This study aimed to characterize rosemary essential oil particles obtained by spray-drying and to evaluate their antimicrobial activity. Measurements of mycelial growth of Penicillium and Aspergillus fungi, isolated from fresh dough, were made applying oil concentrations of 1.0, 5.0, 10.0, 20.0, and 50.0 μL/mL. Fungi and yeast counts in the fresh dough submitted to the control (no oil), pure oil, and microencapsulated oil treatments were also conducted. The microcapsules showed 50 % oil retention after drying, and the major oil components identified were 1,8-cineole (29.0 %), camphor (26.6 %), and α-pinene (10.6 %). The analysis of the particles revealed surfaces without fissures, with a mean particle size of 12.2 μm and presenting an amorphous structure. The growth inhibiting effect of Penicillium sp. fungus, compared to the control, was verified at concentrations of 1.0, 5.0, and 10.0 μL/mL rosemary essential oil, which did not differ among them. For Aspergillus sp., the application of 10.0 μL/mL oil provided greater inhibition compared to 1.0 and 5.0 μL/mL. Complete inhibition occurred with the application of 50.0 μL/mL for both fungal genera tested. At 8 days of dough storage at 25 °C, a decrease of at least 0.7 and 1.5 log cycles of fungal growth was observed in the dough with pure oil and that with microencapsulated oil, respectively, relative to the control. The microencapsulation process retained the antimicrobial property of rosemary essential oil and provided further extension of this activity over time when applied to fresh dough. 相似文献

The effect of trace quantities of ammonia on oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) on carbon-supported platinum catalysts in perchloric acid solutions is assessed using rotating ring disk electrode (RRDE) technique. The study demonstrates that ammonia has detrimental effects on ORR. The most significant effect takes place in the potential region above 0.7 V vs RHE. The effect is explained by the electrochemical oxidation of ammonia, which blocks Pt active sites and increases the formation of H2O2. This leads to losses in the disk currents and increments in the ring currents. The apparent losses in ORR currents may occur in two ways, namely, through the blocking of the active sites for ORR as well as by generating a small anodic current, which is believed to have a lower contribution. In addition, a detrimental effect of sodium cations in the potential range below 0.75 V vs RHE was demonstrated. This effect is most likely due to the co-adsorption of sodium cations and perchlorate anions on the Pt surface. 相似文献

This work evaluated the use of allyl fatty acid esters derived from vegetable oil (palmitic acid, soybean and sunflower oils) as reactive coalescing agents in a waterborne latex system. Allyl fatty acid derivatives (AFAD) from vegetable oils were synthesized by two different processes. The synthesis was monitored by IR-spectroscopy and the final product characterized by FT-IR, GC–MS, 1H and 13C NMR. The presence of conjugated double bonds in the aliphatic chain was confirmed, which is a determinant for the proposed autoxidative latexes drying mechanism. Each of the AFAD were subsequently added to a standard acrylic emulsion, in order to study its potential as reactive coalescing agent. The minimum film-forming temperature (MFT), glass transition temperature (T g), drying time and rubbing resistance to solvents were evaluated. The results showed that, when added to water-borne acrylic resins, an AFAD acts as a non-volatile plasticizer capable of autoxidative crosslinking with itself. 相似文献

