dry air, since in the exhaust air stream the TCE vapor coexists with water vapor with relatively high concentrations. The understanding of the adsorption characteristics of the TCE vapor to be adsorbed on activated carbon in the water vapor-coexisting system is essential for successfully designing and operating the TCE recovery process. In this work, the adsorption equilibrium relations of the TCE vapor adsorption on activated carbons were elucidated as a function of various relative humidity. Activated carbon fibers (ACFs) were used as model activated carbon. The adsorption equilibrium relations were studied by the column adsorption method. The adsorption isotherms of TCE vapor adsorbed on sample ACFs were successfully correlated by the Dubinin-Radushkevich equation for both cases with and without coexistent water vapor. No effects of coexistent water vapor were found on the limiting adsorption volume. However, the adsorption characteristic energy was significantly reduced by the coexistence of water vapor and its reduction was successfully correlated with the equilibrium amount of water vapor adsorbed under the dynamic condition. 相似文献

Pentisomide, 2-(2-diisopropylaminoethyl)-4-methyl-2-(pyridyl)- pentanamide, is a novel antiarrhythmic agent structurally related to disopyramide. Using a glass bead arrhythmic model, the authors studied the antiarrhythmic effect of pentisomide in dogs by monitoring the plasma concentrations. When pentisomide was infused at 1 mg/kg/min for 20 min, the ventricular tachycardia was significantly reduced at 5 min after starting the infusion; the arrhythmias were reduced to less than 5% at the end of the 20 min infusion. The plasma-free concentration of pentisomide was about 3 micrograms/ml at 5 min; it increased to about 10 micrograms/ml at the end of 20 min infusion. With 0.3 mg/kg/min infusion, the arrhythmias were reduced to about 60% but were not significant at 20 min of infusion. The plasma-free concentration of pentisomide did not reach 3 micrograms/ml until 20 min of infusion. The 3 micrograms/ml plasma-free concentration for pentisomide seems to be a critical concentration in inducing a significant antiarrhythmic effect. Pentisomide dose-dependently inhibited ischaemia-reperfusion arrhythmia at doses of 30 microM and higher concentrations in vitro. In conclusion, pentisomide inhibits arrhythmias dependent with the plasma concentration or with the concentration of the external solution. The critical plasma-free concentration for inhibition of arrhythmias was 3 micrograms/ml (not equal to 10 microM) and the in vitro effect also had a similar concentration. A method for fabricating epoxy resin films dispersing the surface‐modified barium titanate (BT) particles (BT‐epoxy resin composite films) are proposed. BT particles with a size of 7.8 nm and a crystal size of 8.6 nm were synthesized with a complex alkoxide method. To introduce epoxy groups on the BT particle surface, the BT particles were surface‐modified with 2‐(3,4‐epoxycyclohexyl)‐ethyltrimethoxysilane. A precursor solution, which was prepared by prereacting 2,2‐bis(4‐glycidyloxyphenyl)propane (BGPP) and phthalic anhydride in 4‐butyrolactone and adding the surface‐modified BT particles to the prereacting solution, was spin‐coated on glass substrates to fabricate the composite films. An increase in BT volume fraction in film increased dielectric constant of the composite film while keeping dissipation factor below 0.03. The dielectric constant attained 10.8 at a BT volume fraction of 30% in film that was around twice higher than pure epoxy resin film. POLYM. The microstructure of an epitaxial PbTiO3 thick film, grown on a SrRuO3/SrTiO3 substrate at 600 °C by pulsed-MOCVD method, was investigated by using transmission electron microscopy. A number of extrinsic or intrinsic stacking faults were observed in the epitaxial PbTiO3 thick film and they were parallel to the (0 0 1) plane of the PbTiO3. We also investigated the size distribution of these stacking faults. The width of these stacking faults along the [1 0 0] axis of the PbTiO3 was very small, ranging from 2 to 13 nm. It was also revealed that the size distribution of stacking faults depends on the position in the film: near the surface, near the substrate, near threading dislocations, and near 90° domain boundaries. 相似文献

It is known that indentation using a diamond indenter induces permanent densification to result in plastic or inelastic deformation of glass. However, it is still unclear whether a high tensile stress causes such a structural change or not. In this study, fracture- and indentation-induced structural changes of glasses with the compositions of 20 Na2O − 40x B2O3 – (80−40x) SiO2 (in mol%, x = 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5) are investigated. Two-point bending tests of the glass fibers are performed to apply a high tensile stress to the glasses, and Vickers indentation tests of the glasses are also carried out for comparison. The structural change of the glass is evaluated by using Raman spectroscopy. It is elucidated that a tensile side of the fractured fiber for every composition shows a permanent structural change, which is characterized by a lower wave number shift of Raman peak assigned to the Si-O-Si bending vibration mode. It is also found that the behaviors of Raman peaks of the fractured fiber are opposite to those of the indented glass under a high compressive stress. 相似文献

In this paper, two types of spiral groove bearing (SGB) spindles, a rotating‐shaft spindle and a fixed‐shaft spindle, are analysed, and the dynamic characteristics of these two types of spindles are tested and compared. The effects of lubricants on the dynamic characteristics and power consumption of the spindles are considered. It is found that the dynamic characteristics of the fixed‐shaft spindle are much better in terms of non‐repeatable run out than those of the rotating‐shaft spindle. A technique for preparation of a pillar-shaped specimen and its multidirectional observation using a combination of a scanning transmission electron microscope (STEM) and a focused ion beam (FIB) instrument has been developed. The system employs an FIB/STEM compatible holder with a specially designed tilt mechanism, which allows the specimen to be tilted through 360 degrees [T. Yaguchi, M. Konno, T. Kamino, T. Microanal. 10 (Suppl. 2) (2004) 1030]. This technique was applied to obtain the three-dimensional (3D) elemental distributions around a contact plug of a Si device used in a 90-nm technology. A specimen containing only one contact plug was prepared in the shape of a pillar with a diameter of 200nm and a length of 5mum. Elemental maps were obtained from the pillar specimen using a 200-kV cold-field emission gun (FEG) STEM model HD-2300C equipped with the EDAX genesis X-ray energy-dispersive spectrometry (XEDS) system through a spectrum imaging technique. In this study, elemental distributions of minor elements with weak signals were enhanced by applying principal component analysis (PCA), which is a superior technique to extract weak signals from a large dataset. The distributions of elements, especially the metallization component Ti and minor dopant As in this particular device, were successfully extracted by PCA. Sliding friction tests of pin-on-disc type were carried out for carbon steel, pure iron and pure copper, and the microstructure and hardness near the sliding surfaces were investigated in detail. It was found that patchy transfer layers with ultra-fine (<200 nm) structures were produced on the disc surfaces. Nanocrystalline grains of 30–50 nm were identified for carbon steel, and submicron sized grains of 100–150 nm were observed in pure copper. The thicknesses of the ultra-fine structures were in the range of 10–50 μm, depending on the specimen material, sliding speed and applied load. The hardness near the sliding surface of pure iron was increased compared with the matrix. It was suggested that the hardening was due to the very fine structure formed by severe plastic deformation, but not due to phase transformation caused by thermal effects. 相似文献
