Ultrasmall superparamagnetic iron oxide (Fe3O4) nanoparticles coated by biocompatible pullulan (Pu‐USPIO) with sizes below 10 nm and having a magnetite core and a hydrophilic outer shell of pullulan were prepared. The formed Pu‐USPIOs were thoroughly characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, and small‐angle X‐ray scattering experiments. The content of magnetic nanoparticles embedded into the pullulan matrix was determined by thermogravimetric analysis. Vibrating sample magnetometry analysis was used to evaluate the magnetic properties of the Pu‐USPIO samples. Because of the presence of pullulan, these nanoparticles could be conditioned in many versatile forms, from a clear solution to magnetic films, for potential applications, including magnetic hyperthermia mediators. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In recent years, vegetable oils, as renewable raw materials, became a promising feedstock for chemicals and biodiesel production. The main products derived from oils are esters of fatty acids, especially methyl esters, obtained by their transesterification with methanol, in presence of acid or alkaline catalysts. The use of such catalysts implies the need for washing operations, which leads to environmental pollution. In the present paper, the response surface methodology based on a central composite design, has been developed to optimize the process of transesterification of corn oil. Ba(OH)2 in presence of diethyl ether was used as catalyst. A quadratic polynomial equation was obtained. It correlates the reaction parameters [methanol/oil molar ratio (x r), reaction time (x t) and catalyst concentration (x c)] with methyl esters yield. Analysis of variance analysis showed that only methanol/oil molar ratio and catalyst concentration have had the most significant influences on the conversion. The maximum methyl esters yield was obtained using the following optimum parameters: methanol/corn oil ratio of 11.32, reaction time of 118 min and catalyst concentration of 3.6 wt%.  相似文献

There are presented results regarding a new set of molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) based on acrylonitrile:acrylic acid (AN:AA) copolymer matrix. As template, it was used sclareol, an important anticancer bioactive compound, never used before for molecular imprinting. An emerging and insufficient studied MIP preparation method, namely the phase inversion, was used to prepare 0.8 mm spherical sclareol MIPs (S‐MIPs). Three AN:AA copolymers, having the initial monomer ratios 90:10, 80:20, and 70:30, were synthesized by radical copolymerization in emulsion, without emulsifier. After that, each copolymer was dissolved in the presence of the template (sclareol) in dimethylformamide. The imprinting and the morphology of these new materials were analyzed by rheology, elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, size exclusion chromatography, thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, batch rebinding tests, and Scatchard analysis. The conclusion was that the AN:AA‐80:20 matrix proved to be the optimized solution between high rigidity (given by the AN segments) and high affinity for the template (given by AA segments), the average imprinting factor for this system being 2.67. Gangliosides are effective biochemical markers of brain pathologies, being also in the focus of research as potential therapeutic targets. Accurate brain ganglioside mapping is an essential requirement for correlating the specificity of their composition with a certain pathological state and establishing a well-defined set of biomarkers. Among all bioanalytical methods conceived for this purpose, mass spectrometry (MS) has developed into one of the most valuable, due to the wealth and consistency of structural information provided. In this context, the present article reviews the achievements of MS in discovery and structural analysis of gangliosides associated with severe brain pathologies. The first part is dedicated to the contributions of MS in the assessment of ganglioside composition and role in the specific neurodegenerative disorders: Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. A large subsequent section is devoted to cephalic disorders (CD), with an emphasis on the MS of gangliosides in anencephaly, the most common and severe disease in the CD spectrum. The last part is focused on the major accomplishments of MS-based methods in the discovery of ganglioside species, which are associated with primary and secondary brain tumors and may either facilitate an early diagnosis or represent target molecules for immunotherapy oriented against brain cancers.  相似文献

Application of a dynamic microwave power system in the chemical synthesis of some phenothiazine and quinoline derivatives is described. Heterocyclic ring formation, aromatic nucleophilic substitution and heterocyclic aldehydes/ketones condensation reactions were performed on solid support, or under solvent free reaction conditions. The microwave-assisted Duff formylation of phenothiazine was achieved. Comparison of microwave-assisted synthesis with the conventional synthetic methods demonstrates advantages related to shorter reaction times and in some cases better reaction yields.  相似文献

In Part I of the paper ((1999), Trib. Trans., 42, pp. 851–859) we investigated the effect of the polyethylene concentration on the film forming properties in a rolling bearing. This second part presents the influence of the polymer additive concentration on the traction behavior experienced using a two-disk machine at different temperatures and contact pressures.

By using the traction data, a semi-empirical approach for determining the effective lubricant theological parameters in EHL contacts was performed. Using this approach, the effect of polymer concentration upon rheological parameters that appear in the Johnson and Tevaarwerk model with Eyring stress was quantified.  相似文献

The magnetoresistor achieved and presented in this paper is based on magnetorheological elastomer (MRE) with graphite microparticles. It is shown that the resistance R of the magnetoresistor decreases with an increase of the strength H of the transverse magnetic field and of the compression force F, respectively The sum θ of the principal deformations as well as the compresibility module K is determined and the results obtained are discussed.  相似文献

In the process of digitizing the geometry and appearance of 3D objects, texture registration is a necessary step that solves the 2D–3D mapping between the 2D texture images and the 3D geometric model. For evaluation of texture registration with ground truth, accurate datasets can be obtained with a complex setup consisting of calibrated geometry and texture capture devices. We do not have any knowledge of such evaluation performed; current evaluations reflect, at their best, the precision achieved by the algorithms, but fail to identify a possible bias. We propose a new evaluation measure based on the epipolar geometry of texture image pairs, with the advantage that the ground truth can be extracted solely from the texture images, independent of the 3D acquisition. We developed a noise model suitable to our purpose and analysed three distance measures based on epipolar geometry, well known in the computer vision community, to find new theoretical and experimental results. Finally, using the proposed framework, we evaluated a texture registration algorithm based on mutual information and found that its accuracy was under half-pixel.  相似文献

The paper presents a new lossless ECG compression scheme. The short-term predictor and the coder use conditioning on a small number of contexts. The long-term prediction is based on an algorithm for R-R interval estimation. Several QRS detection algorithms are investigated to select a low complexity and reliable detection algorithm. The coding of prediction residuals uses primarily the Golomb-Rice (GR) codes, but, to improve the coding results, escape codes GR-ESC are used in some contexts for a limited number of samples. Experimental results indicate the good overall performance of the lossless ECG compression algorithms (reducing the storage needs from 12 to about 3-4 bits per sample). The scheme consistently outperforms other waveform or general purpose coding algorithms.  相似文献