We investigated CH4 oxidation in the water column of Lake Kivu, a deep meromictic tropical lake with CH4-rich anoxic deep waters. Depth profiles of dissolved gases (CH4 and N2O) and a diversity of potential electron acceptors for anaerobic CH4 oxidation (NO3?, SO42?, Fe and Mn oxides) were determined during six field campaigns between June 2011 and August 2014. Denitrification measurements based on stable isotope labelling experiments were performed twice. In addition, we quantified aerobic and anaerobic CH4 oxidation, NO3? and SO42? consumption rates, with and without the presence of an inhibitor of SO42?-reducing bacteria activity. Aerobic CH4 production was also measured in parallel incubations with the addition of an inhibitor of aerobic CH4 oxidation. The maximum aerobic and anaerobic CH4 oxidation rates were estimated to be 27?±?2 and 16?±?8?μmol/L/d, respectively. We observed a difference in the relative importance of aerobic and anaerobic CH4 oxidation during the rainy and the dry season, with a greater role for aerobic oxidation during the dry season. Lower anaerobic CH4 oxidation rates were measured in presence of molybdate in half of the measurements, suggesting the occurrence of linkage between SO42? reduction and anaerobic CH4 oxidation. NO3? consumption and dissolved Mn production rates were never high enough to sustain the measured anaerobic CH4 oxidation, reinforcing the idea of a coupling between SO42? reduction and CH4 oxidation in the anoxic waters of Lake Kivu. Presently, several bone graft substitutes are being developed or already available for clinical use. However, the limited number of clinical and in vivo trials for direct comparison between these products may complicate this choice. One of the main reasons for this scarcity it is the use of models that do not readily allow the direct comparison of multiple bone graft substitutes, due especially to the small number of implantation sites. Although sheep cancellous bone models are now well established for these purposes, the limited availability of cancellous bone makes it difficult to find multiple comparable sites within a same animal. These limitations can be overcome by the monocortical model here proposed as it consists in 5–6 holes (5 mm Ø), in the femoral diaphysis, with similar bone structure, overlying soft tissue and loading pattern for all defects. Associated to this model, it is also described a fast histomorphometric analysis method using a computer image segmentation test (Threshold method) to assess bone regeneration parameters. The information compiled through the experimental use of 45 sheep in several studies allowed determining that this ovine model has the potential to demonstrate differences in bone-forming performance between various scaffolds. A 22 factorial design (two factors at two levels, in triplicate) was performed to investigate the influence of factors A (time of treatment, 15 and 30 days) and B (chia oil content in a supplemented diet, at 2.1 and 4.2 %) in three responses of interest referring to: (a) the incorporation of alpha‐linolenic acid (LNA) in lipids of Nile tilapia fillet; (b) the enhancement of n‐3 fatty acids; and (c) the decrease in the omega‐6/omega3 (n‐6/n‐3) ratio in fish. Factors A and B were significant in the three regression models obtained and the interaction AB was a significant contributor to the LNA and n‐6/n‐3 ratio. Analysis of variance suggested three significant and predictive mathematical models. Response surfaces analyses from designs indicated higher LNA and n‐3 contents and a lower n‐6/n‐3 ratio using both factors A and B in the higher levels (30 days of treatment and 4.2 % of chia oil in the diet for fish) chosen for this study. 相似文献

This paper presents a study on the curing conditions of several resin-impregnated papers and its impact on the performance of HPL (high-pressure decorative laminate). A new methodology for evaluating the bond strength development between the different layers of a HPL(overlay, decorative, and kraft papers) was developed using ABES (Automated Bonding Evaluation System) equipment. The proposed method can be applied to the study of the curing step of the different impregnated paper and the development of bonds between them (overlay paper on decorative paper, decorative paper on kraft paper, and kraft paper on kraft paper) trying to simulate the hot-pressing of an industrial HPL. This will permit to establish a more adapted temperature gradient in hot-press in order to achieve the same curing rate for all layers and provide a good final overall product quality. 相似文献

Industries need to adopt the environmental management concepts in the traditional supply chain management. The green supply chain management (GSCM) is an established concept to ensure environment-friendly activities in industry. This paper identifies the relationship of driving and dependence that exists between GSCM practices with regard to their adoption within Brazilian electrical/electronic industry with the help of interpretive structural modelling (ISM). From the results, we infer that cooperation with customers for eco-design practice is driving other practices, and this practice acts as a vital role among other practices. A novel quadruple spinneret to produce dual-layer hollow fiber membranes by simultaneous spinning of two polymer solutions, using the dual precipitation bath technique is proposed. Hollow fibers aimed at gas separation processes were prepared in extrusion system specifically designed and built for this purpose. A polyurethane polymer was selected as the selective layer (outer-layer), while polyethersulfone was defined as the support (inner-layer). Activated carbon powder was added into the PU solution for further improvement of the transport properties. The hollow fibers showed good adhesion between the polymer layers and a defect-free selective layer. Representative results include a CO2/N2 selectivity of 43. 相似文献

Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of previous application of an adhesive system on bond strength of resinous liner materials to dentin. Methods: Ninety bovine incisors crowns had a 6 × 6 mm area of dentin exposed, with minimum of 2 mm thickness. They were embedded in acrylic resin, and the dentin was polished with P600 SiC sandpaper for 30 s to standardize the smear layer. The specimens were divided into 6 groups (n = 15) according to the application or not of a self-etching system (Futurabond U – Voco) and the type of resinous liner used: A+Ionoseal (adhesive and Ionoseal – Voco); Ionoseal (Ionoseal only); A+Vitrebond (adhesive and Vitrebond – 3M/ESPE); Vitrebond (Vitrebond only); A+Ionosit (adhesive and Ionosit – DMG) and Ionosit (Ionosit only). Adhesives were used following manufacturer’s instructions, and the liner materials were applied inside a 2-mm-depth matrix and light-cured for 20 s. The bond strength was measured by microtensile test, using a universal testing machine with a cross-speed of 1 mm/min. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA and Tukey’s test (p < 0.05). Results: The adhesive system application increased bond strength of all liners tested. Ionoseal presented the highest bond strength when the adhesive system was used and exhibited similar performance to Vitrebond without adhesive. Ionosit without adhesive showed the smallest bond strength compared with the other liners tested. Conclusion: The application of an adhesive system prior to the use of the resinous liners improved the bond strength to dentin and should be preconized. 相似文献
