In this study, parabolic trough collector with an integrated source of geothermal water is used with regenerative Rankine cycle with an open feedwater heater, an electrolyzer, and an absorption cooling system. The absorption fluids used in the solar collectors were Al2O3‐ and Fe2O3‐based nanofluids. Detailed energetic and exergetic analyses are done for the whole system including all the components. A comparative analysis of both the used working fluids is done and plotted against their different results. The parameters that are varied to change the output of the system are ambient temperature, solar irradiance, the percentage of nanofluids, the mass flow rate of the geothermal well, the temperature gradient of the geothermal well that had an effect on the net power produced, and the outlet temperature of the solar collector overall energetic and exergetic efficiencies. Other useful outputs by this domestic integrated multigeneration system are the heating of domestic water, space heating (maintaining the temperature at 40°C‐50°C), and desalination of seawater (flash distillation). The hydrogen production rate for both the fluids diverges with each other, both producing average from 0.00490 to 0.0567 g/s.  相似文献

With the increasing number of vehicles, traffic jam becomes one of the major problems of the fast‐growing world. Intelligent transportation system (ITS) communicates perilous warnings and information on forthcoming traffic jams to all vehicles within its coverage region. Real‐time traffic information is the prerequisite for ITS applications development. In this paper, on the basis of the vehicle‐to‐infrastructure (V2I) communication, a novel infrastructure‐based vehicular congestion detection (IVCD) scheme is proposed to support vehicular congestion detection and speed estimation. The proposed IVCD derives the safety time (time headway) between vehicles by using iterative content‐oriented communication (COC) contents. Meanwhile, the roadside sensor (RSS) provides an infrastructure framework to integrate macroscopic traffic properties into the estimation of both the traffic congestion and vehicle safety speed. The main responsibilities of RSS in IVCD are to preserve privacy, aggregate data, store information, broadcast routing table, estimate safety speed, detect traffic jam, and generate session ID (S‐ID) for vehicles. Monte Carlo simulations in four typical Chinese highway settings are presented to show the advantage of the proposed IVCD scheme over the existing Greenshield's and Greenberg's macroscopic congestion detection schemes in terms of the realized congestion detection performance. Real road traces generated by Simulation of Urban Mobility (SUMO) over NS‐3.29 are utilized to demonstrate that the proposed IVCD scheme is capable of effectively controlling congestion in both single and multilane roads in terms of density and speed health with previous schemes in this field.  相似文献

The objective here is to examine the characteristics of non-Fourier flux theory in flow induced by a nonlinear stretched surface. Constitutive expression for an incompressible Walter-B liquid is taken into account. Consideration of thermal stratification and variable thermal conductivity characterizes the heat transfer process. The concept of boundary layer is adopted for the formulation purpose. Modern methodology for the computational process is implemented. Surface drag force is computed and discussed. Salient features of significant variables on the physical quantities are reported graphically. It is explored that velocity is enhanced for a larger ratio of rate constants. The increasing values of thermal relaxation factor correspond to less temperature.

In this paper, the impact of varying path loss exponent (PLE) on user association probability, decoupled uplink coverage probability as well as decoupled uplink average spectral efficiency in downlink uplink decoupled (DUDe) multi-tier heterogeneous networks, is investigated. We investigate the effect of the difference in path loss exponents in both macro and small cell environments over uplink network performance. It is assumed that the mobile user connected to the macro base station experience different path loss exponent as compared to when connected to small base station. It is observed that the difference of path loss exponents in both cases has significant effect on the user association probability, decoupled uplink coverage probability as well as decoupled uplink average spectral efficiency. Moreover, in order to further support key findings and make sound comparison between coupled and DUDe performance in varying PLE environment, generalized analytical expressions for coupled association probabilities, along with coupled uplink coverage probability and coupled uplink average spectral efficiency have been derived. The analytical results evaluated in this paper are compared with the computer simulation and found in good agreement. Our analysis shows that decoupling technique performs suboptimal for cases where the environments around macro and small base stations are different with respect to each other. The work explained in this paper highlights the limitation of applying DUDe technique in realistic conditions where the PLEs of cellular tiers are not exactly equal to one another.

In this article, a study of residual based a posteriori error estimation is presented for the partition of unity finite element method (PUFEM) for three-dimensional (3D) transient heat diffusion problems. The proposed error estimate is independent of the heuristically selected enrichment functions and provides a useful and reliable upper bound for the discretization errors of the PUFEM solutions. Numerical results show that the presented error estimate efficiently captures the effect of h-refinement and q-refinement on the performance of PUFEM solutions. It also efficiently reflects the effect of ill-conditioning of the stiffness matrix that is typically experienced in the partition of unity based finite element methods. For a problem with a known exact solution, the error estimate is shown to capture the same solution trends as obtained by the classical L2 norm error. For problems with no known analytical solutions, the proposed estimate is shown to be used as a reliable and efficient tool to predict the numerical errors in the PUFEM solutions of 3D transient heat diffusion problems.  相似文献

Extensive research has been carried out in the past on face recognition, face detection, and age estimation. However, age-invariant face recognition (AIFR) has not been explored that thoroughly. The facial appearance of a person changes considerably over time that results in introducing significant intraclass variations, which makes AIFR a very challenging task. Most of the face recognition studies that have addressed the ageing problem in the past have employed complex models and handcrafted features with strong parametric assumptions. In this work, we propose a novel deep learning framework that extracts age-invariant and generalized features from facial images of the subjects. The proposed model trained on facial images from a minor part (20–30%) of lifespan of subjects correctly identifies them throughout their lifespan. A variety of pretrained 2D convolutional neural networks are compared in terms of accuracy, time, and computational complexity to select the most suitable network for AIFR. Extensive experimental results are carried out on the popular and challenging face and gesture recognition network ageing dataset. The proposed method achieves promising results and outperforms the state-of-the-art AIFR models by achieving an accuracy of 99%, which proves the effectiveness of deep learning in facial ageing research.  相似文献

In order to prevent the collapse of ceilings and walls of large tunnels, especially in difficult geological conditions, either a sequential excavation method (SEM) or ground reinforcing method, or a combination of both, can be utilized. The first part of the adit tunnel in northwestern Iran is being drilled in alluvium material with very weak geotechnical parameters. Despite applying an SEM in constructing this tunnel, analyzing the numerical modeling done using FLAC3D, as well as observations during drilling, indicate tunnel instability. To increase operational safety and to prevent collapse, a pre-support system was designed and implemented. The results of the numerical modeling accompanied by monitoring during operation, as well as the results of instrumentation, indicate the efficacy of this method for preventing collapse in alluvium material along the tunnel route. Modeling the behavior of the umbrella arch shows that the location of the maximum compressive force will change with a change in the tunnel arc location. Moreover, displacement, force and moment exerted on the pipes will change during drilling steps according to a certain pattern.  相似文献
