ABSTRACT

One way of addressing environmental problems is to increase the use of light-weight materials in automobiles, such as the multi-material structure, which improves fuel economy and reduces pollution. However, it is necessary to develop a welding technique to join carbon fibre-reinforced plastic to metals to achieve a multi-material structure. So, this paper aims to shorten the welding time and to clarify the fatigue fracture mechanism of shear type friction stir spot welding joint between aluminium alloy and CFRP experimentally and analytically. As a result, the static and fatigue strength of the joint improved as the welding time increased due to the increase of total joint area to increased resin melting.  相似文献

The choice of weld bead size in the case of welded cruciform joints can be problematic, especially when the sheets forming the joint are of differing thickness. Technological standards generally recommend a weld bead thickness less than the minimum thickness of the sheets to be joined, whereas structural standards do not envisage any dependency between joint static and fatigue strength and weld bead dimensions, unless these are so reduced as to lead to failure starting and propagating in the weld bead itself rather than the base metal plates. The scope of this study is the theoretical and experimental analysis of the change in fatigue strength with varying weld bead thickness and minimum welded plate thickness.  相似文献

Pyogenic spondylodiscitis can cause severe osteolytic and destructive lesions in the spine. Elderly or immunocompromised individuals are particularly susceptible to infectious diseases; specifically, infections in the spine can impair the ability of the spine to support the trunk, causing patients to be bedridden, which can also severely affect the physical condition of patients. Although treatments for osteoporosis have been well studied, treatments for bone loss secondary to infection remain to be elucidated because they have pathological manifestations that are similar to but distinct from those of osteoporosis. Recently, we encountered a patient with severely osteolytic pyogenic spondylodiscitis who was treated with romosozumab and exhibited enhanced bone formation. Romosozumab stimulated canonical Wnt/β-catenin signaling, causing robust bone formation and the inhibition of bone resorption, which exceeded the bone loss secondary to infection. Bone loss due to infections involves the suppression of osteoblastogenesis by osteoblast apoptosis, which is induced by the nuclear factor-κB and mitogen-activated protein kinase pathways, and osteoclastogenesis with the receptor activator of the nuclear factor-κB ligand-receptor combination and subsequent activation of the nuclear factor of activated T cells cytoplasmic 1 and c-Fos. In this study, we review and discuss the molecular mechanisms of bone loss secondary to infection and analyze the efficacy of the medications for osteoporosis, focusing on romosozumab, teriparatide, denosumab, and bisphosphonates, in treating this pathological condition.  相似文献

Endothelial cells acquire different phenotypes to establish functional vascular networks. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) signaling induces endothelial proliferation, migration, and survival to regulate vascular development, which leads to the construction of a vascular plexuses with a regular morphology. The spatiotemporal localization of angiogenic factors and the extracellular matrix play fundamental roles in ensuring the proper regulation of angiogenesis. This review article highlights how and what kinds of extracellular environmental molecules regulate angiogenesis. Close interactions between the vascular and neural systems involve shared molecular mechanisms to coordinate developmental and regenerative processes. This review article focuses on current knowledge about the roles of angiogenesis in peripheral nerve regeneration and the latest therapeutic strategies for the treatment of peripheral nerve injury.  相似文献

In present study, the collapse of void bubble in liquid has been simulated using moving particle semi-implicit (MPS) code. The liquid is described using moving particles and the bubble–liquid interface was set to be vacuum pressure boundary without interfacial heat mass transfer. The topological shape of bubble can be traced according to the motion and location of interfacial particles. The time dependent bubble diameter, interfacial velocity and bubble collapse time were obtained under wide parametric range. The comparison with Rayleigh and Zababakhin's prediction showed a good agreement which validates the applicability and accuracy on MPS method in solving present momentum problems. The potential void induced water hammer pressure pulse was also evaluated which is instructive for further material erosion study. The bubble collapse with non-condensable gas has been further simulated and the rebound phenomenon was successfully captured which is similar with vapor-filled cavitation phenomenon. The present study exhibits some fundamental characteristics of void bubble hydrodynamics and it is also expected to be instructive for further applications of MPS method to complicated bubble dynamics problems.  相似文献

Sea urchin gonads are highly priced sushi foodstuff “Uni” in Japanese traditional food, but after removal of them the residual shells with spines are dumped as waste. However, sea urchin shells contain naphthoquinone pigments with several phenolic hydroxyl groups, which were expected to act as potent antioxidant substances by donating hydrogens. Our previous study has evaluated their antioxidant ability to depress lipid peroxidation. This study examined other antioxidant property of the pigments from purple sea urchin shells, which possess larger amount of pigments than those of red and green sea urchins. The pigments as well as known antioxidant, α-tocopherol, exhibited 1,1-diphenyl 2-picryhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging ability. Superoxide anion radical and hydrogen peroxide were also scavenged while hydroxyl radical, one of the most reactive oxygen species, was not significantly inhibited. However, because the pigments had significant activity to scavenge hydrogen peroxide and superoxide anion radical that could be in vivo precursors of hydroxyl radical, sea urchin pigments would be able to depress the generation of its related active oxygen radical species. These results suggested that sea urchin shells, which are still regarded as food waste, would be a new bio-resource for obtaining natural antioxidant.  相似文献

By applying square wave AC voltage to the Au source electrode of tetracene based field-effect transistor (FET), electroluminescence (EL) was obtained. The results suggest that electrons and holes were injected alternately from the source electrode and recombined each other, and lead to the EL. This type of EL was localized at the interface between the source electrode and tetracene, and enhanced periodically with two relaxation times in accordance with the applied AC voltage cycle. We modeled the carrier behavior in the FET and explained the decay of EL, taking into account the space charge field contribution. Finally, using an AC voltage superposed on DC bias voltage, it was shown that electron injection was prompted only by space charge field.  相似文献
